Recent Review: Start to finish 15 min. including reading instructions. Tip: when draining tank, take lower nut off then place bowl under bottom of tank. then raise old guts (fill), let tank water empty. Quicker than sponge - a lot less messy.

Recent Review: I walked out to check on my garden this afternoon and found water flowing through it where there shouldn't be water, even after heavy rain the day before. I tracked the source and found water bubbling out of a spot in my side yard. I called the water company, and then began calling around to plumbers trying to find someone that came out to rural Tuscloosa. Spanky's answered the phone and was incredibly hepful.   Given the location of the water flow and the fact that I was doing laundry at the time, he initially thought that the problem was a blocked field line to my septic tank, a repair that this company doesn't do,  but explained the whole thing to me anyway, including causes, what I needed to do next, and even recommended some contractors in my area that could fix it that he was familiar with.   His diagnosis was backed up by my cousin, who is a plumbing contractor in TN when I called him and told him what was happening.   The problem actually turned out to be a broken pipe, much to everyone's surprise since it was in a strange location, and much to my relief since that was a much less expensive repair!   I'd been so impressed with all the help Spanky's had given me so far, that I called him back and told him the repair job was his since broken pipes were something they obviously do work on.   The guy was at my house within an hour, had the repair done in 30 minutes, and turned the water back on for me.  Highly, highly recommended and I will definitely call Spanky's again for any plumbing issues I have.

Recent Review: In the course of having our heating and plumbing inspected for winter, we were told we needed to replace all 3 toilets to the tune of $2500. Since we had used Hicks Plumbing for other work in the past: replacing a faucet, installing a new disposal, etc. we called them for a second opinion. As they have in the past, they came promptly, fixed the leaks, worked efficiently and neatly, and charged a fair price for the work. I recommend them.

Recent Review: He also did the original plumbing in my house.  The heater itself cost around $800 but I am not sure how much I paid for his services.  He is dependable and knowledgeable.  He goes the extra mile as far as advise and little extra services without charge.  He is a really nice guy.  I am comfortable with him in my home.  He is very much a gentleman.

Recent Review: Our house was built way back in 1965 and I have no idea if any work has been done to the septic system since it was first installed.  The "pipe" from the bathroom to the septic tank was concrete and it had cracked over the years and roots were growing up into it.  We had it cut out a few months ago but were already having trouble with it again, causing the shower to drain really slow and the toilet to "bubble up" when someone was taking a shower.  So, I called Henson Plumbing and we set up a time for him to come out and take a look at it.  He came exactly when he said he would, knocked on my front door, introduced himself and handed me one of his business cars. We walked to the back where the septic tank was and discussed the matter.  He told me what he could do the job for and then he suggested some other upgrades they could do to make the maintenance a little easier.  I told him we would be putting the house on the market in a few years so he advised me to not do the upgrades in that case.  He was informative but not pushy at all.  I was very impressed with his profesionalism.  We set a time the following week for them to come (weather permitting).  They showed up the following Tuesday morning around 7:15 and got to work.  They finished the repair in less than two hours and then the gentleman came to the door for me to pay him and we talked about exactly what they did.  He answered my questions thoroughly and patiently.  Overall I was greatly impressed and will call on them again for any future plumbing needs.

ABreland Booth Septic Tank Co
They arrived in a timely manner and did what they were asked to do with no questions or problems, they found our septic tank to which we had no idea of the location and being this was the first time we had to have it pumped out,the process was done as quickly as it could be done. The price was sufficient also.

BHICKS PLUMBING
A gentleman called me on the day they were to come give me an estimate and wanted to come right then. I work from home and told him I was in a meeting and could he call me back later. He then asks could they not just come on over and take a look, that I really did not have to be there. I told him yeah I guess so. So happened my meeting was over when they arrived so I met them outside. The gentleman seemed rushed while he was there. They went to the back and looked around and he gave me the estimate and they left. That was about it. No business card, no introduction, no information about the company. One saving grace was that a few days later I received a nice looking typed estimate in the mail. Of course, by then the work was already done by another company. I would probably use this company if my first choice was not available just because their estimate came in exactly the same so I at least know they do work for a reasonable amount.

FSpanky's Pumping Service
I noticed a leak from the bottom of my toilet tank, and I could feel a crack in it. I called at night and got their answering service. The lady told me to call back in the morning. I called back the following morning, and a different lady answered the phone. She took down my name, number, and address, and said a service person would call me back to let me know when he was going to come. He never called. The next day, I got a different plumber to come do the work.
