Recent Review: Rain hindered their progress but not their attitudes. They were on site early, everyday. Used extra care to protect the surrounding areas (screen enclosure, pool, house, doors.. etc). Very professional, they did an excellent job from start to finish. When the job was done they cleaned up completely. I'm very satisfied and would recommend Cat Resurfacing to my family and friends. Great job, thanks!

Recent Review: The house building started out okay.  He estimated construction would take 6 months.  It took almost a year.  He subcontracted much of the construction (slab, frame, electrical, plumbing...).  All the subcontractors did a great job.  All the things he did were done poorly.  He and his wife painted the house and the trim work is sloppy.  The crown moulding is uneven and the seams are visible.  The tile in the bathroom is the worst.  His tile man does not understand the concept of a straight line.  None of the interior pocket doors or closet doors would open correctly at closing.  We reviewed the floor plans at the beginning and initialed them.  After construction started we found he was using the wrong set of plans.  As a result, a wall between the dining room and living room had to be added in after the fact.  It is about 2 feet away from where it was supposed to be.  Significantly changed the entire layout of the rooms.  The price of the house included countertops.  We wanted granite but he refused to subcontract for them.  I had to have them installed myself WITH the agreement that he would compensate us for what his cost would have been (estimated at about $5000.00).  He never paid us for that.  There was a $2500.00 allowance for appliances.  We purchased the appliances WITH the understanding that he would pay us the $2500.00.  He never paid us for that.  After we moved in, I went to have my back yard fenced in.  The surveyor agreed to come back out to mark the corners of the property so I could be sure where the fence went.  Guess what?  I then discovered that Doug Scott did not sod my entire back yard!  Just some friendly advice: avoid this guy like the plague.  I think Doug Scott stopped building homes after mine.  That was about the time the housing market went south.  Hopefully he will stay retired.  Also, all contractors are licensed by the State of Florida.  I consulted them and they were useless.  Nothing they could or would do.  I even consulted a lawyer.  It would have cost as much to sue him as I was owed. You've been WARNED!

AJohn Lloyd Builders Inc
We bought the land in 2004, prior to the hurricane season.  John was recommend by a friend who had her house and her mother's house built by him.  We started working with John in March 2004 and signed a contract to build our house in June 2004.   As first-time home builders we has lots of questions about building codes, materials, reading blueprints, etc.  John was very patient about answering all of our questions.  The land was scheduled to be cleared in summer 2004.  Hurricanes Jean and Frances delayed the schedule and with materials in short supply, work didn't begin until early 2005. We found John Lloyd to be an honest, conscientious person. For example, when a crack developed as the house foundation dried, he brought in a structural engineer to evaluate the foundation.  The engineer found it was sound and to ensure that the tile that would be laid on top stayed securely in place, the engineer recommended that a membrance be overlaid on top of the foundation.  John took this at his cost and had the work done.  Our tile is perfect 6 years later. John was there whenever each of the sub-contractors came, checking on their work, answering our questions (we rented a place 4 blocks away), and correcting anything that wasn't being done according to his (high) standards.  We were very pleased with the workmanship. The work continued in a timely manner, accommodating hurricanes and supply shortages.  We moved in March 2006..  The house is well built with no structural flaws.
