Recent Review: Charles preformed this job in a very unprofessional way his lack of knowledge required me buying two extra boxes of flooring due to his waste. It took him three days to lay the floor and will not come back to fix the holes he left in the floor. He charged me $70 to dispose of the garbage then put the garbage in my neighbors dumpster..  I made the mistake of paying him before the job was completed. If you make the mistake of hiring him I recommend do not doing this you will never hear from him again. The flooring looks like it was laid by a amatuer. There are joints that do not meet correctly and holes from bad cuts that are very visible. I am having to use having to use half inch trim to cover the edges. This was suppose to be a floating floor but he nailed it in places.                                    I strongly recommend not using this company his shoddy work has taken the fun out of my remodel.

Recent Review: There was nothing in particular that I disliked. There was a little bit of problem in the communication time but other than that, everything was fine. The products and the service were good. My interaction with them was very good. The work turned out good. I had them come back and they were prompt to come back and fix it.

Recent Review: He is awesome! Not only do the floors look beautiful, but David does his work for a great price! It was a total of about 1700 square feet at $2/sq.ft. and $40 per stair. That was the most reasonably priced installation that I found, especially for such quality work. Other installers had quoted me for anywhere between $3-$4/sq.ft. Don't be skeptical because of the better price... he takes pride in his work and it shows. Plus he gave us tons of tips for removing the particle board below our vinyl kitchen flooring and lent us his tools while we were tearing everything out. We had also bought the wrong transitions, and he took them back to the store himself and traded them for the correct ones. As far as timing, he showed up exactly when he said he would and he worked all day, finishing our entire house in just 2.5 days. He went above and beyond for us and we couldn't be happier.

Recent Review: After the last tenants moved out, both the laminate flooring in a large part of a rental house I own and the carpeting in the bedrooms was, for all practical purposes, destroyed and had to be replaced. Based on good recommendations here on Angies List, we went by Big Bob's, picked out new laminate and carpet, and arranged to have the measurements done. Within a week, the old flooring was torn out and carted away, and the new flooring and carpet installed (two days of work). The installers were prompt, courteous and professional, both the flooring and the carpet were on sale, and the installation looks fabulous. I am very happy with their work!

Recent Review: Dave and his crew (the other two Dave's) went above and beyond, our carpet was the original carpet from 1979; it was very worn. Our floor was not level; they leveled our floor and took the time, more time than they had scheduled to do a stupendous job. They also repaired jobs not done right by other contractors. When they spliced the trim after removing the fireplace I could not tell where it was spliced. When the fireplace was removed they put up dry wall and also re-pop-corned our ceiling you almost cannot tell where the work was done and when I repaint the line where the new dry wall was put in will not show. I also am the envy of our neighborhood as when Dave put laminate in our front closet where the access to our crawlspace is he also put a latch for the crawlspace. We had also asked Dave to fix the steps to our shed he took the time to level them and disconnect them from the floor of the shed. I am amazed at the quality workmanship every time I go into the shed. Also we were having an issue with our screen door that was pulling off the hinges Dave fixed this without us even asking him to. I have also by word of mouth recommended this company to my neighbors and friends. I really appreciated the job that Dave and his crew did. I apologize for getting this review in so late.

Recent Review: I first met Josh while looking for a contracter to remodel my home. I had been through a long list of carpenters and all of them seemed uninterested and unresponsive. Upon meeting Josh he was attentive and knowlegable, and I had my estimate in hand within about two days. He was the lowest estimate by far and he seemed eager to work on my home so I gave the work to him. As soon as I gave him the go it was like a gun shot off and he went to work. He finished on time and significantly under budget on account that he was willing to look for sales on materials, and anywhere he was able to save money he did so. And when I recieved my invoice I was happy to see copies of all receipts and time cards. Being an accountant I appreciated being able to see the costs of adding value to my asset. I had such a good experience he is the first one I call for any household mishap. And he is always responsive and just takes care of what I need no matter how small. He's very clean with the messiness that comes with home renovations, and CALLS ME BACK! On a personal note he represented his company in a very professional and polite manner, but he was a joy to work with. Always smiling and joking. I liked him so much I recomend him to everyone I know. I only worry some day he'll be to busy for my honey-do's.

Recent Review: They came out and took measurements and was assured they would have everything needed to perform the installation. The weekend before we returned to the store to confirm everything was ready to go. We again were assured that everything would be available for installation that week. This is where things started to go down hill. They over estimated the amount of flooring to do the job (we have 8 extra boxes left) and under estamated the amount of transition pieces needed. They did not tell us that the interior doors would no longer work as they were too long and would be needed to cut down to size. We had to remove and reinstall all the baseboards ourselves as the company would not do that. They did not have enough transition pieces to complete the job and so now they have to order more and install those. In the closets where there is no baseboards they told us to get some 3/4 round and install it to hide where the floor meets the wall. They removed both toilets and insisted we purchase new hardware for the reinstallion of the toilets or they would not reinstall them. In less than 16 hours after installation the toilet was discovered to be leaking and we are talking with the company to have this remedied. On top of all this the installer took 2 days to install the floor. In the future I will not have any work done by this company. They work slow, under or over estimates the amount needed. Does only half the job expected (such as base boards, transition pieces for the closet wall and where the flooring meets the carpet). Will update as we talk with the company about the situation.

We love our new floors!  We had visitors coming soon and wanted new floors.  Forbess scheduled the job quickly and finished in plenty of time.  Great attention to detail, always arrived on time, and they were very nice, too.  We will definitely use Forbess again.  Highly recommended!

Chris Forbes was amazing when it came to communication about getting my flooring. I was living in Colorado when my flooring was done and Chris kept me informed every step of the way. The finished product exceeded my expectations and added value to my home. Could not have asked for more when it come to professionalism and skill. On top of that my neighbors said that the gentleman that installed the flooring was very polite and installed the flooring quickly.

AForbess Floor Covering
After making the decision last year to invest in new flooring in our 10-year-old house, my husband and I checked out a half dozen carpet and flooring stores in Anchorage, including Lowe's, Giant Don's, Sav-on Floors, and Curtis and Campbell. The big box stores had limited inventory and we were not impressed by or confident in the knowledge or integrity of their sales staff, let alone their installation contractors. We liked the selection at Curtis and Campbell, but couldn't connect with their installer. Finding the perfect product for our radiant heat floors was overwhelming, and it was complicated by the layout of the main living area and the many stairs connecting the lower level with the upstairs. Months went by. We researched websites, read reviews, compared costs, and finally checked Angie's List. There we learned about Forbess Flooring in Wasilla. The reviews on Angie's List gave us the incentive to investigate the business, but it was Dewey, the owner, who won us over. He has been in the flooring business all of his life, so he has a thorough understanding of the products he sells and has a lifetime of experience installing various materials. I'm not sure what impressed me the most, the fact that he was a man of his word, fair in his pricing, took pride in his work or cleaned up after each day's work. The fact is, all of these things are important when you're investing in a home improvement. Dewey's son, Chris, also was easy to work with, and a great help in coordinating our schedules. I am a picky, skeptical consumer, but I recommend Forbess Flooring without reservation. Dewey and Chris have a business they care about, and lucky for us they were good at it.

It went fine. We installed the flooring ourselves. We just checked around the price of the laminate flooring and they had a good price on the particular product. We just ordered and picked it up. They were just a volume flooring type of place and there was nothing fancy. We would probably use them again.
