Recent Review: After seeing their product at the Minneapolis Home & Garden show we were convinced that this was the right product for our porch improvement work. The guys from EZ-Screen brought samples to our home to help us select frame color and installation method. They took careful measurements of all of the window and door openings and put our order in motion. A few weeks later our windows and door were delivered. We did this work at the same time we had some exterior siding work done by another contractor. We arranged to have that contractor do the actual installation of the EZ-Screen product. The rep from EZ-Screen came out to our site when the installation started to ensure that our contractor understood how to properly install the windows and door. Everything went smoothly and contractor commented on how easy the windows went in. After three full seasons of use we still enjoy the product and we're pleased that we chose this as part of our porch renovation. It has added several additional months to our porch usage in our short Minnesota summer seasons. I highly recommend this product for any new screen porch or porch renovation job!
Recent Review: This is the second time we have hired D-Mar and David Martinez to do work at our home. The first job was inside the home, making new cabinet doors for our kitchen renovation. He did such a great job, when we decided to do some outside renovations, David was the only contractor we wanted. Initially we were just wanting the porch ceilings replaced and the porches and trim painted. After David came to give us the quote, he recommended we do a few additional things to improve the appearance and functionality of the homes exterior. I had budgeted $5000 for the job, and without the additional things that David recommended, we would have been well under budget. I think David is a perfectionist, and he made a good case for why we would want to have him do the additional work he recommended. We decided to have David do the job with all of his recommendations, Which put us slightly over the amount we had wanted to spend, but was worth every additional penny! I mention all this because, as homeowners, we generally know what we want, but we are not professional contractors. David's knowledge and expertise led us to spending a little more money, but gave us so much more than we expected! Our 40-year old farmhouse has been rejuvenated! We're already making plans for the next project we'll be hiring David's company to do. David and his whole crew are a pleasure to work with, honest, professional, personable... Everything you would want from a contractor.

Recent Review: I had a raised wooden deck with a pergola. Breezy By Nature removed the pergola, installed a porch roof and screened it in. They did an excellent job and the project was completed within a week. It looks like it was always a part of the house. To keep bugs out, they caulked all around the edges where the porch meets the house and even screened under the deck ay my request. They also used “superscreen” on the porch, which is stronger and can withstand our cats climbing on it. Henry Parker, the owner, was great to work with. We have really been enjoying the porch. It has added a lot more usable space to our house.
The idea was beautiful but the quality was not good. The nails and screws are drilled so deep in the wood that it's now going to rot. It's a wooden deck with concrete holding the posts in at the bottom. It's cable decking, and they're loose. They're also mis-matched. One side has six cables and other has seven. The boards are not flush with the foundation. It's bowed and not straight at all. All of their pencil marks were left on the deck. They even wrote an address for their next job on it and stained it. The person he hired to help do the work was unqualified. It was supposed to take 2-4 weeks but it took eight. We told them we were going to have an inspector check out the work before we paid him and Brent got very angry and cursed at us.

AStructure Builders Over Texas
The glowing reviews here are earned. After having plenty of headaches with remodeling contractors in San Antonio, I was lucky to find Structure Builders. I hired Rudy and his team to add a covered porch off the back of my home and the entire process went exactly as it should. His carpenters clearly knew what they were doing and recommended some simple upgrades to my design. They showed up everyday and often worked until dark. Best of all, their bid was more affordable than most others and there was no wrangling over unexpected costs along the way. Rudy runs a tight ship and pays for good talent that can handle most any type of construction. My new porch looks great. I was impressed and will recommend them to my neighbors without hesitation.

ATexas Outdoor Escapes
Tony Godsey and his crew were great. He arrived right on time for the estimate. They began the project only one day late despite three days of rain that I expected would delay them much longer. The crew worked efficiently and got the job done exceptionally well. Everything was done exactly as Tony explained it during his estimate. I have no doubt the porch will last for years with the engineering and quality the crew put into the entire process. I've seen the mess concrete work can make, but this crew maintained an pretty clean work area and after the work was done, except for the new porch, there was little evidence concrete work had taken place at the house.

