Recent Review: This review is shamefully overdue. Let's face it, it is not so easy to find a contractor. one hears horror story after horror story. I found Durable Remodeling and Dean Willette on Angie's List. There were very positive reviews, so I made an appointment with him to get an estimate for what work needed to be done. Durable is a three generation family, locally owned business, and that really appealed to me. Dean showed up when he said he would, gave us what I consider to be a very fair price for the work we needed done, and got it done on time and pretty much on budget. They team started on 12/2 and finished on 12/19/14, as planned. there's always stuff that comes up when you start working on an almost 60 year old house. he also hung up all of my curtain rods and blinds! I found Dean to be very responsive. My text messages and phone calls were answered promptly and I got the added benefit of text pictures to show what progress had been made. I would not hesitate to call on Durable again if work needed to be done in the future. I feel very confident in recommending Durable Remodeling for your renovation needs.
Recent Review: I was looking for contractors to do the above work. We went to the RI home show and spoke with a few contractors and after researching the companies I found Marshall Building and Remodeling by accident as they were not at the home show. Their reviews with Angies List and the BBB were all excellent and they have been in business for many years. My father was an independent contractor so I realize that really good contractors do not need to advertise, they get their business by word of mouth and repeat customers. They did all the work mentioned above, probably 1 to 2 weeks earlier than anticipated and were done in less then a week. They had quite a large crew, they were all excellent. They cleaned up after each day, there was no loud music playing and no foul language, all problems you generally hear about. Their work was second to none and I would definitely hire them again as well as recommend them.
Recent Review: Brian was a pleasure to work with. All of my questions and concerns were addressed in timely fashion, same day to be honestly. I was told it would take 5 weeks from start to finish. They were finished with my beautiful bathroom in 2 weeks. I am very happy with the results and if a need a major project done in the near future, I wouldn’t hesitate to call Creat Management
Recent Review: I cannot say enough good things about Dennis, Jason and their crew. They are careful, professional, and a real pleasure to work with. Their estimate was fair and reasonable and they did an outstanding job putting together my new kitchen. They attended to every detail and made sure everything was done perfectly. They started and finished on time and took less time to complete the project than I anticipated. In addition to remodeling, they do a variety of other contracting projects, including roofing, siding and house painting (my sister hired them to paint her enormous house in Warwick Neck, and the result was outstanding.) I would hire them in a heartbeat to do any other work I needed, and feel fortunate to have found them for my beautiful new kitchen.
Recent Review: From beginning thru end, Jeff and crew made the process very pleasant. There are going to be challenges in any complicated project, and we certainly ran into them in my 1973 home. Walls and ceilings that don't exactly line up anymore. Surprises discovered in the demolition. Original design that was not thought thru back in 1973. Vendors that deliver less than perfect pieces. JCS worked thru all these issues to reach workable solutions for me. Cost-wise, to sum it up, they charge a very reasonable price. They do the right thing. They handled extra issues while here, the "Plus" referring to remolding the adjoining den plus other issues that were on my "punch list" around the house. Jeff took care of all issues. He did not consider the job finished until every last issue was off the punch list. I believe his goal is to never end a ob without leaving a customer completely happy. The "Approximate cost of service" includes everything (cabinets, appliances, supplies on top of services). In my case, everything in the kitchen and dining room from head to toe was replaced. And many extras were done including adding a walk-out door. This was a very large job.

Recent Review: There’s nothing more than I can say that it was perfect. Rob was amazing. I initially hired a different contractor paid $9000 and I never saw the other contractor again. I was referred to Rob and I called him and he came over within 20 minutes . He started the job within three days and completed it in less than 10 days from start to finish new cabinets, new countertops, brand new hardwood floors, everything was perfect. I would recommend him highly. Thank you Rob.
Recent Review: Exceptionally well! This was our first home remodel where we hired a contractor and team. We have done other work/projects on our own around the house but knew for the money we planned on spending we wanted everything done right and timely. Bob, Julie, and Melo could not have been more professional and easy to work with! They provided detailed and itemized quotes and updates on a regular bases. Every junction was clearly defined and billing was easy to understand and match to the work completed. We added a few change orders that made the overall project a bit more than the original quote but we were kept up to date on everything we changed and knew what to expect. We are so happy to be back in our home and everyone who sees the finished work is extremely impressed.
As usual, A2Z did exceptional work! Rich remodeled our condo in 2013 and has been working with us every year. We live year round in Texas and Rich always winterizes our condo for us. This year he managed a furnace removal and install, installed 2 wifi thermostats, repaired a window, redid our Master Bedroom closet and researched changes to our kitchen. I recommend A2Z Renovations and Rich wholeheartedly!

It was stressful getting started, as remodeling can be at times. But once we got started and found the right contractor, the process really started to move forward quickly and affordability. As a new mom, every penny is accounted for and we got a fair price for good quality along with professionalism/personable. I would definitely use them again in the future, I've already started to bugging my husband to hire him to remodel our kitchen.

