Always On Call Mountain Mechanical Corp
Recent Review: I called Mountain Mechanical on a weekend hoping they would have someone who could come out and fix my sump pump after finding over a foot of water in my crawl space, and calling several other companies who don't have an after hours service. They had a technician available who was very honest about what the cost would be and was also able to check my heating system and give me an estimate for a humidifier in addition to getting all the water out of my crawl space. He got my sump pump working and got rid of all the water, and all it took was a new motor. Once he had assessed the sump pump he came up and explained to me what it needed and exactly what it would cost so there wouldn't be any surprises. After he was done with that he inspected my heating system, including my furnace, hot water heater, and my unit heater, and also gave me the estimate for the humidifier I have been wanting for a very long time. When I got the bill I was pleasantly surprised to find that he had only charged me the call out fee, the cost of the sump pump motor, and their special rate of $39.95 to inspect my heating system, even though he was there for about three hours since he had to drain the crawl space down so he could get to my sump pump. The $39.95 special they run is only for the inspection and does not include any repairs or parts, but he was very honest about that before he did it and made sure to take the time for me to understand that if my system needed any repairs there would be an additional charge for that. I thought this was a great deal since the $39.95 probably only covers the technicians time and nothing else. My unit didn't need any repairs or parts so the only charge was the $39.95 for the inspection. I had some questions about my heating system and some concerns I had with its ability to keep functioning since it is an older unit. The technician was more than willing to explain to me what things I might notice happening if my system begins to fail so I can hopefully catch the problem before I end up with no heat in the middle of winter. When I asked about an estimate for getting it replaced if I wanted to he wrote on the invoice a quick estimate for its replacement and said that it would be good for quite awhile, but reassured me my current unit was working just fine, and it still is. I also asked about a higher efficiency furnace and the benefits and costs of installing one, which he also wrote up an estimate for and reassured me that he himself had done lots of them, as had his fellow technicians at the company. The company seems like they want to make sure their customers are taken care of and they have always been very honest with me and when I had previously had them come out for other services, Mountain Mechanical came in with the best price, and by far the best service I have ever received. As a women I sometimes worry that since I don't know anything about my heating system that someone might try and rip me off and charge me for a bunch of stuff I don't need, but with Mountain Mechanical they break down all of the charges on an invoice, that I got a copy of, so if i want to compare prices I can, and save the service record for my files. When I called in to schedule the humidifier install the ladies in the office were very nice and professional, glad to help me get the appointment scheduled, and were willing to work with me around my work schedule. Overall I had a great experience with Mountain Mechanical and will definitely keep using them. I am planning a bathroom remodel soon and will likely stick with Mountain Mechanical.

Recent Review: Shane came over with his crew and they spent the entire day at the house.  And we do mean all day.  They installed a 97 percenct efficient furnace, a HEPA filter and a humidifier.  They also redid some duct work in the crawl space to that heat was more evenly distributed.  They also installed a heat lamp and exhaust fan in the master bathroom.  All the workers were professional and friendly.  When we noticed the next day that the outdoor exhaust was too close to the soffets, Shane came right over and checked it out.  They moved the piping (not a simple thing for our garage) and also changed out the fan in the humidifier which was quite loud.  He came to inspect one more time and didn't like the way certain things were finished in the garage so had his crew come back one more time to clean up the cosmetic side of the installation.  Way beyond normal customer service. I would highly recommend this business if you need a new furnace.  Some companies don't like to come out to Eagle River or will charge you extra for this.  Extreme is in the Valley and had no problem with the commute.

I chose Moore after receiving 3 bids, checking Angies list and some friends who used them.  The sales person was on time, listened well and provided an estimate quickly. He was knowledgable about the Angies list coupon and other rebate offers from Lennox.  The installers were on time, courteous and professional.  I interacted with them throughout the installation and was impressed by their attention to detail and desire for high quality work.  They took time to address my questions and make sure I understood and could operate the new high-tech thermostat.. Later, the office staff got me the paperwork for the manufacturers rebate very quickly.  Overall, a positive experience with a company that seems committed to quality and customer satisfaction.

It took three trips to figure out the lack of heat but the problem was eventually solved by a manager.

The techs who come out to the house are always very frieendly and professional and explain what they are doing nd why. I've used Moore several times and trust the service they provide. The only problem I've ever had with them was when I had a humidifier installed, the one recommended by Moore was not large enough for my house. The person who recommended it maintained that it was large enough, despite its not producing enough humidity, and that it was my choice to install the one that was installed. I am not a heating professional and made the choice based on his recommendation, which was incorrect on his part. That said, everyone else with whom I dealt at Moore was committed to replacing the smaller one with a correct-sized one, thus I am pleased overall, but somewhat annoyed by that one person who did not take responsibility for his recommendation, which ended up wasting my time and costing me more.

AAnchorage Plumbing and Heating
I recently bought a home where the home inspector noticed that the condensate trap was leaking. This furnace (under the previous home owners') was maintained by another company but I decided to give Anchorage Plumbing and Heating a try based on Angie's List reviews. I am glad I did. The technician Charlie is really good and very thorough. He checked things to be sure everything is working, and that's how he found that the flue was just sitting on top of the furnace. He fixed the issue. I was so happy with the service that I gave the technician a tip which I only reserve for A+ service. I am keeping my furnace maintenance with Anchorage Plumbing and Heating from now on.

I called Mountain Mechanical because of their advertised low inspection price.   The "smiling, we're happy to be here" gentlemen arrived punctually and completed their responsibilities.  My wife and I were so pleased we've had them back during the fall of every year since.  In between, they have replaced our sink disposal unit.  And, we had them install a complete home humidifier system in the fall of 2011.  Although we've had several problems with the system itself, Mountain Mechanical (specifically Matt) has continually come and worked deligently to rectify them as they occurred.  There has never been any additional charge, and they have updated the one-year warranty each time.  I doubt their prices are much better or worse, overall, than any of their major competitors, but they sure do know how to make you feel comfortable with very detailed explanations of work being performed.  And, time was politely taken to allow me to write down in detail, specific guidance with regard to minor humidifier problem solving.  We plan to use them when time comes to replace our current furnace.
