We've had BQ work on our house several times for different things. What I find is that they have a swing from medium to good, and it seems to depend a lot on when and who is involved. When we had some minor inside electrical done, they installed an incorrect socket that will have to be replaced, since the people who came out didn't know how to do it properly. There was a case where they completely blew the appointment, then missed the next one, then were very late on the third try. Calling into the main office got a discount, but it was still a bad thing to miss work and not only not get stuff done, but also to have to miss work AGAIN. However we had a major sewer line failure, in cold and misty weather, at night, and they got somebody out within an hour to come try to fix it. They weren't able to that night, but that's because it was broken REALLY badly. We ended up having to dig up the back yard and replace the whole thing. I stayed to see for myself and it was as bad as they had thought. The work was expensive, really expensive, but the service contract we had took a lot off the bill. And as much as I could grumble about it being expensive, they got people out there and got the work done really, really fast. I had offers from other people that came in a lot cheaper, but I was looking at having no sewer line for about a week and a half to two weeks. I guess because BQ is kind of big and charges more, I think it was about 2 days before everything was completely fixed. For that job, they had two people on site and a third who came by to check on the progress a couple of times. One of the guys was really awesome. The other had apparently just been hired and spent a lot of time smoking and complaining while the good guy directed him. The good guy and the supervisor both apologized for the new guy's performance and attitude. I also had to get a furnace / AC. The old one was very old and had become unsafe. Again, they were expensive but they got the old one out and the new one installed really fast. They had some issues getting the new thermostat installed partly because of the way our system is set up in the house, and had to come back to get that straightened out. They did that at no charge though since it was part of the job. So, they're expensive, but that gets you a fast response - most of the time - and quality work - most of the time. I stick with them mainly because they've done pretty good work so far and if I have an emergency they're good.
