CAffordable Fences
Called and requested a quote for a pool fence. The pre-job communication was great. Dustin came out for an estimate and and saw that I was working on a deck as well. He asked if he could finish the joists for the deck and I agreed. They installed the fence in one day and also finished the joists for the deck that day. They finished at night, so I was not able to do a thorough inspection, but I did walk around the fence and noticed dirt clods where they had dug the holes for the fence. I asked if they would clean it up and they said no. There was also some concrete pour-over on the pool deck. The employee scuffed it with his shoe and said it would be fine. It is still there. The next day i put a level against the joists and they were off by an inch over a 20 foot span. The pool fence was missing two post caps, that I asked Dustin to replace. He said he would. I have since called 5 times for him to come install fence caps. He said on several occasions that he would get them and install them. It has been 5 months and no results. We also asked for a quote for moving a privacy fence and pouring concrete. They never followed up on the quote, even though they said they would. The pool fence gates do not close correctly. They came out once to adjust when they were in the neighborhood for a job at my neighbors (who would score them as an F), but they still didn't fix it so it would close. We have kids and we told them this was a concern and they didn't fix it.

Jeff, the owner, showed up on time, listened to our description of the type of fence we wanted, measured the length and we discussed where we wanted gates and what size. We wanted a scalloped picket fence and that's exactly what we got. It's absolutely beautiful, I personally inspected the entire fence after he was done and the workmanship is outstanding. The icing on the cake is that Jeff price was under out budget and quite a bit cheaper then the other local services.

Job consisted of 10 ft of fence and wooden gate plus metal fencing and driveway gate with gate opener. Salesman could not give specifications of gate opener so did not buy opener. Never once did athens fence return calls or notify us of status even though job was 3 weeks late. They hired a sub who worked 2 hours and failed to return to job. Gate on driveway was not measured correctly and gates gap in center of driveway by 3 inches even thorough final crew did a good job with what they had to work with. Very dissatisfied with driveway portion of job. And we lost work for 4 days waiting on crew.

Poor communication. Took my deposit, then they never scheduled the install. I tried calling and received no reply. Finally they call and say coming tomorrow to install fence. I was upset at lack of communication and asked for refund of deposit. They refused. Check out the BBB lots of complaints.

THE PROVIDER DID EXCELLENT WORK. THE OWNER CAME OUT AND SAW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AND KNEW THE SOLUTION AND WITHIN A COUPLE OF DAYS CAME WITH HIMSELF AND A CO-WORKER AND WORKED ALMOST A FULL DAY TAKING THE OLD POST DOWN AND PUTTING THE POST DEEPER INTO THE GROUND AND CONCRETING. HE WAS VERY CORDIAL AND A DILIGENT IN ALL HIS WORK. HE KNOWS HIS BUSINESS. I WOULD RECOMMEND.

BAffordable Fences
Dustin, JP and Cordell do quality work. It took them roughly 2 1/2 days to complete our fence and stairs, and one afternoon they even worked in the pouring rain. Dustin cares about the details. The only downside with Affordable Fences is that they are not good at scheduling. They started about a week later than the scheduled date due to other unfinished projects, and they didn't show up several times when they were supposed to. If you are patient and flexible on time, however, you will love the end product.

They did a nice job and I would use them again. However, at the time, I was not working, so if they didn't show up when they said, it was not a huge deal. We did have a permit problem. The city shut them down within an hour of them starting work because they hadn't gotten a permit. It took about a week to resolve that problem and get them back working. Also, they did mistakenly install a gate in the back of the yard which we never requested, but I didn't have any objection to having the extra gate, so they left it there with no charge to me for it. I would recommend them with the caveat that you have to be flexible about when they show up.

ACREATIVE FENCE & CONTAINMENT
We received multiple estimates for the work, all from companies with top ratings from Angie's List and the BBB. Harold from Creative Containment gave us a base estimate that was in line with the others, but the additional charge to upgrade to cedar was significantly lower than the other offers. Creative Containment was also the most responsive when I requested additional information. Harold estimated that the crew would be available in about thirty days, depending greatly on the weather, and that a firm date would be given to us when we were closer to the top of the job queue. In the end they had to delay one additional day from the date we were given but gave us a courtesy call to let us know before hand. They also called both mornings of the job to let us know when they would be arriving. On the first day the crew handled the demolition of the fencing being removed, marked off the new fence line in relation to the property line, marked where the new posts should go, dug post holes, set the new posts in concrete, and left the concrete to set overnight. Unfortunately, after the new post locations were marked (but thankfully before the holes were dug),  an issue arose that changed where the new fencing would have to be placed. The crew handled it professionally, changed their string lines, scuffed out the post location markings, and measured and marked new locations. Day two saw the installation of the new cross-members, pickets, and gates completing the installation. It also brought some pleasant surprises. We had assumed the new gates would be pre-manufactured from a hardware store, but instead they were custom built onsite in the actual location they were being installed, thus ensuring a perfect fit and match to the surrounding pickets. We were also impressed by the crews handling of a section of fence that passed close to a tree, causing a serious change in ground elevation where the roots were just under the surface. They cut the bottoms of the pickets individually so that the fence followed the change in terrain while keeping the tops of the pickets lined up straight. Their post-work cleanup was thorough, and a supervisor did a walk through and inspection of the work and job site with us to get our approval before releasing the crew. We would recommend Creative Containment without reservation. They are very busy, because they're very good, but are definitely worth waiting a little extra time for.

FTennessee Valley Fence Inc
I moved to Huntsville and was living in an apartment with my chocolate lab, Hershey. I bought a house which had most of the yard fenced except for 1 section. I told the Tennesee valley Fence representative, who gave me an estimate for the work, that it was imparative they be able to install the fence within 3 days after buying the house and I told him the closing date. Allowing my dog to be outside instead of being locked in an unfamiliar home inside. I stressed the urgency several times and told the Tennessee Valley Fence rep that I would select the company who could do the work most quickly. He assured me several times that they could meet my needs. Unfortunately, it took then almost 2 months to start the work which took 2 days. It was very h****** Hershey and I had to drive home each day at lunch to let her out, put her back inside the house, and leave again. Everytime I came home she was crying pitifully at the door and her chest was soaking wet where she slobered from panting and crying. Needless-to-say, after they sent me the bill I took 2 months to pay it.

On agreed start date had to call to ask when crew would arrive, they came and spent 2 hours taking old fence panels down and stacking them. Said they would return when materials arrived, had paid 50% down payment month before so materials would be available at start date. Called each day to get status, had to leave message as no one answered business phone. Crew returned on Friday 11 July and installed fence poles and bottom rails on back property line, said they would return when materials arrived. Called each day the next week to get status and had to leave message as no one answered business phone. Finally sent text message and received reply from owner stating crew would be on site next day, they arrived in the afternoon of 17 July and began to install panels and top rails in back and installing poles and rails on side. Returned next day to finish job, however the fence they installed did not match the existing fence, color was correct but panels were different and fence wasn’t as tall. Several fence post caps didn’t match and fence wasn’t straight and level although some parts were very good, some weren’t even close. Install crew was very courteous and worked diligently when on site. Some of the old fence panels were left for me to get rid of. Two years ago had this companey install chain link fence and double gate at my paretnts home and everything was exelecent.