CTHE NEW ENGLAND HOUSE DOCTOR
Handyman scheduled work within two weeks of intial contact, arrived promptly and completed the work on the same day - the project was a complete re-grout of a tub/shower ceramic tile surround. The tile goes all the way to the ceiling in the shower surruond, and this, no doubt, complicated the project. I was initially surprised at how inexpensive the service was, but realized that you get what you pay for. The work was sometimes sloppy, and areas were missed entirely. The tub/shower surround is now usable, but somewhat unsightly. Overall, disappointed.

I recently purchased a home which needed more than a little attention to bring it from 70's Ranch to Cottage Shabby Chic! I found NE Renovations on Angies List and called the owner, Richard Froais who promply responded to my request. From the first meeting to our almost finished project, I have been impressed with him and his entire crew. I had a limited budget and even less time to complete the project and I can't believe what they accomplished in just a few weeks! From the remodeled kitchen to the brand new amazing marble bath and master bedroom and wallk-in closet, it has been a fantastic experience. Special thanks to his amazing crew - Bill, Joe, Nick, Will, Jimmy and Pete! I am looking forward to working with Richard to design and build a new deck this spring! On time, on budget, done with a smile- I hate to see them go!

A2nd Generation Remodeling
It was a very good bid, but he came in really low, though, which made us a bit nervous. He was very professional and very polite. He had the information in, in a timely manner. No, I would not use him again in the future. We would probably go with the guy we chose finally because we had seen his work.

We put hardwoods in my master bedroom, and they look amazing. We also had to remove and reproduce walls (which also meant a lot of cleaning and painting) to make my new fabulous walk in closet with built-ins. Def. using Cameron again, I'm already creating a budget with my husband to redo our kitchen. Great quality/fair price/professional/personable.

DDan the Man Painting & Handyman Services
Dan is a nice man, but just about the worst painter ever. He is messy; there are drips of paint all over -- on our hardwood floor, on the painted walls surrounding the window frames, on the baseboard heating elements, you name it, there is paint on it, including an oriental rug which he clearly walked on with paint on his shoe. He also does a very poor job; he missed whole sections on the trim, scraped and sanded some of the paint, but left others, painted over chips of paint that were on the window sill, and clearly did not prime the trim after I explicitly asked him to when he came to start the job. We are trying to cover and seal lead paint and without a primer, nothing sticks and the paint just peels off. I am now having to scrape all the chipping paint off that was not scraped by Dan, prime all the trim and paint it over again -- basically doing 80% of the job I hired him to do. On the positive side, he is inexpensive. This is certainly a case of "you get what you pay for". We would have been happy to pay more if he had done a thorough and proper job. In the end, I just paid him and will look for someone else to handle my handyman/painting jobs.

FREMY'S PLUMBING & HEATING
Remy s did a terrible job of heating my rooms. I am still freezing in my master bedroom to this day. They initially sent out un-licensed plumbers who drilled through seams without drop cloths, making a mess of my home. They were unresponsive to my questions, did a terrible job of following up on issues I had and the price we later found out to be ridiculously high for the work completed. We will never use this company again.

The project was delayed from day one. The cabinets were supposed to take 3-4 weeks to come in and they took 6-8 weeks. We're not sure whether it was George's fault or Home Depot's, but even after the cabinets had arrived, the project crawled. George would show up one day to work and then we wouldn't see him for the next two weeks. He failed to communicate on everything, i.e. delays, schedules, etc. The bathroom was supposed to be finished by April 30th. By July 18th, with only about 25% of the work done, we replaced George with another contractor. In addition to the substantial delays and lack of communication, we also had issues with the work that was done, (i.e - the cabinets were installed prior to plumbing being taken care of (under sinks) which created issues). Lack of supervision of subcontractors created problems (i.e. - plasterer failed to leave cutouts for lights, etc).

AA2Z Renovations LLC
This was a very involved remodel in which a half bath and full bath were redesigned to make two full baths. This construction took bumping into an adjacent bedroom to enlarge the current main bath as well as taking a master bedroom closet as part of the new master bath. A washer dryer combination was also built into the adjacent bedroom closet. They were also able to maintain and remodel a greatly needed hall linen closet.Rich was very attentive to all of our needs. This type of construction and remodel in the middle of winter is extremely difficult for clients and workers alike. Rich personally addressed every phone call and text and then followed up to insure that we were always satisfied.A2Zs foreman, Bern was extremely professional and meticulous with every detail. The work he did on the project construction as well as the beautiful tile and marble work is amazing. The young journeyman carpenter, Steve, was also an extremely hard worker. We were very pleased with the sub contractors Rich works with. The walls and ceilings were finished as if they had always been there. The plumber was also very professional and meticulous in every detail. There was no unexpected down time between phases of construction. We were always kept abreast of what would be happening each day. When a subcontractor was scheduled, they were there . The only hiccup was with the electrical subcontractor. His work was fine however the electrician did not contact the electrical inspector when he was finished. We contacted the city for a final inspection and several small areas needed to be corrected. We are extremely happy with our wonderful new baths as well as our new laundry area. We look forward to working with Rich on our next adventure....the kitchen.
