We entered a unique relationship with this builder, as the completed home we were living in was built by him. Prior to listing this home to build on land we had procured, we had a home inspection performed to correct issues prior to listing. Much to our surprise, the home inspection revealed 5 items which are considered minor; and detailed within the report we had a well-built home. At the time of inspection, the home was approximately seven years old. Carlisle Builders uses a Cost Plus model for home building which is somewhat intimidating as the risk exist for overages in all stages. This model is defined as cost of construction with builders fee applied. What we found was Keith Carlisle provided detailed reports monthly that helped us manage risks. Additionally, as he received competed estimates for work, options were always communicated to us. If our desires exceeded our budgets, we were always presented with options to mitigate increased costs. As for the building process itself, I have never seen a builder manage contractors to perform work in a timely fashion like this before. I do not believe we experienced 20 days in the seven month construction process when work was not being performed on this 3800 sq/ft home with a partial basement. This is the fourth house we have built to quantify this statement, and means a lot when you are financing a construction loan. In all cases the builder appeared to consistently visit the construction site, often times leaving an items list for contractors to make corrections in advance of our questioning a situation. On more than one occasion a sub would tell us how particular the builder was. We felt like at all times our questions were satisfactorily answered. We feel like we were delivered a quality product in the end. Our only issue was with the landscaping which was impacted by unseasonably cold temperatures. Our sod did not survive the freezing temperatures prior to a February home delivery. The builder corrected this situation with replacement sod to our satisfaction. Post-delivery items (IE-door jambs with seasonal expansion) have been minor and corrected in a timely fashion. In the end, we would not hesitate to use this builder again. The amount of communication between builder and client exceeded our expectations, and we felt he acted ethically in all facets of the construction process.

WATCH out for this builder. He hires sub-standard builders and subs. We purchased a brand new home from him and the home did not meet any code at all. We tried for 9 months for this builder to back his home and he did very little. He cares very little for his customers once you have purchased your home. He never came and fixed simple and difficult things that could put the safety of my family in jeopardy. We are now trying to fix thousands of dollars worth of repairs after the never getting a response that was worthwhile. DO NOT BUY a HOME FORM THIS PERSON WITHOUT AN inspection!!!!

I’ve known him since we were young and he does a real good job, I am really pleased with him. From a Christian based company they seems to be really upfront, straight up guys. He is a really good person, he can change things if you need to change anything. He doesn’t just charge you for whatever it is, he won’t argue and just easy to work with. He comes when he said he will. He’s probably 51 years old and doesn’t smoke or drink. His crew doesn’t line up and just smoke and throw things out of the yard, he doesn’t play with that kind of mess. I didn’t worry about leaving anything laying around, he’s just real self sufficient. He’s also on the internet and his price is competitive. Like I said, he is one of the best builders.

He walked off the job. Not only did he not finish, but the existing work was all faulty. We had many problems with the work. He was unreliable and unqualified. He left us with enormous electrical problems and plumbing problems. He also overcharged us and charged us for work that had not been completed.

DJEFF BENTON HOMES
Jeff Benton homes agent told us and then wrote on the initial contract that they will pay the closing cost, if we get mortgage through their preferred lendors. Based on that written agreement, we went with one of their preferred lendors and guess what, on the closing day, they told us that they will pay only fifty percent of the origination fee, which is one of the closing costs. They didnot pay the full origination fee as promised initially and written per our original contract before building the house. That is very unprofessional of Jeff Benton and it is called bait and switch. Based on this experience, I am inclined to give an overall D to Jeff Benton who promises one thing and does it differently. I am already dreading my future interactions with them who wont stand by their promises and even written agreements !!!.

Buyer beware. If you are looking for a builder which builds track houses that are poor to good, look no further. This builder will use the lowest cost construction material available, cut corns and will never properly address your concerns. If you like being your own quality control, spending long hours on the construction site and having the site supervisor never really fix a problem without a fight, these guys are for you. Just a few examples of quality control issues: 1) First day could not unlock front door. 2). First week sewage system backed up in house, test ball left in discharge line. 3). First winter hot water system froze, unit not located on insulated wall as plans noted. When address to builder, reply: mistakes happen. The builder did correct the problems but no “I am sorry” nor was compensation offered for our discomfort. Mistakes just happen. Our site supervisor was knowledgeable, talked a good game but performed poorly. On a number of occasions he did not provide services I believe were contracted for, quality assurance oversight of subcontractors. Finally, if you intend to talk to a number of the subcontractors; a good understanding of Spanish will be helpful. I would think hard about building a home with this builder.

FRenaissance Builders, Inc.
They were horrible. I never even got to the whole doing services. They came out and asked me what all I wanted to get stuff to the survey. They said that they will get back in about 2 weeks and it has been almost a year. They did not try to call or got response back. So, they were not responsive. They did not take my call, did just set up, and not following the rules.

They are phenomenal and I highly recommend them. We chose them because of their customer service; they have been very attentive throughout the entire process. It was a relatively smooth process because we were using a realtor going through them. The owner of the company is very customer-oriented and helps those out who need help especially in these trying economic times. This company offers a wide variety of homes and prices ranging from starter homes to multi-million dollar homes. We went through many different builders and these guys have exceeded our expectations. I have been recommending them and will use them again in the future.

They are the best home builder in this area. We just closed on our home about half an hour ago. We would highly recommend them. They were above and beyond reproach hands down. We have never seen any company work as hard and diligent as these people did to make sure that every need of ours were met.

They were excellent and it was a good experience. They made the construction process less stressful for me. All the contractors who I got in contact with were all great. I would use them again in the future.

Recent Review: A car crashed into the front of my brick house at the corner of the double garage. Brick was destroyed at the point of impact. Brick was also cracked across the front of the garage, all the way down the side of the garage and around to the back of the house. The house is over 30 years old and my primary concern was matching the repaired brick and mortar to the rest of the house. The brick on the house is a mixture of 3 or 4 different bricks. The people at Build With Wilson proposed removing all of the brick from the front, side and back of the garage and save as much as possible of the old brick. The old brick was used on 100% of the front of the house for a guaranteed match. Wilson then used their sources to locate an old brick to mix in with the remaining brick taken from the house. The brick they located matched perfectly and was used to complete the remaining brick work. They assured me that matching the mortar was not going to be a problem. And they were right. The result was simply beautiful. The brick and mortar work was a perfect match. You cannot tell anything ever happened to my house except that it looks even better than before since the garage doors had to be replaced and the inside of the garage had to be completely re-paneled. In fact, everything looked so good I had them paint the rest of my house a few months later. Again, they did a first rate job. To say I was concerned how this was going to turn out when the damage first occurred is a major understatement. Honestly, I didn’t think it could be done without some sign of repair. The people at Wilson understood my concerns and put in the extra effort to make this look right. We couldn’t be happier with their work.
