Didn't learn our lesson the first time. A couple of years ago bought a furnace Groupon from the firm. Hired help showed up and did a sloppy and rushed inspection. Was there for less than 10 minutes and didn't clean up afterwards. I like to support local business, so in August (2016) I called and talked to Tony. He explained that he no longer used hired help, as they turned out to be too undependable. I thought I would take a chance and booked an appointment for Tony to take a look at our gas fireplace that wouldn't light. Tony arrived on time and completed a routine inspection. There was nothing actually wrong, I just didn't know how to light the pilot light. Tony showed me how, showed me that the fireplace worked and then turned it of. At my request, the left the pilot light burning. Total time less than 15 minutes. I was a bit surprised when he presented a bill for $148.00, less 10% Angie's list discount. When I questioned it, Tony replied it was his standard one hour call out charge. I than inquired if I was paying for an hour of his time, would he mind also doing a furnace inspection. Tony was very agreeable and did so. Inspection was through and he was helpful in showing me a few things to watch for. Total time spent at the house about 45 minutes. We didn't actually use the fireplace until the end of November. When we tried to turn it on for the first time, it wouldn't light. The pilot light was burning (as it had been since August), but the fireplace would not light. I called Tony and identified myself and the work he had done. He said he didn't recall doing the work, but was initially helpful and walked me through a few trouble shooting steps, with no success. Tiny then indicated he couldn't really say why it wasn't working. When Tony's over the phone troubleshooting didn't work, I indicated I would appreciate a courtesy , rather than service call when he was passing by and happened to have a few extra moments. At that point, Tony became very rude and belligerent. He told me not even to go there, and reminded me that I had given him a bad Groupon review, that I had balked at the paying the bill for showing me how to light the pilot light, and then asked him to spend the remaining time doing a furnace inspection. At that point, I commented that it sounded that what he was saying was that we were out of luck. He replied. that's right. Evidently Tony did recall the work his firm had done both times. Bottom line....Tony is responsive to new new customers, and very helpful, and Can't really speak to the quality of his work, as what he did worked one time, didn't work the second time and the option to have it corrected cut off. Tony can easily become very rude and belligerent when questioned about the charges for his work and his willingness to stand behind the quality of his work. Customer beware, if you question Tony be ready for weather a rude and belligerent response.
