Recent Review: Charles and Tom showed up to the house right on time and walked me through the process. They spent then next 4 hours going through a variety of tests and areas of the house. The inspection was very thorough. Later that evening the report was emailed to me just as they said it would be. This was the most detailed home inspection I have had. It was really nice to have all the tests and sewer camera done at the same time. And getting the thermal imaging included for no additional charge was great as well. All in all I think it was well worth the price and I felt confident in their abilities. I would use them again.
Recent Review: Installed a Radon Mitigation System. Tested Radon levels, and changed fans to eliminate noise. Meg was knowledgeable and friendly. She explained the system to me, and made sure that I was happy with the results. Very professional. I recommend them.
Recent Review: Great - they were fast, responsive. Bit pricier than others, but were able to do the work without permits because of their techniques. House has tested low for radon, so their system is working!
Recent Review: We purchased a home and the seller's hired Environmental works to put in a radon mitigation system as part of the closing. I was dissatisfied with the post mitigation results of 2.0 radon levels, as I had children playing and sleeping in the basement. Sol Migliaccio at Environmental Works assured me that 2.0 pCi/L was still below the EPA accepted level of 2.7 pCi/L. Nevertheless, Sol came to my home 4 months later to ensure the radon system was properly working and also told me how to order a long term radon test at a low cost from Air Check, Inc. for peace of mind. I ran the test for 5 months through winter season and the results still came back at 2.0 pCi/L levels. Sol agreed to install a larger fan on the existing system, free of charge, to ensure my satisfaction. A subsequent short-term test, following installation of the larger radon system fan, indicated trace radon levels of <0.3 pCi/L (equivalent to outdoor air radon levels). What a relief!! I am extremely satisfied with the customer service and attention to detail by Sol. He went above and beyond my expectations. I would highly recommend Environmental Works to anyone needing radon mitigation! They have a fantastic warranty as well.
Steve was informative, punctual and the system got our radon levels from 40 to 0.4 pc/l just as promised. I highly recommend Cascade Radon.

Cascade Radon was great to work with during the whole process. The estimate was punctual and right on. We set a date with the office to install and the installer was on time and did a great job. Our radon levels dropped to almost minimal and we live radon ridge in NE Portland.

We bought our house at the end of fall and had the radon levels tested during the inspection period. This testing was done by a different (not Cascade Radon) company. The average reading was around 2.2 piC/l with maximum around 3.2 over a 2 day period. I tested the radon levels again about 1.5 months later during the winter with my own radon monitor and it reported that the levels has gone up to around 4.0 (average). Since this was at the EPA action level and above the WHO's action level of 2.7, we decided to investigate active radon mitigation. A friend recommended we talk with Cascade Radon to get an estimate for the work. They promptly sent someone out to our house (this was during the Xmas break) and he recommended sub-slab depressurization as the most effective means of reducing our radon levels. The system was installed one week later and the radon levels immediately dropped down to a sustained average of around 1.0 piC/l with minimums as low as 0.4. I'm very happy with the quality and professionalism of the work Cascade Radon did for us and I would happily recommend them to others.

Cascade Radon recently installed a radon mitigation system for us at an older home that we purchased. Jim explained to me the benefits of installing a radon mitigation system to reduce the radon levels in our home to comply with EPA safety standards. The radon level in our home was too high--causing a health hazard for our family. Jim proposed placing the radon mitigation system on the side of our home in such a way that the system isn?t visible from the street. So the radon mitigation system isn?t noticeable to the casual observer. Eric and a co-worker installed the mitigation system that includes vent pipes and an exhaust fan to vent the radon gas from our home. They were very professional, efficient, and completed the work in a timely manner. The work is excellent. The mitigation was successful. The radon level is now safe for us, and the exhaust fan is very quiet. The cost of the work included all permits, fees, disposal, and air monitoring required by state and federal agencies.

I picked Cascade Radon over the other possibilities because they had good references. So far I have been satisfied with Cascade Radon's work. Up until this point the workers from Cascade Radon do show up when they are supposed to. I would use Cascade Radon again.

I originally scheduled a technician to come out and set up a radon test, then realized by reading Angie's List reviews, that the $10 do-it-yourself kit would work just fine. Even though I canceled my appointment to go with a MUCH cheaper option, the staff at Cascade Radon continued to treat me very well and gave me great instructions on how to use the kit. If the radon test reveals a need for mitigation, I will definitely call them!

Great. I'm selling my home. The buyer had radon test conducted. Radon was detected above the minimum standard and a radon mitigation system had to be installed prior to sale closing. My Realtor contacted EcoTech on my behalf. They arrived the next day to do the assessment. I had a bid within 3 business days. They did the work the following week. The installer was on time, very professional, and cleaned up after the work was completed.

Great! The team was very responsive with a (competitive) quote, and had strong communication throughout the installation and post-installation checkup. Their approach was data-driven and thoughtful; pre-install a received a thorough explanation of radon mitigation techniques, and post installation they did a 10 day test to monitor radon levels in the house, concluding with sending me a detailed data set and graph of radon levels during the test.

They were exact about the cost. They were responsive. The person that came out to give the estimate was very articulate about the need for remediation. He was very clear in his description of what would be done and why. Radon is very expensive.
