Recent Review: These are great people to work with. Excellent job with the skylight caulking since they made sure that the old caulk was completely removed so the new caulk had an excellent bond on a clean surface. Did neat work. They took an extra step to enable the water to drain away from the skylight toward the gutters--showed attention to detail! The skylight has stopped leaking. I really appreciated how they promptly came out the day after I called before more rain moved into the area. The Bonus Room (with A frame ceiling that is 10.5' high in the middle) was a very good job, but it was a bit too rushed at the end because they had to get to another job and it was already 3 p.m. They thought they would be finished by noon or 1 p.m., but it was a large room. I was given the opportunity to look around the room to see if they missed anything, but in the dim afternoon light, I couldn't see anything then. However, the next day I saw that the cutting in (brush work) near the wood beams had only been primed, not painted, in several areas. As I said, I couldn't see that in the late afternoon dim light when I was asked to look everything over, so I think they couldn't see that either. It's hard to see the white primer next to the white ceiling paint, except in the bright morning light the next day. I gave a B for Punctuality because they were later every day than what they told me, but on the plus side, they texted me updates with the new ETAs, which I appreciated. Be sure to get a cell phone number and give yours. In construction, sometimes emergency issues pop up and it's good if they can text you what the situation is. On the first day before they came to my house, they had to do an emergency roof repair first because of a bad leak. I understand things like that happen; I was just glad to know they were still going to come to my house because they texted me. I recommend this company and would use them again.

Recent Review: Outstanding job! Very professional! I removed two built-ins and needed some drywall repair and painting. They quoted me a very reasonable price and started right away. The part that impressed me was how strait the lines were when the wall was re painted. I highly recommend them and will have them back for future projects.
O'Neal and his crew were great! They were very professional and a pleasure to deal with. I will definitely use them anytime I need any drywall or painting services.

FMick Webb Custom Cabinets & Woodworkiing
Webb started the drywall repair and removed the cabinet doors which were to be rebuilt. This work was to have taken two weeks to accomplish . After two months he never completed any of the work. I also loaned him an enclosed cargo trailer, and 6 weeks later he refuses to return it , claims it is his, and the police say that i will have to sue him for it, even though I have the title to it. The value of the trailer was $1500.00 and the value of the unsatisfactory work that he did preform was less than $200.00. His Facebook page has at least one other very bad review. Best to avoid this man. I certainly do NOT recommend this person ! Larry Allen

FMcMahan's Paint & Drywall
*Said he'd come by to give an estimate Friday evening. Called at 9:30pm to say he wouldn't make it. *Came by Monday to give the estimate and promised to have it done by Thursday. Said they'd be here Tuesday or Wednesday "first thing" at the latest. *Stayed home all day Tuesday waiting for him--not a word, no call. Called him that evening and he said he'd be there at 7:30am Wednesday. *At 11:30am Wednesday, after I stayed home all morning waiting for him, he called to say he'd be late. Showed up about noon and worked for an hour or so. He said he'd be back later that afternoon or the next morning to sand it and finish. *Did not call to say he wasn't coming. We called him that evening and he said he'd be by "first thing" in the morning. He called late morning to say he wouldn't make it till 4pm after I'd sat at home again waiting for him. He did show up at 2pm, sanded, and said he'd be back that evening after my husband put on a coat of primer to make any necessary repairs. *Showed up about 6pm and patched a few places, then asked if we could finish the small amount of sanding so we could go ahead and pay him because he needed the money. We refused; said we'd pay him when the job was done. *Came about 8 the next morning with a worker and spent about 5 minutes sanding, collected his money and left. *His work was sloppy. Didn't use a stepladder, so the top edge of the wall is untouched. The corners also were unrepaired. He fixed the obvious spots on the walls but did not re-mud the entire surface as we had asked. The wall still has nicks and blemishes. He did not strip the wallpaper behind the toilet as he had promised. *He left cigarette butts in the driveway and there are streaks of spackling on the curb where he parked, like flicked off a tool. *Overall, very unprofessional and poor workmanship. Lost interest in the small job quickly and paid no attention to detail. Will not use him again!!

AA Cut Above Carpentry
Was very detailed in the process. Communicated clearly each step of the way sending me pictures because I wasn't able to be there because of work. Knocked down two walls to open up my kitchen and dining room to the living space. Installed new drywall, painted and made a bar between the kitchen and dining area. Installed new flooring through the dining and living area. Looks like a brand new house. The crew was polite and cleaned up after themselves was in and out quickly. Will definitely use this company again!!!!!

We own a small business in the Dothan, Al area, but live out of town. I found Fred Klein through Angie's List and at the time there were not that many options in the area. Their company didn't have stellar reviews, but we decided to go with them. For a project that I was not able to directly oversee, it went pretty smoothly in the beginning. Fred was willing to work around our hours of operation as much a possible with a remodel of this type. Issues didn't really emerge until the end of the project. On three separate occasions, strips of vinyl fell off of the building. To his credit, Fred came out to fix the issues, but recently another siding issue came up and Fred has stopped returning calls. I have yet to personally inspect his work, but so far it's suspect. I will update this post once I am able to view the work firsthand. My biggest complaint with the company is that they took a $1200 deposit from me on 4/12/12 to install carpet "around Memorial Day." It is 6/22/12 and it has yet to be installed. Fred has not returned my emails or answered my calls. For my part, I am not always quick to respond either, but two and a half months is a bit ridiculous. About their professionalism, Fred wasn't aware that we have some personal friends that work for us. He would refer to us as "Corporate P*****" when he spoke to them and the rest of the staff. We spoke to Fred about this and he did apologize. Another unprofessional issue was that his son and the crew smoke and toss cigarette butts throughout the property as well as in the kitchen sink and the toilets. All in all, our customers like the looks of the remodel, which is great. Hindsight being 20/20, I would have chosen another company. this is an old home and it was not built in 1997! *update 8/5/12 Fred refunded the $1200 deposit.
