Reviews in Pittsburgh to Install Kitchen Island

AYoungstown Granite
Great experience. The service and quality of the granite was exellent. They also made suggestions for the island countertop design that we used and loved.

It was wonderful working with Top It Off. We wanted the work done quickly; other kitchen/bath companies couldn't even talk to us for a couple of weeks. Their location is a little out of the way, but well worth the trip. We were treated so nicely. They did quotes for us immediately. They escorted us out back where they have these beautiful pieces of granite to chose from. They knew that additional bracing would be required on the island and we brought in a cabinet drawer so they could match the wood - it does, perfectly. Their installers were prompt and polite and they even fixed the sink installation we tried doing ourselves. We will definitely being going back to them when we are ready to replace the rest of the counter tops in the kitchen. They are also cabinetmakers and the items they had in their showroom were gorgeous!

FChoice Granite & Marble
I called Choice three times on three consecutive days for a bid on my marble island countertop. Each time I called I was told that they would call me right back with an estimate, and each time they never called back. This place is very unprofessional.

Mr. Faust did an excellent job on our kitchen remodel, was punctual, professional and the job site was kept very clean. Mr. Faust did an excellent job matching our downstairs baseboard and the kitchen remodel was beautiful. We would hire Faust Enterprise again and highly recommend his services.

ADesirable Kitchens & Refacing
The kitchen remodeling process went perfectly. Jim and Eric were incredibly responsive with all of our concerns. They finished the job weeks earlier than anticipated. The entire kitchen remodeling process only took about 3.5 days. Overall, we were very pleased with the quality of the work, value of product & services, and professionalism.

ATri County Kitchens
Great! The installers were excellent, on time every day, very professional, pleasant and meticulous. The workmanship was A+. Because of the Covid pandemic, not many people have seen the new look but those who have make remarks about how nice the cabinets are. We are very pleased with the way the kitchen turned out and would certainly recommend Tri-County kitchens.

The remodel is beautiful, Jim offered a good number of well received suggestions for the design, and his work with building and installing the cabinetry is terrific. He also makes getting demo work and countertops much easier by acting as a one-stop shop for all these services, through contractors he routinely works with. Great job!

AAll Star Custom Kitchens
We had been discussing and saving up for a major kitchen remodel for a while. I found All-Star Custom Kitchens' information on Angie's List and we met Tom Gogal, the owner, and saw some examples of his work at the Pittsburgh Home Show. Tom came to our home personally to take measurements and talk to us about what we wanted to do. The plans that Tom came up with were exactly what we were looking for. Tom and his crew did an excellent job from beginning to end. We had a rather extensive kitchen remodel which included removing a wall between the kitchen and dining room, removing and replacing the ceiling in the family room, kitchen, and dining room, running new wiring for a light fixture in the living room, and basically gutting our old kitchen and installing new custom Amish made cabinets and granite counter tops. In addition, they installed a new vanity, sink, and hardware in our half-bathroom, and painted it. Tom was on-site personally almost every day. The crew was on schedule or ahead of schedule the entire time. They left the area as clean as possible every day. Tom did an excellent job of communicating with us every day to keep us updated about what they were doing and how the job was progressing. The new kitchen is stunning. Everyone who has seen it in person or seen pictures of it are absolutely blown away by how beautiful it looks. Based on the pictures that we saw on Tom's website, our expectations for this job were very high, and all I can say is that Tom exceeded those expectations in every way.

Recent Review: This was a top-notch experience with Klipa Contracting through and through, from the first phone call to the final wrap-up, exceeding our highest expectations. Our kitchen was much in need of renovation and remodeling, with our original ideas for the remodel including potentially removing one or two walls.  We knew it would not be a super simple/straight-forward project, and wanted to find a contractor who had expertise in house construction, but would also have experience and know-how when it came to kitchen remodeling and design. From the first phone contact with Justin, the experience was unique and matched us well.  He shared quite a bit about what they do and don't do and asked us many questions over the phone to see whether proceeding would be of mutual interest. Of all the contractors we talked to, Justin and his approach fit the best with what we were looking for. He was a younger guy (vs. others we had talked to), but confident and experienced in the internals of house construction, and with a sense of design and how things should look or flow or fit together. Because our project was not super straight-forward, they actually came in to do some preliminary gutting to make sure the scope of work that we would be agreeing to.  We also had the additional challenge of being far into pregnancy and wanting/needing the project to be completed before the due date. The price quoted for the project we thought was very fair, esp. given the scope of work. Throughout the project, Justin kept in constant phone contact with us.  He is very detail-oriented, which we are as well, so we appreciated that we felt things all along the way were being taken care of well, and in the right way, without shortcuts or bypassing our involvement or input.  He also works well, not only with his own sub-contractors, but with other ones that we hired to do the flooring and HVAC re-routing.  He not only does the work well, but manages the process and people very, very well. He and his crew and his subs did an amazing job, from the big, difficult mini-projects to the smallest details, including: 1) Removing exterior brick wall to enclosed porch and replacing with beams in a header, extending the kitchen 2) Removing interior load-bearing wall to the dining room and replacing with beam in a header, opening up the kitchen 3) Re-working the enclosed porch walls, ceiling, and floor to make it a seamless part of the new kitchen 4) New plastered walls everywhere, including making a seamless patch job along the wall where a closet was torn out in the DR to K transition 5) New wiring and lighting (overhead, recessed, and along header) throughout 6) Baseboard throughout the entire area along the walls and cabinets to give a nice, continuous look 7) Installation of cooker hood vent to pipe through the exterior wall to the outside 8) Installation of HVAC ducting/vents underneath the toe kicks of the kitchen island cabinet to vent in two directions (DR and K) The cabinet company/distributor they work with has very good quality product.  The distributor wasn't the best in terms of communication, but product was really good, with a multitude of options and customizations. The counter top company they use has very nice laminate product, including the ability to have an "under-mount" sink, which is pretty unique.  We also had a kitchen island with a top that ended in a radial/semi-circle, and it came out nicely. They did a great job with containing the mess and cleaning up at the end of every day.  With one young child and a pregnant lady in the house, we appreciated that. Justin had asked us to separately arrange flooring and interior wall painting.  HVAC we also decided to arrange separately. We did hit a snag mid-way in the process with the need to get building permits and two types of city inspection.  Normal kitchen remodel does not require this, but our project did, and there was a short period where things were held up waiting for things to go through with the city and for an inspector to come out to our house. We are very happy not only with the final product but how things were handled throughout! And the project was completed right before the new baby was born, which was the goal all along   :)

Recent Review: Working with CliqStudios was a fantastic experience. We really enjoyed working with Miranda Montooth, who was extremely helpful in ideas, patience, and information about the CliqStudios product. The cabinets are made in America, which we liked a lot, and come in lots of different styles, which was hard for us to find for any cheaper. We've added some before and after photos for you to see how our project came out.
Recent Review: Extremely professional.  Greg always showed up on time and everything was clean and neat when he left.  It was a pleasure to have him and Jason in our home, and we trust them completely.  They do excellent work and we were very pleased with the results.
