Recent Review: He was very thorough, spoke to me throughout the process, explaining why some things were or were not of concern. His explanations were understandable, even though they were about engineering concepts. He was very respectful of my questions and, even when something turned out to be inconsequential, he explained why and how, and was never dismissive. The report which he produced was extremely thorough, with pictures illustrating each point, and an excellent explanation of the items listed and their impact on the integrity of the building. We plan to sell, and this report would fully address a buyer's questions, and would be useful if they wanted to submit it to their own engineer for a second opinion.

Recent Review: Mr. Pendergraf was punctual and provided an evaluation of the brick work over the garage. He also inspected the rest of the outside of the house. His report was thorough and easy to comprehend. He, as a structural engineer, determined that minor repairs were all that were needed instead of removing and replacing the brick work. His report saved us at least $2000. I would use him again.

Recent Review: I needed an inspection from a structural engineer for a home I'm purchasing and he was recommended by my realtor.   He gave a very professional inspection, describing all his observations at length and including recommendations for the report along with many suggestions for places and conditions I should watch for as the homeowner to catch any future developments in the home.  The recommendations he gave came with exacting descriptions of what should and should not be done to remedy the conditions. I have recommended him to friends and would use him again without hesitiation.

After discovering some cracks along the north wall of our home, we investigated and then decided to contact a structural engineer for a professional analysis as to why the cracks were appearing at certain points within the foundation and structure of the home and what we needed to do to fix the problem.  After reviewing Angie's List, we noticed Anasazi Engineering reviews were very positive so we contacted Mr. Gendill, the owner, and set up an appointment to evaluate the condition of the property.  Mr. Gendill arrived promptly, was very professional and thoroughly explained  as a structural engineer what his skill set provided and how his assessment could help us pinpoint what exactly was creating the cracks in the walls and what steps to take to repair the problem. The assessment took about 2 hours. Once Mr. Gendill was finished with the review and evaluation, he stated that he would provide a written report and recommendations to explain his findings to us within 3 days. The engineering report was emailed to us within 3 days at a cost of $400. The cost and information I received was more than worth the price when one considers the technical information and insight that was provided to repair the problems. I would highly recommend Anasazi Engineering and Mr.Gendill as an excellent structural engineer.

I liked his professionalism, his courtesy, promptness in all of his services other than he has not given us an unwritten estimate because of backlog.

We made the call and everything was handled professionally from the moment we contacted Anasazi.  Scheduling was easy.  Jim arrived at the day and time he scheduled with us.  With a new house, we wanted a professional to provide recommendations, which is what we got with this provider. The analysis took under an hour, and we received a professional report within a week.  We are completely satisfied with this service. I couldn't judge the price here as we did not price shop. However, we feel like the price was worth it for the piece-of-mind and recommendations.  I recommend Anasazi to anyone who needs structural engineering services.

The Structural Engineer (Mr Robert Zahl) observed and photographed cracks in the walls of our home, we wanted to see what was causing the cracks and how should we fix it. We received a one page easy to read and understand report with recommendations. In our case he suggested we solve a drainage problem and then monitor the cracks to see when the foundation has re-stabilized at which point we could repair the cosmetic damage, none of the damage was negatively affecting the structural integrity of the home. He stated that in our case expensive piers under the foundation would not be beneficial and in fact may cause more problems. Had we decided to install piers (we already had an estimate given to us) it would have cost a minimum $4,000 and may have caused more long term problems. I highly recommend Zahl-Ford but schedule in advance as they are busy do to the amount of damaged caused by the drought and past earthquakes.

Jim Gendill, the owner and inspector, came out at appointed time and conducted a thorough inspection of the exterior, interior of the house. He also went under the crawl space to inspect the foundation. He sent me a report of the findings and recommendations for repair. I spoke to him at length after I read the report to understand the issues and plan of action for repair. Jim was very knowledgeable and helpful.
