Recent Review: He was very nice and polite. He responded with plans and an estimate within the time period expected which was a week. It seemed like a fair price and good plan. He was very professional. We just ended up going with a local provider but it had nothing to do with Rick. We highly recommend him.

Recent Review: The carport was ordered by Pine Creek Structures  from H.B.O. Carports in North Carolina.  They brought it with a team on installers, let me know when it was coming, called that day and did the instillation within two hours.  All was done well, professionally and up to speck.  It's been installed about two months now and all is well.

Recent Review: Great experience. Mike returned our initial call promptly and came to talk to us and look at the space for our intended structure the next day. He listened and asked appropriate questions. It was clear he understood what we wanted and was familiar with our construction needs. He got a written estimate to us quickly and followed up with our township on the building permit, speaking to their office and inspector on our behalf (we had called and approved his ability to interface directly with them.) Our township requires that a very lengthy, detailed application be submitted and at Mike's suggestion, we did hire an architect to submit the drawings, but Mike discounted his quote by the cost of the architectural fees. Mike and his crew were quiet, hard-working and quick. The work site was always neat and clean and they cleaned up thoroughly each afternoon. They worked in the rain and snow and cold just as hard as when the weather was good. We consulted with them occasionally, and they accommodated our tiny tweaks. At one point Mike recommended upgrading some lumber on a portion of the deck that is very visible and having seen the two options, he was 100% correct and we were grateful that he brought us the better option. The deck was completed in under two weeks and is well built and nicely finished. It is a mix of composite and wood at our request. The under portion is a carport. Mike and his crew had to cut down trees and excavate roots. They graded and lined the floor followed by laying and tamping stone. They also installed an attractive, channeled "roof" with a gutter on one end so that water from rain or snow that might have otherwise dripped through the joints in the decking onto our car, is now routed away. We had a tight lattice added to two sides of the carport (it is attached to an existing garage) and Mike thought to attach it in such a way as to be easy to remove so that the side of the steps that come down along the one side can easily be stained in the Spring.   We continue to be very impressed with Mike and his talented, hard-working crew.

Recent Review: When faced with a costly repair, even a necessary one, it is normal to be suspicious and skeptical of explanations and selling points.  When we met both members of the Sipes family, I immediately felt assured and confident that these two men knew what they were talking about.  We were impressed that they primarily only work on flat and slope roofs and were also experienced in restoration work and remodeling.  I checked out their website and saw the extent of their worksmanship and the quality of comments from other clients. Chad Sipes (son) assured me that the roof will be done to code and standards and able to withstand local weather conditions.  We went up on the roofs and we were explained every process and detail in a language that we could understand.  I was pointed out flaws and errors, which may have been responsible for the previous roofs poor performance and was told how they would be corrected to be more efficient. We walked both roofs and discussed all changes and work needed to be done. We were updated almost daily with the progress and was informed if weather was going to prohibit them from working a certain day.  Due to rain, they came on Saturdays to catch up on work and stay on schedule. When adding a larger, more efficient drain, we ran into the obstacle of a steel beam which prohibited the drain pipe from exiting to hook into the downspout.  Both Mr. Sipes, one of the workers and myself, discussed the problem, the potential to ruin the lines of the architecture, and came up with a solution that was ingenious and practical but did not interfere in the lines of a breezeway opening. We were very, very impressed. When the work was completed, I went out to examine the roofs and came up with a few questions for Chad.  These were sent in an email on a Sunday.  On the following Monday morning, two roofing techs were at my house and ready to knock out the punch list of items that I had questioned.  All was done to perfection and you would have never known that they were there. If there is anyone requiring roofing or any other work requiring a general contractor, please look into Sipes and Son.  They have managed to maintain knowledge, skill, standards, an excellent staff, ethics and pride in their work.  Their staff was cordial, hard working, knowledgable, polite and respectful of someone's property.  They are to be commended. Sipes & Son will be back next spring to do other projects for me.  It is re-assuring to know that there are still craftsmen out there who enjoy what they do and are excellent at it!
