We contacted Richard Krantz for an estimate to complet a modest amount of exterior trim painting (less than 2 gallons of paint required). He provided an estimate, however he charges on an hourly basis. As part of his involved dialogue while providing the estimate, he cited his experience as a commercial maintenance man and professed to be an exceptionally neat painter who does, "...not get paint where it doesn't belong." He also touted his standards for surface preparation and stated he doesn't "...paint over dirt." He was responsive to our tight scheduling needs and would readily return phone calls. When we were not at home, he provided lengthy updates via voice mail. This is where his professionalism ended, in our opinion. The work Richard delivered was below professional standards. Contrary to his promise to not get paint where it doesn't belong, he dripped paint on a newly finished concrete surface. Upon closer inspection of his work, it is obvious that he performed a minimum of surface preparation. For example, he painted over what were clearly blisters in the existing paint and made no attempt to fill obvious gaps from a recent repair. His handling of materials we provided also caused us to doubt his expertise. For example, he somehow managed to punch several small holes in the lid of a partially used can of paint, limiting the subsequent shelf life of an expensive can of specialty paint. He did not use a paint bucket, so the rim of a can of very expensive exterior paint was so caked with dried paint and the remaining 1/4 gallon of paint contained so much debris as to be worthless. He actually cost us additional money by failing to follow instructions on the order in which we wanted to work to be completed. This lapse resulted in us replacing damaged trim which we had just paid him to paint. This unnecessary expense could have been avoided if he had completed the work in the specified order. The final straw occurred when, after being confronted with feedback on the damage to the concrete, he seemed to lose interest in completing the remainder of the job. We sent him home and completed several hours of painting ourselves. In summary his sales pitch appears to exceed his talent and commitment to customer satisfaction. We paid a premium price for an amateurish paint job. We would not recommend him for any work under any circumstances.

Chris was visit on time for our initial estimate visit and was able to have work completed one week after initial visit. Workers arrived on time, covered plants and other areas and did an excellent job of painting our trim.

AB R Handyman
Bill was pleasant, professional and great to work with. He did exactly what I asked for a fair price. He and his helper arrived right on time and go the job done exactly as he quoted it. He was courteous and respectful of my wife and kids schedule. I was impressed by his desire to leave the job site with me being 100% satisfied. He went above and beyond to make sure every little detail was perfect. Highly recommended.

ASWEET SUCCESS CONTRACTORS
Chris and his team worked on our large front room as well as 2 bathrooms. He removed an old, cracked mirror from the bathroom and made our house look brand new. Highly recommended. This is the second time we have used him (first time was for painting exterior trim). We will use him again to remodel our kitchen. Very trustworthy, timely, professional, courteous, did a great job!

ARich Bakey's Landscaping Co. DBA R&B Multitrade
The job was complicated as my entry foyer had a large elevated window and adjoining halls with steps and an 18 foot ceiling. Lots of trim work was involved. Two coat coverage was required and the job was done in two days. It turned out great. The personnel were polite and hard working and capable painters. It was easy to price the second day's work with the company owner. I will use them probably later this year or next spring for exterior trim work.

AChris Jackson's Contracting
THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME I HAD USED CHRIS FOR MAJOR WORK. (A YEAR AGO HE INSTALLED A STORM DOOR AND PAINTED SOME EXTERIOR TRIM.) CHRIS IS A PERFECTIONIST AND A SUPERB PROBLEM SOLVER. MY HOUSE IS ABOUT 90 YEARS OLD AND SOMETIMES SOLUTIONS REQUIRE CREATIVITY. CHRIS DOES EXCELLENT WORK, GOES BEYOND WHAT IS NECESSARY, AND IS A SUPERB BUSINESSMAN. HE IS ALWAYS ON TIME, ALWAYS ON BUDGET, ALWAYS COMMUNICATES ABOUT ANYTHING UNUSUAL. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN PLEASED IN EVERY WAY; HE GETS MY HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.

It didn't. I had an initial contact call, called back to schedule, was told there were issues with the computer system, never heard from them again. I sent an email fairly recently and still no contact. I wish I had requested a cash refund.

ARich Scott Services
There were some unexpected extra costs due to poor condition of existing wood in some places (uncovered as aluminum siding was removed). Overall we were very pleased with the work that was done. We felt that we paid a reasonable price and quality of work and attention to detail was excellent.

AEast End Remodeling
Martin arrived on time and was ready to get to work. We went over the list of repairs and he started right in. I had purchased two hours of handyman services from Angie's list, but I had more than two hours of work that needed to be done. Martin completed everything I asked him to do (even running out to the hardware store to purchase supplies) and agreed to stay extra time to finish my to do list. I paid for the extra time and out-of-pocket costs ($141). Martin is a very personable guy. He was very agreeable to do whatever I asked. I would definitely use him again for general repairs. My only concern was the "prettiness" of the finishing work. I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to the finished look. I think I would have been able to do the caulking job myself and maybe done the job a little neater. Truthfully, I'm not sure anyone else would notice the minor imperfections. Martin got a lot of little jobs done in a very short time (it would have taken me MUCH longer). Next time I have small repair work around the house, I will be calling Martin.
