We contacted Mr. Comptom after reading his excellent reviews on Angie's List. We had a fairly long list of minor repairs that we needed to do around the house, but due to our health issues we have been unable to complete. He came out and gave us an estimate for his labor and an idea of what the materials would cost. Most importantly we gave Mr. Compton a deadline and he was able to exceed our expectations in regards to our timeline. We agreed to hire Mr. Compton and believe the price he charged us was fair considering the range of skills we needed him to have to do the needed work. Mr. Compton arrived promptly on the first day of work and for the following two days it took to complete the work. He worked efficiently and took pride in his work. Mr. Compton saved us some money by re-using some supplies that we already had on hand. He was a very neat worker and always cleaned up his work space prior to the end of the day. A complete surprise to us is that Mr. Compton didn't charge us for some of the labor he performed. For example, once he was on site and saw the quality of his work, we added a few other odd jobs. He did those at no charge and even supplied the materials needed to do the work. When we asked him about how he wanted to pay, Mr. Compton replied, "Never pay a contractor until the job is done to your satisfaction!" That sounded like good advice to me since we are pretty inexperienced with using outside contractors. We were hopeful to have the eaves of our house painted but Mr. Compton said that he wasn't comfortable doing that type of work, but he loaned us his ladders so my son could come over and get the job done for us. Mr. Compton kept his receipts and only charged us for the materials that he provided the receipts for documentation. Mr. Compton ended up charging us LESS than the original estimate because it took him less time to get the job done than he thought. On top of everything else, you will never meet a nicer guy. He was very friendly and upbeat. He made some good recommendations to us and let us know his limitations. At the end of the transaction, we agreed to contact him for some other work we have that needs to be done as more money in our budget becomes available. Without a doubt, if you live in Norman, Oklahoma you cannot go wrong with Mr. Compton!
