Recent Review: They were extremely helpful. They were willing to make suggestions and provide additional information. They gave us a lot of choices. They went to a lot of effort to give us the right product. The price is competitive, but it isn't the cheapest thing in town.

Wyatt Building Corp
Recent Review: We hired Wyatt Construction to build a screened in porch on an existing patio. They had the best bid. They sent out a great crew! We couldn't be happier with the porch.(special thanks to Steve..the crew manager!) We then hired Mr Wyatt to replace our hardwood flooring which had been damaged by a leak. We went with cork flooring and Mr Wyatt .He subcontracted it out to Issis and Sons but was involved with the whole project. We were not happy with the quarter round they used or the way it was done and they are here today replacing it. We love the flooring. We have been so happy with Wyatt that we are now having our house painted inside and out. Again, he came through with the best bid and we really like the Dan Jones painting company he uses. Will update again when the painting is done. We have nothing but good things to say about Mr. Wyatt and his company and the people-companies he uses

Recent Review: We had used this contractor previously and felt very comfortable allowing access in our absence from the home.  We came home to a completed job which was done as we expected and clean up was taken care of as well.   The only issue was with the wiring of the fan/light but that was due to the new fan with remote control and nothing the contractor did.  We were very happy with the work and the price and would use Frankie and his crew again.  His crew is the exception to the late arrivals and undependable start/completion times that I have experience with contractors in the past.

The gentleman that came was one of the sons of Issis Sons Carpet Oriental Rugs. I found him to be very respectful. When we called they came at the time they told us they would be here. They were ready and willing to go through any extreme that came around. He was very funny, he had us laughing the whole time. I thought he should have been a comedian instead of installing floors. They did a really good job.

FBates Flooring
I called him and we scheduled the appointment but he canceled. Then his number was no longer in service. I found his number on Angie's List. They finally agreed to come to my home and make the repairs. He seemed fine in the beginning. He was friendly and I spent a lot of money for the work. He claimed the problem was due to moisture. He was not helpful.  He was not willing to make the repairs to our satisfaction. I was not confident with his work so I hired someone else for the repairs. It took a lot of extra work on our part. It was honestly, two or three days of extra work for us due to a mistake that he made.  I found the fact his number was changed, was sketchy and very unprofessional. He did not own up to the responsibility of the repairs and his error. I even had a contract with him.

DANDY OnCall Birmingham
The price was high, i thought.  If I remember, the hall bathroom was over $5000, and the Master Bath was around 7700. When I tried calling him to discuss the price ( the estimated was emailed to me), It took several tries before I could reach him and he never called me. I just continued calling until one day he answered the phone.  Even when I emailed him, I got no reply.  I took it that he didn't really want the job.  So, I called Andy on Call to complain and they wanted to know if I wanted them to send him back out and I said "no".  I asked if they could send someone else and they told me that he was the only one they had in this area. So, that was that.

CMAGIC CITY HARDWOOD FLOORING
Please note: I had to take a guess on the cost. It's been several yrs and I can't remember. I just remember they were in line with other quotes we received. I really wanted to like these guys--they are not bad people, and I know someone else who used them in the past and was pleased. My experience with them was just not up to par. The good: punctual, reasonalby priced, easy to get in touch with, product installed was what I ordered and paid for (in other words I paid for no. 1 common red oak and that's what I got), no swirl marks. The bad:  The finish has worn in spots even with the use of felt pads under chairs. I have not had this be a problem in the two other houses I've lived in w/ hardwood floors. Next-- Apparently, they didn't allow my newly installed flooring to acclimate properly because it cups  two thirds of the year -- all summer, fall, and beginning of winter before it flattens back out. It either didn't acclimate or was installed wrong. I don't know why it happened. I just know it should NOT cup. Next, They were supposed to put 2 coats of polyurethane on everything. Somehow they completely missed my powder room. You wouldn't know to look at it (my floors are low gloss), but I can tell because it is such a dirt magnet compared to all the other areas in my house. Can also tell by the way it feels when I rub my hand across or run the microfiber dust mop over it. The mop glides smoothly over my floors until I hit the powder room, and it hits resistance and even snags a little. No topcoat. Next, if I look closely, I can see some "trash" in the top coat in certain areas. Last but not least, they just would not mix up a stain color that was anywhere close to what I wanted. They made me second guess my original color choice. I  told them I wanted the floors to be dark. They mixed up four different colors, and none were what I wanted. Somehow I let them talk me into accepting the darkest of the four they mixed. I deeply regret not insisting on what I really wanted. What they applied is not even close to what I wanted. I am partially to blame for my lack of assertiveness, but basic good customer service is knowing how to assess the customers needs/wants and make sure you are meeting those needs/wants. They failed to do that. I think they had a bunch of that color stain already and just didn't want to have to go out and purchase something different than what they normally used. I am not happy. Between the cupping, powder room, and color, I can't wait to get them refinished--one day...
