Recent Review: We have hired Pete on two occasions over the course of this and last summer to look at repairs for our very neglected decks. Pete was very responsive and came quickly to look at the decks and gave an estimate within 48hours. The pricing was very reasonable, and Pete was very honest and answered all of my questions, and explained how he arrived at his pricing and his assessment of the work that needed to be done. He noticed our crumbling retaining wall and put together a plan to salvage existing wood from the wall and use as minimal new materials as possible to save cost but also have a quality end result. All work was completed quickly as weather allowed (even sometime working in the rain) and Pete and his crew were always professional and worked quickly and cleaned everything better than when he started the projects. Pete also noticed that once he applied the stain to our mahogany deck, it didn't lay the way that he wanted, and HE brought this up to us. He also talked to the manufacturer of the stain and was able to get the product and redo the deck with no cost to us. He redid the deck and it looks beautiful, as well as fixed some boards that were loosening in both decks, at no additional change. Hire Pete, his work is beautiful, his prices reasonable, and he is a person of integrity! We will definitely work with him in the future.

Recent Review: We asked many, many questions before and during the project and always got polite responses and all the pros & cons to multiple approaches.  Worked hard with Sam on matching our budget needs all through the project without any hassels.  We knew what we were getting into at each step. Ultimately, each decision was ours, but we always had the guidance of someone whose qualifications and certifications are as long as my arm.  In fact, our original idea of what to do with the bathroom was quite different.  Brusco presented a few designs and we chose the one that made the most sense for us.We knew exactly what we were going to get before they swung the first hammer.  Sam Brusco went shopping with my wife to pick out all the fixtures, the tile, the cabinetry, even the glass doors.  They listened to all our concerns and desires and worked it into the plan along with their great ideas.  We met with Sam Brusco each week to discuss the overall progress of the project -- what happened last week, what was happening this week, and what was going to happen next week.  He did this each Saturday for the duration of the project, because my work schedule is sporadic and sometimes I do not arrive home before 7 PM.  On the other hand, my wife was home each day and she has nothing but good things to say about all of Brusco's workers.  Sam was a very active general contractors.  He was on-site almost every single day, doing much of the carpentry work himself. Although we now have modern conveniences; our new master bath complements our historic home.  Basement went from a creepy, segmented cellar where my wife would not set foot to a wide-open basement where my wife now has her exercise area. All of this was done with permits, a structural engineer, and what seemed like a dozen inspections from the city.  That's what Brusco does... everything the right way.  We highly recommend his work. Neither one of us had taken on a remodeling project before;  we were looking for advice and we couldn't get any from any previous guy that had worked on our house.

Recent Review: This contractor is a thief. He is completely unprofessional and stole my money from the job and walked off the job without completing the contracted work. He left my home with even more damage after he walked off the job. I had paid him for more than 75% of the job as I trusted him and had known him from other people and work that he had done and he still refused to complete the work as contracted to do so. He was completely negligent and caused a great deal of damage to my property on top of the contracted work that still needed to be completed when he took off. Do not use this contractor as there were serious problems with this contractor and all he wanted was more and more money without doing the work. And as if taking off after destroying my property wasn't enough, I went to the contracting board for help in RI. They in turn started to hear the case and then allowed John Fisher more time to go out and get a lawyer. And after their continuation, they then told me that he could hire a lawyer and in turn sue me for the remainder of the contract in order to keep working on other job with his license. And this is exactly what John Fisher turned around and did...he actually hired an attorney and held up my job for more than a year and a half in order to not give me my money back. And due to the state of RI contracting laws, he was able to try to sue me for the remainder of the contract and hold up any decision made by the contracting board so that they in turn had to dismiss the case while this was heard in actual district court. File still shows on the RI contracting board as resolved and this was never the case. John Fisher has never given me back my money that he stole from me for this project. And the contracting board will not reopen the case as insurance company is involved so they still have this listed as resolved when in fact it is not and they do not list this on the contracting board site as moved to district court. John Fisher took more than 45k of my money and has not paid back a cent and has also cost me more than another 25k in damages to my home. Stay away from him and his company. It is awful that a criminal like him can get away with this over and over again. And it still is continuing to happen to others.
