Recent Review: Last year, DJ completely remodeled our kitchen to top notch HGTV quality. He did such a great job that we moved up the timetable and hired him to do the same for our master bathroom & fireplace. This time, we basically turned him loose to do what he does best. With his help, we picked out the granite, cabinets & tile. We left the rest to him. Along with some additional minor renovations, DJ has transformed our 37 year old house to a modern, like new, warm and inviting home that we are now proud to entertain in. I am convinced that there is no better choice than to hire DJ for your project.

Recent Review: Bubba came to our home and gave us a bid for the work we needed done.  He arrived the day of impending rains just to put a new cap on the chimney so there would not be any leaks.  He came the next day to repair the mortar and screen.  He was pleasant and his work was exemplary.  We would highly recommend Bubba.  He had done extensive flagstone walkways, etc. for the previous owner of our home and after 10 years, the work he did still looks great.

Recent Review: Overall, we received an excellent value and quality for what we spent on the remodel. Prestige has a showroom were you can select most of the materials you want- cabinets, granite, tile, hardwood, carpet. This is very helpful. The owner, Francisco is a very polite, helpful and professional. He goes above and beyond to meet your expectations. If something is not right, he will make it right. The job started on April 14, 2014 and was finished on August 8, 2014. We are very pleased with our " new" home ! This is a 2nd home for us; our primary residence is in the Houston area. As a result, we did have some issues that I believe might not happen if you are living in your home. Still, I feel it is important to disclose the good and the not so good. 1- the workers caused minor damage to the exterior of our home: scrapes to the painted exterior, damaged window screens, water hose holder ripped out of the brick, soffit cracked, 2 broken sprinkler heads, and damaging landscaped areas by cleaning paint tools in my yard! The contractor repaired the damage except for the landscaping and offered to replace the window screens. We replaced the screens out of our own pocket because it was easier. 2- we specifically asked that no one worked on our flagstone porch. The workers did use the flagstone porch as a work area while the contractor was on vacation and it showed! 3- we visited the house every weekend during the job. A few times, we arrived to find the door unlocked or windows left open when no one was working at our house. 4- we specifically asked that finished surfaces like the wood floors and granite be covered with paper or plastic while work was done. This didn't always happen and there are areas on the wood floor where paint was obviously cleaned up. This is mostly in the dining room and the table will hide the area that is lighter due to paint being removed from the wood. 5- the workers were not very good about cleaning up at the end of each day or removing construction trash on a regular basis. 6- some items went "missing " from our garage during the job- a Yeti cooler and a mirrored plant stand. We told the contractor as soon we noticed the missing items. Of course, none of his employees knew what happened and the contractor believed his employees. The contractor offered to repay us for the missing items, but we declined. We will replace the items out of our own pocket just as we did for the damaged window screens and broken sprinkler heads. Other issues related to the renovation include: 1- the wrong tile was installed in a bathroom. I like the tile, it just wasn't what I originally selected. We kept the tile. Be sure to verify your selections with the contractor before they are installed! 2- the cabinets for the kitchen and bathrooms arrived about 3 weeks late; this was a manufacturer issue and not the contractor, but the delay caused the project to finish late. I would recommend Prestige because the quality of the finished product for the price, is very good. I will use Prestige to makeover my garage interior.

At Your Service
Recent Review: We wanted an updated office with new paint and crown moulding as well as an upgraded fireplace/mantel combination.   Rocky Thompson responded to our initial phone call with a prompt reply and a date to come buy and review the proposals.  He provided an initial quote for the library and living room work.  He also reviewed all plans and made recommendations for us to consider in the work. After accepting the bid he scheduled a date to complete the work. Rocky completed the work on the dates proposed.  There was no drama and he was very accessible when asked questions. During the course of the work there were multiple decisions that were required and Rocky confirmed them with us prior to making decisions that might impact the appearance or quality of the work.  We were given options to alter the work if we wanted, for example, the width or height of the new fireplace hearth.    After completing all work but installation of the new mantel (which had to be ordered after the hearth was completed due to the need to make exacting measurements) Rocky provided guidance on the ordering process and provided quality measurements that the mantel builder used.  After the mantel was recieved about 4 weeks later, Rocky schedled a date to come and install  We requested some additional work which he quoted (very reasonable) and completed which included some minor sheetrock repairs, painting, door installation and caulking. All work was completed to our satisfaction and we are exceedingly happy with the results.  The work is very "custom" and exceeded expectations.  Rock was truly a craftsman and many friends have reviewed the work and are impressed at the quality.

Recent Review:                          I read about Masonry Arts on Angie's List in 2010 and had the owner, Bob Abel, out to my home for an estimate at that time.  We delayed the project for about a year, but when I called Bob for an updated estimate he remembered me and my project.  He returned with his book of project photos so that my husband and I could get an idea of the appearance of the finished fireplace.  He spent quite a bit of time with us discussing stone options.  Bob called me with a revised estimate within a few days and we decided to go forward with the project.                        Demolition of the old fireplace took place around noon on a Tuesday.  Bob's masonry crew covered my tile floor with plywood and drop cloths for protection, then proceeded to remove the old oak mantel and brick face. As Bob had warned me, it was a very dusty demolition, but his crew was finished and gone within two hours.  I had asked them to return Thursday to lay the new stone since I had other contractors coming to handle other aspects of the project (that's another report!)  As it turned out, they were not able to return until Saturday, but once they came back they lost no time getting the new stone fireplace installed.  Bob was on site for both the demolition and most of the construction of the new fireplace, a service my husband and I appreciated.  On his advice, we used Sienna limestone in a variety of sizes; we requested that they install two pieces as support corbels for the new mantel, which they did.  His crew again protected our floors and left no debris on the street or anywhere on our property.                        There was more to our project than simply replacing the brick; the interior of the fireplace needed repair and we wanted to run electricity and cable inside the wall so that we could mount a TV above the fireplace.  A general contractor gave me a bid to run the entire project, but her bid was quite vague and I was not comfortable doing business with her.  I decided to act as my own general contractor and am very pleased with the outcome, thanks in large part to the quality of work that Masonry Arts did.  We look forward to working with Bob again in the future.

Badly.  Telephone reception poor as individual was new, uninformed and not at all knowlegeble.  Product was / is fine.  Installation was sloppy.  Company failed to arrive when promised on TWO occasions.  Will never do business with them again

I did not feel good about him telling me that information without inspecting the gas log fireplace and I did not use him. I have called someone else coming for a second opinion.
