Recent Review: My wife and I have 40 X 18 foot concrete deck supported 9 feet off the ground. The glue lam beams were failing and the deck was sagging from all the weight. Alan and his crew carefully removed all of the concrete, replaced all the faulty beams with new, and resurfaced the deck with his special polymer coating and crafted the surface to look like Italian tile. Perfect result. Would recommend them highly!!!!!!!

Recent Review: Pacific Coat Painting was incredibly responsive throughout the process. Kevin came out to perform the bid on painting a fairly large multi level single family home. He was very flexible with respect to when to schedule the bid and came out during the weekend. I solicited 3 bids for the project, which would include refinishing and/or restoring a rear deck. Pacific Coat's bid was the middle bid and right in line with what I would expect for a legitimate high quality painting contractor. The actual process of scheduling was fine; the extremely hot weather had to push back the schedule a bit but they communicated well during the time to come up with a window of time that worked for everyone. They had the same foreman for the job throughout the process and he was my main contact during the 2 weeks they were here. The job they did was very high quality and the communication and professionalism thru out was top notch. Overall I am very happy with the job and the outcome was worth the money.
Recent Review: Five Star Painting did an awesome job, on-time at a great cost. When we need anymore painting completed in the facility or outside on our building I will call them! Great customer service and easy to work with.
Recent Review: Everything went smoothly. Chad was timely, professional and accommodating. This is the second time we've had him seal the decks. Two years ago he took on our slightly neglected decks: sanding, cleaning and refinishing. This was just standard 2-year maintenance, and it was easy.
Recent Review: Tony was very helpful, provided great suggestions and a plan to complete a project that was left unfinished by another contractor. He was very responsive and worked to complete the job as soon as possible. The quality of the work was excellent and it came out great. I would highly recommend.
Recent Review: Richard is dedicated to customer service. He stopped by daily to check in on the crew and discuss things with us. If anything went wrong he immediately jumped on and attacked the problem aggressively to our satisfaction. The price for paint stripping a house is high, so you want to get what you paid for and be treated as an important customer. They did great on both. We have tons of people stopping and talking to us about how we got the house stripped so well. Many have even suggested clear coating it instead of painting it because it looks so good. Would definitely recommend for those who have the budget and a horrible looking house from all the previous sanding, power washing, and many layers of paint etc.
They did a very good job on everything. I'm especially impressed with how well the deck has stayed looking nice in the 4 years since it was done as long as I put a clear coat over it every year.

Arrived on time, polite & professional, pressure washed deck and sealed it. Deck looked brand new when he finished

Sanded front deck, then sealed and buffed both decks using his 'special' formula. He did return several times to work on the back deck as it was not sealing properly. Looked OK until the rain started, then both decks turned black. I washed with Dawn as he instructed but it didn't have any impact. We called this June to ask what could be done to clean the decks - he offered to come back for $800.00. When we declined, he said that since we live in the woods this was not a surprise. Wish he would have told us that before we spent $1700 to have him treat our decks. It took us a couple of weeks, but we have finally removed the finish with several coats of '30 second cleaner' and have resealed with a conventional deck sealer.

AAvos Inc - Wrought Iron Engineering IronWork
We had several sections of wrought iron railing on a two-tiered deck that needed re-furbishing. One section of upper deck railing was a single corner piece with each section 8 feet long. This was too big to remove easily. We had Avos separate this piece into two sections and weld some additional fastener brackets. They also did some minor re-fabrication of the railing on the deck stairs to fit this after the deck had been re-built. Avos did the initial fabrication on-site and then removed all the railing for final fabrication and powder coating. They re-installed the upper deck railing, ensuring a water-tight seal with the waterproof deck surface. We were very happy with their work. The quality was very good and Surge Sova and his crew were all great to deal with. Highly recommended.

We had not sealed our deck for several years; it was grey and slimy. My husband power-washed but it took a long time and we weren't sure how much more work it would be to seal it. I called two deck re-finishers for quotes finishing the job. One wanted to use chemical brighteners before sealing. Bill Cumby said his company used light sanding instead of the chemicals. I chose his method because the deck was splintery, and we have a creek below so I wanted to be easy on the environment. The two quotes were very similar in price. Bill also agreed to fix some dry rot in the deck railing. He and his two assts worked all day. They countersank the nails, replaced some bad deck boards, sanded, and when Bill found carpenter ants and more extensive damage in the railing, he didn't refer me to someone else but said he could fix it, which he did over the next two weekends including priming and painting the rail. We were very pleased.

BLo's Contracting, Inc.
The pressure washing crew was excellent. They were very thorough. The painting, staining, and sealing all went OK, but I was very surprised (I had NOT asked) that they sprayed the deck and carport areas. I am talking the "floor" of the deck (basically a big flat floor with gaps in the boards) and the concrete slab, which is flat. My feeling is that one loses a lot of stain/sealer into the air (there were breezes). I did not feel that the coverage was acceptable. They agreed to put another coat on the deck and this time to apply it with a roller. Also they applied additional coats of sealer to the concrete. Besides asking how the paint is applied, be sure to ask: what do you consider "a coat" of paint? They did not look at "number of coats" as how many times paint is applied (say on successive days), but rather how many sq. ft. each gallon of paint covered. So putting it on heavy in their eyes was 2 coats. And if it said 100-300 sq. ft. per gallon, they used the 300 number.

ASchopp's Home Maintenance
The original estimate was the final price. The deck was about 10 years old and had had very little maintenance. We thought it might need to be replaced. Paul looked at and said he could make it look good. His crew arrived when they said they would and sanded the entire deck and all of the railings in one day. They also did some minor repairs to some of the railings. The next day they applied one coat of finish. They let that set for a day and then finished up with a final coat. The finish was brushed and rolled on. They did a good job of cleaning up as they went. The deck looks great.

APortland Deck Refinishing
Chad came out about two weeks after I contacted him (as he said he would). He was on time and pressure washed the deck. A couple of days later he came out and sanded and stained the deck; again he was on time. A day later when I looked at the deck it was blotchy and there were places where the stain hadn't taken. I called Chad and he agreed to come out to fix it. We had some discussions about whether the deck was sanded properly. The next rain free day he came out and put another coat of stain on the deck. He followed through on his promise of a good job. The deck now looks great. Anybody can do a good job if it's easy. It takes a pro to get stuff done when there are problems.
