Reviews in Pittsburgh to Install Weather Stripping
AG A C Construction Inc
My wife found Glen, the company president, when she needed an emergency repair when some plaster needed to be replaced in the middle of a room painting. Glen came and did a great job. Since then he installed a new tile floor in our bathroom and a new sink, and ensured the job was done right. Since then he's also applied new weather stripping on our front doors and patched cracks in the walls in a couple rooms in our house. We have been so happy with his services with the interior of the house with handyman type stuff, we plan to use him for his company's carpentry and masonry specialties this summer with our exterior renovation plans. Working with Glen is like working with a friend. I never feel like he is trying to take advantage of the situation. He does good work to ensure he can continue to work more more with you in the future and benefit from recommendations. In addition, he won't accept work outside his specialties (although I'm confident he'd do a quality job in anything, it's good to know he won't take something just for the job). He gives honest assessments and is always a pleasure to work with.

It went great. Chris is very responsive. Every time I called him he answered his cell phone. He was on time and did everything like we discussed. While he was at our home he found a few other items (door knob and door hinge) that needed fixed. He repaired those at no charge. Chris was nice to work with and did a great job!

My slider weatherstripping was ripped and I'd been looking for years to get it replaced. Ryan determined the door could not be removed, but came up with an alternative solution to block air entry. I had removed some deck railing from one area and wanted it attached in another area. It did not easily fit/attach, and he came up with a sturdy method of attaching. He put in a new door handle on an old jalousie door. I was satisfied with the unique solutions he had to two problems that I had been trying to resolve for years. I was pleased that I was not nickel and dimed for small supplies

They responded quickly and estimated the job professionally, pointing out details I had not accounted for but that were important to the overall finished quality. The workmanship was excellent, the cleanup was great, and when one type of weather stripping didn't work, they came back twice to fix it. Couldn't be better.

I didn't quite realize how temporary their fixes would be but they did what they promised. They were very helpful in adjusting a lock so that the door would close after adding the weather stripping.

This was my first time using him and he did very well with the things that he knew how to do. There were some things that he agreed to do that he clearly did not know how to do but he did them anyway and he didn?t do well. We?re not going to use him again so I probably wouldn?t recommend him.

BERNIE WAS ON TIME. HE CAREFULLY OPENED THE WINDOW THAT WAS PAINTED SHUT WITHOUT BREAKING THE GLASS. AFTER BERNIE REPLACED THE DOOR HANDLE, HE VOLUNTEERED TO ADJUST THE WEATHER STRIPPING ON THE DOOR. HE USED A SECOND SCREW THAT THE PREVIOUS INSTALLER FAILED TO USE. BERNIE WAS POLITE, BUT JUST A TAD TESTY ABOUT BEING WATCHED WHILE HE WORKED. THE WORK WAS DONE WELL. BERNIE IDENTIFIED TWO UNERLYING PROBLEMS WITH OUR BROKEN DOOR HANDLE AND CORRECTED THEM. BERNIE DID NOT CHARGE EXTRA FOR THE DOOR HANDLE HARDWARE. I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO USE BERNIE AGAIN AS A HANDYMAN.

Jason came from Mr. Handyman of South Pittsburgh and completed the job very quickly. I had provided the new doorknob to be used and luckily it all worked out fine. Very professional and helpful. He also helped me with another door that was sticking at the bottom of the door frame. He was able to remove the weather stripping at the bottom without removing the door and now that problem is fixed, too. He had all the tools he needed with him and there was no "down time." All repairs were completed in about 15 minutes!

Dave is very prompt and professional. He was quick to respond to my e-mails and on time to give me an estimate and perform the work. Even removed some overhanging limbs while on the roof : ) Will definitely use again for anything that needs done.

Recent Review: We recently purchased a large 99 year old house that hadn't been electrically updated in a long long while. We knew going in that it was going to need a full rewire to get things up to code and Pricelight delivered. Pros: 1. They patch their own holes and will even texture it to approximately match your walls. No one else offered this and it was a huge time saver for me when it came to spot painting. 2. Great price, since they are a smaller shop they were able to offer a very competitive price. 3. Very friendly and professional. I never heard them curse or even talk about sensitive/ inappropriate subjects. As a father to very young children this was a nice touch. I know that some of the work they did was very frustrating and if you were not standing there looking at them you would not have known that that they were upset. This is an unusually rare quality that I’m not sure that even I can match. 4. The were able to adjust on the fly and add/remove things to the contract. 5. Moved things around to accommodate my tastes and preferences Cons: 1. As a smaller shop they simply could not get the job done as quickly as other companies and written proposals and start dates were also a bit slower. However, their price more than made up for it. 2. Rushed a bit at the end and forgot a few finishing touches such as cover plates, securing an outlet and removing string for running lines. They came back and fixed everything during inspection but they still managed to miss the one switch for texturing and the cover plate. I just fixed it myself and it took a whole 3 minutes. This was too minor an issue bring up with them especially since they patched everything else (this switch was in an odd spot and easy to miss). It would have taken me over a week to patch another company’s holes so I counted my blessing and moved on. 3. Ended up with some mismatched hardware (outlets and switches). Since I had a whole house rewire I expected to end up with all new switches and outlets but I still have a small grab bag of old stuff: 2 non-décor switches on my main stairs, 1 two prong outlet in my basement and one non-bubble outdoor outlet. Technically this is just odd not necessarily wrong since the contract states that they will replace hardware attached to the old nob and tube wiring. The items in question were newer than the rest of the hardware they replaced and were connected to newer wiring but not even remotely new enough to match everything else they put in. It’s just a little irksome since I mentioned multiple times that I wanted everything to match for cosmetic reasons. Luckily, I have both the skills and hardware necessary to remedy this on my own but this might have been more of an issue for someone else. Once again, it’s just a little annoying but not enough for me to complain to them since I can fix all of it in about an hour. Conclusion: As someone who knows a bit about electrical work I can say that everything that they did was necessary (or requested by me) and was well done. All of my complaints are very minor and they more than likely would have been addressed them if I had bothered to complain. I would absolutely plan to hire them again. In fact, I expect to have new estimate in my inbox any day now.

Recent Review: I bought a pre-paid 3 hour Handyman Service deal from Angie's List from Spotless Solutions. Although I experienced some initial scheduling hiccups, when their handyman came, he did a wonderful job. I had a bunch of small things but the big project was re-placing my light fixture. The job was well done with a lot of attention to detail. They were clean, courteous and had helpful suggestions. I had 40 minutes left on the clock and instead of wrapping up, they asked if I could think of other things to do so that I get the full value of what I paid for. I appreciated that. Finally the next day, the owners called to check how everything went. That was unexpected and I appreciated the courtesy.

Recent Review: Surperb. He found another rotten piece of wood on the railing that we were unaware of and replaced it without increasing the price of labor. He also replace a piece of weather stripping on the door that he noticed should be replaced.
Recent Review: In February, we contacted Ace Handyman Services South Pittsburgh (formerly Handyman Matters South Pittsburgh) to install crown molding in our master bedroom. Normally, my husband likes to complete our home repair projects himself, but he had never installed crown molding before. We did some research and found Ace Handyman Services South Pittsburgh, and we're so happy we did! Rich was our handyman, he arrived on time and did a beautiful job installing the crown molding! We have cathedral ceilings in our bedroom, which made this a more difficult task. Rich was very knowledgeable on how to tackle this project, and it turned out even better than we were expecting! The whole process, from booking the job to completing the work, exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend using Ace Handyman Services South Pittsburgh!
