Recent Review: We were very pleased with all aspects of the job. The job cost a lot, but I have no reason to believe that what we paid for the work was any higher than what we would have had to pay anyone else.

Recent Review: The cement work was VERY well done, the clean up was not so great.  My driveway had a lot of residue left.  I love my sidewalk & they were very pleasant people to work with.  I would definitely recommend them to all of Angie's List.  Can't beat the price!  Very reasonable!

Recent Review: Working with Architectural Concrete was a pleasure.  Mark responded quickly to my request for an estimate and provided a thorough and competitive bid.  Although they were booked up near-term, we set a start date a few months out.  Their planning must be pretty good, because we ended up starting the project on time. Once the project started, Mark's crew worked consistently and diligently and the project progressed quickly.   I had some rough designs sketched out of what I wanted to see and Mark took the time to make sure he understood what I wanted and checked in with me at each stage to make sure I was happy.  In some cases, my design thoughts were not optimal / practical and Mark was able to provide some good feedback so that the proper adjustments could be made.  Even when the project was complete, Mark came back to make some final tweaks to make sure I was happy.  Mark's crew (3 to workers) on the Architectural Concrete team were all skilled and knew their roles.  They worked well as a team, which resulted in a successful project that was completed in a timely manner.

Recent Review: They did a good job. They were responsive and got back to me right away. I contacted other company’s and they didn’t respond. They answered the questions. They were good in negotiating. Only thing I didn’t like is that they couldn’t take the credit card payments. They had good information. They cleaned up. I would use them in the future.

Recent Review: In additionThe job went wonderfully.  He surprised me with great quality, tying in the sidewalk and slab with the existing driveway.  I had a difficulty angled sewer access port right in the walkway which he solved by getting a box shaped housing and grate.  He dug it out, cut down and recapped it so the grate would fit over the top with a flush mount to the new sidewalk.  He also perfectly lined up the grate with the sidewalk so no tripping hazard anymore.  In addition, with the direct drains, we were able to get rid of the drain pans that also created a tripping hazard as they crossed the sidewalk on two corners of the house.  I am extremely pleased with his work and ingenuity.  Highly recommend for any cement work needed.  We chose lightly brushed finish and got exactly that.

J & N Concrete
Recent Review: It was a referral from my neighbor.  I would use them again, and now that I know more about how concrete is poured, I would have additional questions for them that I wish I would have asked before.  I had to remind them to do a couple of things.  I had requested that conduit be put underneath the concrete before it was poured to be able to get under there if I had to run any sprinkler system or low voltage lines for lighting and they forgot to do that.  So they had to come back out and do that.  They did get that resolved though.  I just wish they had done it before because we had discussed it before hand.  They had many jobs going at once and I understand that.  So depending on the number of jobs they already had, determined when they could come out here.  They couldn’t just give me a date because they already had work in progress, and I understand that.

COOK'S CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION
Recent Review: The system involved excavating down some 4 to 5 feet around the basement walls, repairing the walls, applying a rubberize mastic system to the exterior side, installing a drainage system that relieved the hydrostatic pressure forcing water up through the concrete basement floor and walls. Because of the low elevation of the basement floor (i.e below street level), determing where the water could be drained to was a major concern (i.e. water flows downhill unless pumped). Work was completed in 2006. Our basement has remained dry since completion of the work (even through all the big rainstorms).

Recent Review: Jake at Lanco was one of the landscapers that we requested a quote from.  He was very punctual and professional had great ideas for solving our landscaping issues.  While we ultimately decided to go with another company for this project, I would definitely consider consulting Lanco again for future landscaping jobs.

The phone number listed in Angie's list was incorrect but the website was listed so I went there and got the correct number. I called ATA at 8:30 on a Monday morning. He agreed to stop by on his way to another job and give me a quote. He arrived an hour later and we went over the work, we agreed on a price, and he said he would let me know when they could start. He called later that morning to see if they could start that day and I said of course. They showed up a few hours later and started preparing the area for the forms. Work continued through out the week and by Thursday night the concrete was poured and covered. Friday they returned, removed all the forms, repaired the planter, cleaned up the work area and left. I was very pleased with the quality of the work, the speed of the work, and that they cleaned up the work area each night before they left.
