We are very pleased and inspired to provide input on Timberline Maintenance & Construction. First, we can tell you that it?s difficult to find a contractor that takes pride in their work and it takes research, listening to others experiences and Angie?s List. Our project, remodeling a bathroom and we were fortunate to find Timberline Maintenance & Construction and the owner Chuck Shelley.  Work requested, install cement board on floor and walls, finish sheetrock, set tub, tile floor, tile tub area, which meant almost a complete tear out, less some walls. From the onset, Chuck provided a clear concise proposal and step by step plans to complete this two week project.  He was very methodical and patiently worked with us on our ideas and changes throughout the project.  Each day he arrived on time at the time he indicated and never left our project during the entire process.  For this customer, that?s one of the most important things a contractor can do, other that provide a professional job. Chuck is professional, considerate, respectful, and just a pleasure to work with.  He?s very meticulous and his work performance indicates just that.  He masterfully completed our bathroom on time and the finished product is absolutely amazing!  We are more than pleased; it?s just what we wanted and couldn?t be happier! We would, without hesitation recommend Chuck for your next project, as we plan to seek his services again on ours.

This man is a scammer! Run Away While You Can! He lied and took the money of a military family with a pregnant wife and toddler whose husband was gone for most weeks. If he feels no conscious scamming us then everyone is at risk to lose money and have their homes damaged by this man. This has been a nightmare experience. Both our bathrooms were gutted for this job meaning that we had no shower or bath upstairs and were living with only a half bath and a camp shower on our back deck,. After 6 weeks of constant let down and being nowhere close to a completion date, I was seriously questioning the quality of work I was seeing and the integrity of this company. I called in additional licensed contractors to get some opinions on the work. We have now had 2 plumbing contractors and the city inspector say it is some of the worst plumbing they have seen. Illegal joints and connections, zero venting for all drains, improper materials used, drains sloping up from the outlet and not down. Air is now in the baseboards and we are having to fix that as well. The electrician that came by said the electrical was also not to code and Denali windows came by and confirmed that the windows were installed in the wrong orientation and without headers.    The absolute worst part of this is that our structure has now been compromised. They drilled into the supporting joists for plumbing and positioned the holes so that the joists now need to be replaced or have sister joists attached. I'm still waiting for an estimate on how much this would cost.     Darryl is a licensed general contractor with the state, not the city, and is not licensed to perform plumbing or electrical work. If you decide to hire him, even after this review, demand to see the licenses of any plumber and electrician that turns up at your house.           Even if all this had not happened, they have been behind schedule at every turn. Some days no one worked at all while other days they might have been here for 1 - 2 hours. The drywall was patched badly and the texture effect very sloppy. We have had issues with damage done to the ceiling beneath the bathroom, electrical wires cut and effecting lighting in the rest of the house. We were told we were a priority but 7 weeks later my family are still taking camp showers on our back deck. We have fired Darryl and are now collecting evidence in case the legal action is needed. We have hired a new company and are just hoping that we can get the bathrooms completed and done right. UPDATE *** After months of Darryl telling us he would do the right thing and reimburse us, we finally realized he was full of lies and just trying to cheat his way out of all costs. He would cancel meeting us at the last minute or say he didn't receive our emails. Unfortunately, in the end, we had to use a lawyer to finally get an agreement that we would be reimbursed for the cost of all repairs needed to correct the work Cornerstone had done. Total cost of repairs - over 30,000. This does not include the 18000 we had given him for the work performed. I did not get the impression that we would get any money from them until legal matters were started and I am saddened that it had to come to that. We gave Darryl nearly 4 months to be a good guy and do the right thing before going to a lawyer. I was also very pregnant by the end of all this, yes I was 3 months pregnant when they started the work, and legal action was the last option. UPDATE #2*** He signed a contract to cover all costs on the very last day of summons. Since then we have had late repayments, more lies, and a bounced check. Looks like we'll be seeing this guy in court.

Excellent work. James Adams really worked hard and independently. He came with numerous ideas that ultimately saved me money. He was flexible and reasonable in design modifications and performed work on time. I recommend him highly.

