Recent Review: We had a wonderful experience with Deck Masters - Chris & Matt were brilliant to work with, efficient and did a cracking job on replacing the railing around our pool and upper level deck. They were responsive to questions that popped up along the way and offered great (and cost effective!) solutions. We couldn't be more pleased by the way it all turned out. Highly recommend!
Recent Review: Work started a few days later than estimated due to other jobs being finished. Once the work began things went swiftly. The demolition took one hard working guy one day to complete and the superstructure was mostly done the second day. The third day the decking was installed. There was a hiccup on the railing however, because of an unprofessional railing manufacturer who didn't want to supply contractors directly anymore. Anyway, the railing got installed a few days later and the entire deck looks wonderful! Scott and his helper Blair did all the work themselves. Scott is very good at what he does and Blair is a very hard worker. My only reservation with this project was that Scott did not insist on a signed contract up front, just emails, which we found out in Angie's last magazine was a no-no. But he came highly recommended by Angie's List and there was no problem with his company on the contractors board. Everything worked out well in the end and we are very happy with our new deck.
Recent Review: We were looking to get a new stair railing made. Alec was exceedingly prompt to reply and to come over to get the specific measurements to make a quote. He was very professional, meticulous and very knowledgeable about his trade. However, we decided to go with someone else because his quote was somewhat higher, nonetheless we would like to work with him in the future.
Recent Review: I had multiple contractors give a look at our job. One was too far out to provide us our needed completion date. Another failed to ever work us up an estimate. Jon from Best Decks on the other hand showed up on time and provided an estimate later the same night. On top of that he discovered some serious safety flaws and deterioration on the existing deck and how and why we needed to structurally rebuild the design so we weren't just putting lipstick on a pig. It was obvious he was experienced and knowledgable in all aspects of the design and construction of any kind of deck. To pat him on the back isn't a hard choice to make. He helped me redesign a more advantageous design for the stairs to the lower patio area that actually added size and functionality to the deck. He was able to incorporate that design to be aesthetically better for the overall landscape design we'd planned for hardscapes and retaining walls for better flow of foot traffic. Jon and his crew were very meticulous in every detail. From the safety aspect to the neatness of the refuse materials and their own construction equipment cleaned up and put away each day, you could tell they were professionals. The little things like the beveling of each end of each board to reduce splinters, designing the board pattern to be pleasing to the eye and the quality of all fasteners used, I was impressed and satisfied that I made a good choice in hiring them for this project. Even my landscape contractor made comments about what fine work they did here and asked for their card to offer references to his clients needing a deck built. That says a lot, when your peers are equally as impressed with the work you do. I cannot say enough good things.
Recent Review: The Above All crew arrived promptly and set to work constructing the rails and supports for the cable system. Within a few hours, the structure was completed with excellent attention to detail and function. The crew came back on day 2 to measure, cut and install the cables. The railing looks amazing.

Recent Review: This was a big job with maple floors in the kitchen, family room, entry, stairs and upstairs hallway. We are so happy with the new look and couldn't be more pleased with the quality of work from Alex, Oleksi and the team of guys who worked on our home. Their skills and professionalism were impressive and appreciated. Thank you Ovi, Kelly and all the guys!
Recent Review: The bid process went very smoothly with Shane walking us thru choices and sending a prompt bid via email. Installation was a full day of work for two men and they seemed rushed to finish at the end. During the day they used our garage (with our permission) but smoked and played music in there. At the end of the day, as we checked over the install, we encouraged them to add another support to the hand rail since they had to extend it further than planned to in order to anchor it in a stud. Pencil marks were left on our walls at every place where the rails were attached to the wall - we didn't notice that until after they left. Several weeks later we found that 1 hand rail and 2 toe kicks had not been anchored into the wall but temporarily attached with nails. We had Shane back to remedy that. He even came on the weekend to fix the mistake. If we had it to do again, my husband would do it himself. The cost and quality of their work are the primary reasons.
Reviews in Portland for Porch Railing Installation
AWil Morris Construction and Honey Bee Removal
Wil did a fantastic job building and installing railings for the front steps going up to our porch. Not only was the quality of the work great, but he was very helpful in the planning process. I was not sure exactly what I wanted the railings to look like, so Wil did some research on different railing designs and emailed me sample pictures. Once I had decided on a design picked out, he priced out the materials and labor, which came out lower than I had been anticipating. Wil was very responsive through the whole process and I would highly recommend him. He will definitely be the person I call next time I need any handyman or light construction work done.

ADIETZ HOME IMPROVEMENTS
We contacted 4 contractors to bid the job, Dietz was quick to come out to bid (within a day or two of initial phone call). After receiving all bids, we felt confident choosing Dietz because the price was reasonable and he seemed knowledgeable and professional. They were able to start work Tuesday of the following week and finished within 2 days. We are very happy with the quality of the work provided. Not only was the work good, it came in under bid! We would definitely use Dietz Home Improvements again.

A Neighbor had used them for a fence, contacted them for a fence and porch railing project. They had a late start - but I understand, it 's peak season. Their work was very good, they stayed on budget and did a fantastic job. Recommend them.

AOSWEGO HOME REPAIR
Met with Randy to review work requested to replace rotted boards on front porch railing. He offered another (better) solution, using one long continuous rail cap rather than replace three short pieces. I then decided to replace the remaining potion of he railing to improve the overall appearance. When the desired lumber was not available on the initial date for the work, Randy suggested postponement and I agreed. He then completed the project as scheduled and overall results are good. He also removed an unwanted railing along the walkway. Work was completed in one day and cleanup was excellent.

AAMERICAN HOME MAINTENANCE
I called Steve to give me a bid on a railing project for a real estate client who was selling her house. He arrived promptly for our appointment was easy to reach by phone. We decided hold off on doing any improvements to the house prior to the sale, and sell the home as-is. Days before we were set to close on the house, we got word back from the lender that a railing had to be installed on the back patio near a steep bluff. I was in a panic- could we get this completed and reinspected) in time to close our transaction? Steve came in like a superhero; he worked all day and night to get this completed in short order. I can't tell you how much it meant to everyone involved to have this taken care of so quickly and so well. Steve is going to be one of my first calls for any jobs in the future- thank you Steve !!

Eddie was great with communication, both prior to the appointment and during the work. Services and costs were explained, so there were no surprises. The job was done well, in a professional manner and did not end until I was satisfied with the results. I would recommend Eddie and PPW to others.