ANabors Contracting — Johnny On The Spot
The large front porch of our house is built of wood, and we had noticed signs of deterioration. We also had problems with a newly installed front door that was sticking. We found that the porch had been built from untreated lumber (17 years ago)--the weight of the sagging porch had pulled the door frame askew. Mr. Nabors and his crew removed the old porch and replaced it with a very sturdy porch of treated wood. This porch should definitely last our lifetime--it is really solid. He did an amazing job of shoring up the porch roof while the porch was removed and reconstructed. He jacked up the door frame and leveled it out--the door opens and closes beautifully. He painted the porch and the trim that had been replaced during the process. What used to be an eyesore now adds real curb appeal to the house. In the course of working on the porch, he also discovered that the ducts for our air conditioning were leaking cold air. He crawled under the house and repaired the leak free of charge. He also did not charge us for adjusting the door frame. The front patio is made of pavers, some of which had sunk since sand had leaked under the porch. The new porch facing (made from hardiboard) will prevent further leakage, and the crew replaced the sand and refitted the pavers. He responded to our call for an estimate the same day we made it, had an estimate for us the next day, and began work the day after that. His crew was very hard working, very pleasant, and left the worksite clean and tidy every day. We will definitely hire Mr. Nabors and his crew for any future home projects. Highly recommended.

DDIVERSIFIED REMODELING & REPAIR
The workmanship left a great deal to be desired. On the deck all of the boards start and end on the same floor joist, they are not staggered. The railing was not 90 degrees and was not sturdy. We added supports that straightened and strengthened the railing. We have had a leaking roof from the very beginning and the contractor has attempted to fix the problem three times. I asked him to meet me at the house to evaluate the problem but he always showed up and "fixed" the problem when no one was home. Standing on the street you can see the joint between the old roof and the new porch roof. I am now going to hire a professional to stop the leaks. He tried but just doesn?t meet the standard. Don't trust this contractor to design the project. Do the design yourself and be very specific. If you aren't familiar with construction principles you would be well served to hire a more expensive contractor. I have a job for inside the house but this contractor will not be called to provide a bid.

CStone Oak Construction
I had multiple conversations with Keith Jones and he came out to the house twice. At our next meeting he was going to bring us some designs based upon our discussion. The next person who came out was Dale, and it was like starting from scratch and he gave us a completely different estimate than what Mr. Jones had. We were under the impression that they were playing one part of the company against the other. We felt pressured and thought that was unethical and decided not to use them at all. One estimate was for $4,700 and the other estimate that Dale gave was $10,000. We wanted to move forward with the design plan but that never happened. It was for a simple flagstone patio and steps up to the pool. I did call them back to tell them why we did not use them. We just felt everything fell apart as far as follow through and professionalism.

A nightmare. In 2 hours on first day, 8 men removed the 15 x 15 foot deck (it would have been fine with 2 men) and by Day Two the new one was up. What's the problem?? He used UNTREATED wood for the deck! By the time I found out it was up already. I told him to stop the job. He convinced me a few coats of Sherwin Williams was all it needed to protect it and he'd have to requote me and be paid to tear down and start over with treated wood. I felt extremely rushed and foolishly let him continue. We had discussed extra wide Trex stairs you could turn around on while carrying a tray of drinks and BBQ. The steps were built just 9 inches wide! Standard is 11. I asked for 13 wide. He then tore down HALF the stairs and built another set 10 1/2 inches wide. This stair now did not match the other half left from the first set and looked completely ridiculous. 2 sets of mismatched stairs one inch apart - see photo. He insisted they were extra wide and sent a photo of his own size 9 sneaker that didn't even fit on the stair. See photo. He installed flimsy $40 screen doors on an $18,000 project. He put a door handle on only one side of one door without the other half of the handle or a latch. How are you supposed to keep the door shut? He said in front of 3 witnesses he did not know how to install door handles or build stairs. This man hires workers but doesn't oversee them. He appears to have no hands-on construction experience. The abundance of laborers do mediocre work but work so fast you can't stop them to make corrections. He was to use TREX weatherproof material to make the stairs. Instead he used cheap knock-off product and said Trex was not available. I went to Home Depot and saw it on the shelf. He built the handrail from wood and just screwed a fake-trex board over the top. Ridiculous looking! See photo. Thank you for reading and if you use this man, write extremely long detailed contracts and watch his hired workers every minute. I asked for a new set of stairs and gave lengthy details, or offered for him to deduct the cost of stairs and let my handyman build them. He chose to deduct and leave, thank goodness. He offered a 2 year warranty. I asked for 5 and he said he would give that if I paid him $3000 every 2 years to restain the little porch. Three thousand dollars!! We agreed I would pay his laborer $20/hr. to watch while I have my handyman do it in a couple of hours. None of that would have been needed if he had used treated lumber. I have written multiple times asking for my 10 year roof warranty and he has not responded to date.

ABreezy By Nature
They designed the porch, ordered the materials, and then assembled the porch on site. The lead builder did an outstanding job. The work is meticulous and fits perfectly with the rest of the house. Included in the price was electrical work to install a ceiling fan.
