I expected more of an eye-rolling, whatever-lady kind of a response, so I was cheered to hear that they would help her feel more comfortable during the process. They made it super easy for me to schedule and pay for the service, even though I couldn't physically be there, with invoice and payment online. And they were available for the very next day. The team arrived right on time at 8am, assessed the stuff, and gave an estimate. The estimate was a little higher than I'd hoped for, and the team lead called the office to see if he could offer a discount. This saved about $200 (12-15%), which was a huge help at a time when we're spending lots of money for steam-cleaning, duct-cleaning, chimney-cleaning, and all the other expenses that come with moving. The team worked briskly and professionally, and was at the house until almost 3:30pm. When they came across some boxes of old checks, the team gave them to my partner because of the identity-theft risk. They asked questions where they thought something might be a keeper, which was thoughtful and kind. Through the day, while I was working, my partner sent me photos of the freshly-emptied rooms, and it felt like a relief and a freedom to have the stuff be just gone. It was also a relief to work with people who were kind and patient, thoughtful and considerate. I would not hesitate to recommend Horton Hauls Junk to anyone who needs their services... and hopefully nobody needs them nearly as much as we did!
