Recent Review: I called John Haughey and and Sons plumbing to repair a leaking drain in the laundry room. I had attempted to repair this myself but was a little concerned about where the drain tied into the main sewer. I had first called another plumber, and they promised to get back to me in a day or 2 but never did. I then called John Haughey based on a recommendation from a family member. I explained by issue and concern to the man that answered the phone and he seemed very knowledgeable and assured me that they would be out the next day and would be able to resolve the issue. The next morning, John called me about 8am to ensure that I was home, and said he would be there in about 1/2 hour. He did show up at exactly 8:30 and I showed him the problem. He said he would be able to fix it and would add a vent pipe as well to get it up to code. I also asked John to look at a leaking shutoff for the dishwasher, which was nearby and although I hadn't scheduled that work he said he could fix that as well but would have to turn the water off briefly. John did complete all work in less than an hour and did a great job. He replaced all the pipes and ensured that the tie in at the main was sealed and that a proper vent was in place. He also replaced the old shutoff for the dishwasher with a new ball valve. Great Job! John and I discussed some other plumbing that I would like to do in the near future and i'll definitely be using John Haughey and Sons.

Recent Review: On this job they installed a new Bosch dishwasher, installed new single-hole kitchen faucet with pull out sprayer including new shutoff valves under the sink. They installed a new kitchen aid garbage disposal and connected the drain lines for the sink, disposal and dishwasher. They installed a new "T" and added a water line for the fridge. They replaced 2 old sets of failing bathroom risers valves with new ball valves. Finally, they installed a new external hose bib by drilling a new hole through the masonary on my house and connecting it to a branch off the cold water supply for my laundry tub. I have worked with Richard and his team about half a dozen times. They are very punctual and professional. They work quickly and efficiently. I have never had to call them back for any issues with their work. I find Richard and his team easy to work with. Like any good contractor, they are generally very busy so you need to schedule them in advance of when you'd like the service.

The installer arrived on time, seemed experienced and knowledgeable, and did a great job. Also friendly. I would use this company again.

Installers were great, office is terrible.  Installers arrived on originally scheduled install date (May 10th) within the stated window.  They were not able to install the dishwasher due to the kitchen tiles being to high to remove old dishwasher.  They instructed me to take out the tiles and call to reschedule the install--which I did.  They scheduled the 2nd install appointment for May 16th between 1 - 5pm.  I arranged for someone to be at my house to let them in.  By 3:30, we still hadn't heard anything--so I called.  The man who answered the phone with a simple "HELLO" (no company name, etc) informed me that the person that scheduled the appointment was "new" and did it wrong, so no one would be coming out.  So not only was I inconvenienced by going more time without a working dishwasher, not to mention a brand new one sitting in my living room, but the people that I asked to help me out by coming over to let them in wasted an entire afternoon for nothing.  I then rescheduled the install for Saturday May 19th and was given a window of 9:30 - noon.  So I got up early to wait.  And wait, I did.  By 11:30am, still no word.  So I called.  A woman answered and VERY RUDELY told me that it was still "in the window" and they'd be there.  Gee, since you flat out STOOD ME UP THREE DAYS AGO, not to mention I am THE CUSTOMER, I figure I have every right to call.  Installers eventually showed up around 1pm.  All in all, a terrible experience.  It's a shame, the installers were very nice, polite, and efficient, but the office people were absolutely awful.  Would never use them again, just based on them.

Rich is a really great guy.  I appreciate his very direct and honest approach.  He clearly wants to do the job right without cutting corners.  From the start of this project, Rich sent Greg, who seems to be one of his best if not his best plumber. Greg is very friendly, highly professional, and is very detailed oriented.  Greg and Rich did the following:  -Moved the gas line for new oven -replaced the old, blocked drain from the kitchen sink -repaired vent/stack that was not installed properly -repaired where the drain from the upstairs met the floor/french drain in the basement (which was previously damaged by the contractor who installed our french drains and failed to tell us that it was cracked) -moved water lines and drains in the laundry room to accommodate for a new washtub and washer configuration -moved the refrigerator water line -installed new faucets in kitchen and laundry -installed dishwasher -installed new garbage disposal We plan to renovate our masterbath later this year and will definitely hire Rich to do the plumbing.

An overall horrible experience. I thought I did my due diligence by talking to multiple contractors and looking at highly rated Angie's list providers but I really missed my mark. At first, Jason seemed like a friendly and honest contractor that he was the person I liked the best. He assured me that he was going to do the work himself and that everything would be done correctly. He had great reviews and a competitive bid so I picked him. My pick was a mistake. First, in spite of him saying that he would do all the work himself, Jason only worked on our house for 2 days out of the 10+ weeks. The best part is that Jason didn't even show up at the end to collect the last check and to see how the project turned out. Most of the work was performed by Terry. Terry is a nice guy but I hired Jason and not Terry. Terry initially did pretty good work, but by the end it was clear that he was overwhelmed and was being rushed as the quality of the work decreased over time. Terry had three helpers. All three were inexperienced and any work they performed was mediocre at best. Terry had to correct a lot of the mistakes made by the helpers. On the day the job was supposed to be "completed" the water was turned on and there was a leak that ruined the ceiling in my downstairs bathroom. At this point, Terry stated how he doesn't like doing plumbing and thought he wouldn't have had to when hired by Jason. That's the last thing you want to hear when you just paid over $20,000 for a job with plenty of plumbing. Me being the complete fool that I am, felt bad for the workers and said I would fix the ceiling myself. So for whatever reason I paid the full amount owed and thought this horrible experience was over. However. immediately after they were complete with the job, I found the following problems that I fixed myself because I was just tired of dealing with the whole thing: 1. Leaking sink in the laundry room 2. Leaking sink in the kitchen 3. Incorrectly installed dishwasher 4. Power washed my back patio to clean up left over tile and mortar mess 5. Gas dryer was installed incorrectly that led to a gas leak There are also plenty of little things that I constantly notice were done incorrectly or haphazardly. In addition to the problems with the work, once we were putting our house back together, we learned that one of Jason's employees stole from our house our wedding gift cards and my wife's piggy bank filled with gift cards. Jason initially promised he would make this right but to no surprise he failed to fulfill this promise. Jason did send Terry out to fix cracking of grout in the shower in January. But that is already cracking again. Honestly, I was just so sick and tired of everything that I wanted to move on and forget it even happened, which is why I didn't post a review in January. However, now it's May and we used the bathtub for the first time and of course it is leaking into my kitchen's ceiling. Hopefully, Jason will fix this problem but who knows with how the rest of the project went down. I've never been so disappointed in an entire process than I have been with this whole ordeal. I'm posting this review in hopes that it will prevent other people from making the mistake I made.
