AIN YOUR HOME
Our agency needed to remodel a shelter kitchen area, and picked IYH from a pool of many RFQ bidders as the most qualified and capable. The contract negotiations were straight-forward, direct, efficient, and very friendly – clearly, this team knows how to work well together. The pre-construction team focused on the agency’s needs and truly “crawled inside” the details in the RFQ. They efficiently kept within a reasonable timeframe as to start of construction and projected end dates, effectively dealing with our occasional concerns and one “act of God” event. Most importantly, the on-site team (project manager, site manager, technical staff) all were well-versed in the needs of a shelter, and IYH took very many steps to make sure the agency’s shelter residents were both informed and kept safe, even making construction crew pictures and names available prior to construction. During the construction phase , IYH exceptionally managed demolition, debris management/removal, renovation (framing, plumbing, electrical (both low and high voltage), windows, exterior siding, materials deliveries, sheetrock, painting, cabinetry, countertops, tile backsplash, flooring, lighting), and post-renovation cleanup – including in-situ deep cleaning. Also, IYH was responsive to the predictable mid-construction changes, including a contract expansion for flooring throughout the structure, replacement of the several bath/restroom features, and so on. The high quality of the team members and the work they have produced is evident in both now-hidden and still-visible ways throughout the shelter. Post-construction, our agency will continue to leverage the multi-faceted IYH maintenance and “handyman” services for both this structure and other needs – and we strongly encourage other agencies and homeowners to check out the thorough, professional, and personal work this team easily delivers.

AWOZNIAK CONSTRUCTION
Sam was very responsive to our needs and was always available by phone. He helped design the shelter which blends in nicely with the deck and house. As soon as the specially ordered door and window came in he started the job, working with one other man. He is a skilled carpenter and cares about doing the work right the first time. He takes pride in his work and for good reason. He always left the work area clean and worked safely and quietly and paid attention to the small details.

We love working with John.  He's extremely knowledgeable about home construction and repair, His attitude is always great and we trust him with any task we may have. I recommend him 100% for any handyman needs anyone may have.  My only regret is we didn't find him sooner when we had some larger construction projects on our home.  I'm sure he would have done a great job with those as well.

AExterior Barrier, LLC
Very smoothly. A schedule was set, which the company kept to. The work was done promptly, and the site was cleaned each day. The tenants in the apartments were very happy with how the work went. A porch was added to the front of the building to shelter the entry doors. I was very happy with the attention to details. The work was completed almost 3 years ago, and there have been no problems and no need to call to fix things after the job was completed.

ACOMUNITY HOUSE ON BROADWAY
This is a shelter for homeless men and women. They do not have a car so the two times I have used them for handyman/cleaning up-type work, I picked them up. The minimum acceptable rate is $8.00/hour per person but it was hard work, they worked hard, and I paid $10. I met five different workers and all were clean and respectful. They brought their own lunch.

ACultivated Shelter Inc.
The guys at Cultivated Shelter built our second story addition covering 1200 square feet. They assisted from design to build everything being done very professional at a great price and with lots of heart. The guys were able to get permits, tear down the old roof and built the entire 1200sqft in under 6 months. Very knowledge in all aspects of the process!

Edward installed the door in a timely manner and charged the same amount home depot was asking for an installation. The door works well.

It was a little strange. He gave us the quote over email without seeing the storm door, and possibly he was envisioning something other than what he found when he got here. (He didn't ask questions over email.) He sighed heavily a few times as he started, and it seemed like he really didn't want to do the job, muttering complaints under his breath. He determined he needed to rebuild a bit of the doorway, which was fine; he left to get the right supplies and he came back with a helper. Also fine, except the whole time it seemed like he was unhappy. That's why the professionalism seemed lacking. In the end, we now have a storm door, so it's an okay result. It's not perfectly set, but it's okay. He said to call if we had any questions but after all that sighing we don't want to call him about, well, anything. It ended up being more than the quote ($300 vs $430) due to the extra thing he had to do. All in all a B- experience. Not terrible. Maybe hire him for something other than a storm door.

Timely, quality work. Even when we had a problem that turned out to be unrelated, Albert was there to help (and on a weekend).

Ron responded quickly to my initial inquiry.  He provided us with an accurate estimate, recommended the perfect door, and installed it expertly.  We will definitely call him next time we need any kind of construction service.
