ADesigner Decks
Doug Jones is truly a master of his craft, which is clearly demonstrated in the quality of the work performed by him and his crew. During the initial consultation, he clearly explained the various options available and answered all my questions completely. He emailed schematics of the deck to make sure all the measurements were correct, and then sent a quote. The work was scheduled for a week later. He and his crew arrived at the time they said, and amazingly the deck was completed in one day. I was expecting it to take at least two days. Everything was clean and tidy when they left. I was amazed with how the deck turned out and could not be happier with the results.

It went very well. He is a private licensed handyman. We have used him before to replace the screening in a pool enclosure at our rental home. He does a very thorough job and cleaned up afterwards. He doesn't stop until you are totally satisfied with what he is doing. He is very easy to work with. He is also a disabled Vet. We have put his cards out several places and have referred him. His price is fantastic. We had other estimates that were well above what he was charging.

Andy and his team were great to work with every step of the way. Professional, thorough and very accommodating when I requested a couple of modifications from the original design. Andy was very good about keeping me updated on progress before the work started and made sure I was completely satisfied, regularly checking in during construction. Couldn't be more pleased with the end result. Great company to work with.

They stayed for the whole 6 hours and there were no additional fees. It turned out pretty good. The quality of the painting of the furniture was great, but the wood deck was a challenging task.

Work fine. Price too high. Lectured by vendor when I provided this feedback PRIVATELY (even though I am paying the bill and never asked for a discount). The vendor did not know this but the work had to be done that morning lest the occupant have no safe ingress/egress. With this in mind, I agreed to the price so the work would get done immediately, but the price was objectively high relative to material or time. I mentioned this (never once saying I would not pay) and the vendor lectured me on how I should have handled this better (than private feedback to the vendor??). Maybe there was some truth in my private constructive criticism? Who knows, but whatever the thought process the vendor gets a low mark from me for both the price and the response to my one-on-one feedback that never appears in this review but for the lecture. Strange way to treat a paying customer.

AHouse MD Handyman Services LLC
The owner of the company, Chad Dickey, appeared to be comfortably competent and comfortable with the tasks required. He worked well and found simple, creative solutions to some basic problems. Example: Recliner referenced above kept catching on the floor as it was returned to an upright position. After attempting to adjust the foot panel (which had been previously done by others) he came up with a solution of raising the the feet of the recliner by about an inch. He was able to manufacture the shims and stained them so that they coordinated with the existing legs. Example: Unattached handicapped ramp at threshold would shift and became a tripping hazard. The ramp is designed to attach to a door threshold but was about 4 inches too wide for the doorway and would have necessitated cutting down the ramp. It would also have required removing part of the wooden strip at the base of the threshold. Chad simply put the ramp in place and used two screws to attach the ramp to the concrete floor in the carport.

They stained the wood decks with the correct deck stain and it is a pleasure to look at and walk on the decks again. They also did some repairs on our dock and stained it. They did more than we expected, even stained under the stairs. Three years ago we had the same wood decks painted by another company and were very unhappy with their work. What a difference! And in addition Sunrise Painting pressure washed the whole house outside walls, the pool deck, etc. for a total lower price than the previous contractor.

This man charges reasonable prices. He is a great guy who is wonderful and polite. If you ask him to do something he will work on things for you. He returns your calls within a reasonable time. He always cleans up after he is finished with his work. He completes the job in a reasonable time.

Business Description: We offer services that encompass your entire home.No job is too small, depending on distance and the scope of the work to be done. We take pride in doing quality work in a timely fashion. Our goal is to save the consumer as much money as possible, without compromising our ethics or crafstmanship. Ron has over 25 years of experience, and is directly involved in every project, no matter the size. References are available on request. For protection of both parties, once a quote is recieved by consumer, they have 30 days to initiate their project; this is neccessary due to the fact that material costs fluctuate rapidly. Upon agreement, there will be a payment due for an amount agreed upon by both parties determined by the amount of materials needed to begin project. We will never be ahead of you on monies dispursed. That is, we will only recieve monies neccessary to keep the work flowing. There are many variables in payment/scheduleing, which we will work out in order to not overburden the consumer, as well as our workers, and to reach our end-date on time. Payment types are flexable i.e. cash, credit, or check. this will be determined upon contract signing. Commonly, there is an initial payment due the week prior to the day of project start date. This payment will be determined by the amount of materials, and any incidentals needed. Materials for smaller jobs are sometimes covered by us, and included in the cost of project upon completion. Jobs that take one day or less, should be paid in full upon completion of work. In the event that "unseen" repairs or damages occur, the consumer will be responsible for any materials needed. Many times, depending on the circumstances and the amount of work needed, the consumer may not be charged any additional labor costs. We are not out to make large amounts of money on any one job. Our aim is to have the consumer use our services repeatedly. And, pass our name along to others. We also offer discounted prices on installations of handicap accessability aids, i.e. hand rails, ramps, etc.

Recent Review: They did a very nice job with the ramp.  They did come back to modify the ramp and make it less steep.  They were very innovative and charged a fair price for the work.  The refrigerator looks very good and fits perfectly now.  I will very likely use them again in the future for additional projects including repairing the ceiling in the garage, hanging ceiling fans, etc.
