Recent Review: We have chosen this installer because of theirassociation with Home Depot and very personable and knowledgeable sale representative (former installer). The high efficiency furnace and the furnace attachments we have chosen needed very specific installment procedures. The crew did very professional job and we are very happy with the results.

Recent Review: Installation went smoothly they installed the valve for water for humidifier on the cold water line, mounted the humidifier on the return side of the furnace, installed the Honeywell thermostat, and installed the Air Guard.   They wired the humidifier to the furnace so that it comes on when the furnace comes on, wired the thermostat with to the 24v source, and wired the Air Guard using the 24v source.   There was a little problem getting the humidifier to function but when they left at 2:00pm it was working.  I left and returned at 6:00pm and the house was at 59 degrees and I couldn't get the heater to kick in.   I called Jeff (JT Mechanical) and he gave me Mike's (installers) phone number and Mike came back out and spent another two hours researching the problem.    Mike noticed that the temperature on the thermostat would jump two degrees when the heater would initialized.  He checked all the voltages and conferred with Honeywell and was told that it probably wasn't the thermostat.   In the end Mike replaced the Honeywell thermostat base and that was the problem.    I can't say enough about the service since they fixed the problem right away on a very cold night.   I have been running the unit for about a week and it works great.  The temp on the thermostat seems to be a little high (2 degrees) but Mike says that can be adjusted.

Recent Review: He was very, very nice when he called me and gave me information today. Come to find out the advertisement for the deal is being pulled because it does not cover the electrical and plumbing work I need due to not having a humidifier on my unit. They also do not service my area. He offered to have someone else help me, but the estimate is twice what I expected to pay.

Recent Review: Very well. They responded very promptly, which was great -- otherwise, we would've had to wait until the following week. They hadn't installed the system, but took the time to look it over and tell us about it, and discussed the humidifier and next steps (it's old), and identify the supply line and cutoff valve for us.

Recent Review: Outstanding job on crawl space - even other contractors have commented on it. Good job on sealing ducts. Not happy with humidifier performance or their reaction when I called. The humidifier does not even come close to maintaining a reasonable humidity level. When I called them they immediately asked for a service fee just to look at it.

Reviews in Norfolk for Installing Central Humidifier

FRS Andrews
The installation of the new humidifier began on September 25 and continued on Oct 9, Oct 23, Nov 1, Nov 29, and is scheduled again for Nov 30. Every time a technician came to my house at 8:00 or 8:30am and spent the entire day and the humidifier is not installed yet. Aside from having to take annual leave during the weekdays, and making several weekends very stressful, I work a night shift so morning appoints are very inconvenient for me. Their scheduling office once called me at home (even though they have my office number) late on a Friday afternoon and left a voicemail on my answering machine saying the technician would be out early on Saturday morning. They did not ask if I would be available (which, on such short notice, I was not) and I was unable to cancel the appointment because their office was closed long before I got home and received the message. Today (November 29), I stayed home all day and, at 4:00pm, the technicians told me "another technician will be out tomorrow to turn on the humidifier." That will be another day of annual leave. I asked if the technician could come out after 4:00 today and they said no, he was booked for the day. (I suppose they only have one technician who can turn on a humidifier.) Then, when I finished supper tonight, I found that they had disconnected my kitchen light and garbage disposal while "installing" the humidifier. So far, those are the only things I have found to be not working. I fear to check the upstairs! I called the company -- which, of course, is closed -- and left a message with the answering service that the technicians who were out today need to come back tomorrow and hook up my garbage disposal and kitchen light again -- after which time, the technician who turns on the humidifier probably won't be able to turn it on.... which I seriously doubt will ever happen anyway!

The technician arrived on time and ready to go. He was very knowledgeable and patient in light of my numerous non-humidifier related HVAC questions. Generally, I try to do most small home projects myself but I was leery of messing with the HVAC. After hearing a few worst-case scenarios about friends spending 5-7 hours installing humidifiers, I decided $369 was a great price to pay for the equipment/installation.

BService Today!
On time, a bit spacy, did the work but did not give me any information about maintenance etc. Tried to upsell me a service plan. I found the manual left in my basement.

They were timely. The one they advertised, they didn't recommend but their workmanship was good. So, it ended up costing me more because he recommended a different one. They came out when they said they will. I had no issues at all.

The service man was extremely polite and efficient. He was very thorough in checking all parts of the furnace. He took the filter out of the humidifier and told me where I could purchase a new one and clearly explained how to install it. He also pointed out that my furnace needs a particlar filter according to the warranty on my furnace. He does not sell that filter, so he was not trying to sell a product to me. He arrived promptly and completed the work in one hour.
