J C COATS PLUMBING & WELL REPAIR
Recent Review: Our basement sewage pump broke for the third time in a month. We had a septic tank company come out several times to repair it, but it kept breaking and they gave up. Two plumbing companies said they couldn't help me. Seriously? I found JC Coats through Angie's List. He picked up the phone right away and was at our house an hour later. An hour after that, he and his nice assistant had fixed the issue. (Hopefully--fingers crossed it sticks.) The total service bill was much lower than the cost of replacing the pump, thank God.  By the way, Mr. Coats is the nicest gentleman you might ever hope to meet.

Recent Review: About a year ago, this pump failed and we had another plumber come out and fix it. They told us we should replace it because it didn't have a fail-safe and had nearly burnt up running too hot. A few months ago, we called that same plumber and asked them to fix it. They came out and said that it was running fine and we shouldn't replace it yet. So, when it failed, we called first thing and they said they'd call us back when they had someone available. We waited for 4 hours with sewage backing up into our home before I said it was enough and called Project Services. Project Services arrived within 30 minutes of my call. They replaced everything and kept everything really clean which was amazing since the sewage pump is only accessible through the interior of the house and must be removed and carried through carpeted areas. They also added an alarm that will alert us if the pump is malfunctioning.

Recent Review: Even though nothing really appeared to be wrong with my sewage pump, the alarms would come on occasionally for a few seconds (like after a toilet flush) or for several minutes (usually happened in the middle of the night for unknown reasons). Randall and Mark came out to inspect the pump. They found that the two floats that trigger the alarm were covered in solid build up that had just accumulated over time and were no longer sitting correctly in the tank. They busted it up and gave me a few pointers on how to prevent the buildup. The whole thing took less than an hour. Despite the price ($350 just to inspect the pump, $50 for the bottle of enzyme. That might be standard, just seems high.) I'm pretty satisfied. They showed up early (they called first to make sure that was okay), worked quickly and professionally, and gave me a warranty on the work. If I have any new problems with my plumbing I'd probably give them another call.

Walter's Well Pump & Tank Service
Recent Review: Walter's Well was very professional and accommodating. I called him at 7:45am and told him that my 23yr old pump was only pumping about 30 lbs of pressure. He came out that afternoon and diagnosed the problem to be a bad pump. I had known a pump replacement was coming sooner than later and he gave me 2 options to replace it with. I did not feel any pressure from him to buy a more powerful pump but opted to anyway. He was able to replace it right there on the spot and it only took about 2 1/2 hrs. Seems like an honest guy and did everything I could have asked for.

Ace Pump Service
Recent Review: The owner and his assistant were very friendly and helpful. I was convinced we needed a new well pump when I called him, the pump being at least 15 years old, so I was relieved when they revived the pump motor with the new control box for considerably less money.

DJ C COATS PLUMBING & WELL REPAIR
Attempted to replace a working sewage pump that was only clogged.  They discovered this after we decided to get another plumber because we thought the cost of the replacement pump was too high.  Then they reinstalled the pump incorrectly so we had to hire another plumber to come out and fix it.

CBrown Brothers Plumbing & Heating Inc
About one year ago, our sewage pump stopped working and Brown Brothers came out and cleaned it out. They told us that we needed to replace the unit (in the future) because it didn't have a fail-safe on it and although it was clogged, it kept running and was very hot. So, in November, I scheduled a day for Brown Brothers to come out to replace the unit and took off of work. Only, once they got there, they said we shouldn't replace the unit because it was running fine and they had no clue what I was talking about when I mentioned the "fail safe." Instead, they prepared a written replacement quote a week later. When we scheduled the appointment, we asked repeatedly if they were going to replace it when we had our appointment or if they needed to come and get a model number to order the part. We were assured that they would do the work. So, I took the whole day off for nothing. Before the plumber left, I mentioned that our garbage disposal was backing up and the plumber took a plunger to it and charged us $120.00. And to make matters worse, it never fixed anything at all. So, 2 days ago, our sewage pump died which meant the sewage was backing up into our house. We called the Brown Brothers evening line and they told us to call back in the morning. So we called at 8am and we were told that when they had a plumber available, they'd give us a call. We had no idea when that would be. An hour? The next day? We waited until 12pm and called another plumber who said they would have someone there in 30 minutes. I called Brown Brothers back to tell them nevermind and was told again that they had planned to call when someone was available - probably after lunch. I had a bathtub full of sewage and I'm supposed to wait 18 hours for service? Why even have an on-call person?