Chuck Shelley is a one-man crew, and did an absolutely fantastic job.  His workmanship and product were more than I could have hoped for: our bathroom looks great down to the small details.  His preparation of the walls with cement board, compound, etc. was meticulous and resulted in straight, flat tile-work, with very well-aligned grout lines from wall-to-wall and wall-to-floor.  He correctly furred out the studs at the beginning to ensure uniform thickness from the shower area to the vanity and toilet areas. Of particular note is a shower "cubby" he created from scratch (for shampoo bottles, etc.).  It is well-supported, flawlessly tiled with bull-nosed pieces, and looks beautiful.  Also of note are the many wall penetrations for plumbing and electrical:  excellent alignment, and carefully cut. Other details, such as sheet rock texturing and baseboard trim are installed to the same standard. Dealing and communicating with Chuck throughout the project was comfortable and easy.  He communicates well, and exercised very good judgement about what details and potential challenges needed to be talked about as he performed the work, demonstrating that he was always looking ahead, and able to filter concerns by importance.  Being a tradesman myself, it was not lost on me how it was my responsibility as the owner to weigh-in on and decide a great many issues, but he exhibited a mature sense of what mattered throughout - - constantly communicating, but never wasting my time. I will say that the work took him a little longer than he anticipated (not terribly, but perhaps 25% longer), and that you should should not try to fit him into a tight schedule.  But I suspect this goes with the territory with him: his work is physical, sometimes complicated, and he doesn't cut corners.  Personally, I am much, much happier with a job done right than perfectly on-time. Finally, but perhaps most fundamentally, Chuck is honest to the core.  He negotiated with me respectfully and fairly, honored his commitments, and executed everything professionally.  He spent most of his time alone in my house, and I always felt comfortable and secure in every regard.  Around my family and pets, I was equally at ease.

We moved into a home that had gone under a bathroom renovation just prior to the sale. After living in the home for around year we started noticing the drywall and baseboards next to the tub/shower starting to erode. The drywall was crumbling, the baseboards (made with MDF) started to swell, mold started showing up and the floor tile started showing signs of water damage. We contacted the contractor and the first person that inspected it said it was due to water leaking into the back of the tub surround and it would probably need to be replaced, as the damage would continue to get worse. He said he would talk to his boss and see what he was willing to do although he stated he would likely fix the issue as he wants to make his customers happy. We were offered the option of ordering a new tub surround, paid for out of our own pocket and we could pay them to reinstall it. We did not agree with this so the owner himself, Garrett came out to inspect the damage. He stated that the only reason we had these water damage issues was because our bathroom did not have a ventilation fan. It does have a window and the house is over 40 years old and has never had one. He stated all damage was due to this reason. We did not agree and hired a licensed plumber to assess the situation as we knew water had to be leaking into the wall from somewhere. It turns out the shower faucet and diverter were installed completely wrong, according to the manufacturers clear instructions. They were not set back in the wall as they were intended and stuck out 1 1/2 inches too far and the diverter did not sit flush with the shower surround. There was a significant gap on one side, large enough to put a screw driver tool into the gap. This was disguised with caulking. Not only should there not have been a reason to have caulking there, they also used incorrect caulking and it did not hold up, so water was slowly seeping in the crack and causing damage every time someone took a shower. Extremely disappointing to buy a home with a new renovated bathroom and have it deteriorate in just over a year. Obviously they did not use a licensed plumber to install the plumbing fixtures and have not offered to repair and replace all the damaged areas on their dime. If you hire this company, please be very aware of who is actually doing the work in your home, and don't expect them to come back and fix any errors they may make.

We needed a new bathroom and heard about this company so we called and they came out measured everything, assessed the situation and gave us a estimate for the job. When they showed up to do the job they started in and didn't stop until most of it was done. We have only one bath so I was concerned that I would have to go to the local service station to use the bathroom but the guys made sure that I did not have to do that. This company is very good at what they do and I am having them come back next summer to do more work. You could not go wrong hiring them to do something for you.

The bathroom remodel was great. The bathroom was taken apart and couldn’t be used. After they finished everything was taken care of and it was all work able and looked amazing.

He did great in remodeling our 2 bathrooms. Price is affordable and work time frame is accurate, we'll definitely hire him again.
