Reviews in New York Tristate Area for Window Insulation
ATriple H Insulation, Heating & Cooling
We had a great result using them. I originally called because of an issue in a room with a bay window - it was very cold in the window, as though they didn't insulate properly underneath. They offered to come in and do the energy audit. Their recommendations were reasonable, and included a fix for the bay window insulation issue. There was no "hard sell". Their estimated savings for implementing the improvements were $1700 / year. We had the option to finance and roll the costs into our PSEG LI bill, or pay up front (and get a small additional discount). I've recommended them to others, who have had similar positive results.

AAlure Home Improvements Inc
Alure is a class act. I consider them the most reasonably priced high-end contractor. Designs are excellent. They are patient and want to please. Did not nickel and dime on on changes. Cleaned up every day. Stayed on schedule. Gave us several gift certs for dinners when the premises were unusable. Their points program generated a free 8-day trip for us!

I left the provider a voicemail on Wednesday at midday and received a call later that evening. The individual, Asif, stated he would send me an e-mail relaying the scope of work and cost estimate as well as put me in touch with the 'handyman' that would be performing the work. I did not receive any e-mails nor call on Thursday. I called back Friday and left a voicemail inquiring as to the status of the e-mail and/or response on a date/time for the performance of work. It is now Monday evening and I have yet to receive a response. And the thing is...I just joined Angie's List and these were the first providers I contacted because of the numerous positive reviews and grade received (except for the review prior to mine).

Dave did a number of projects around my house. What I liked best about Dave was his honesty - if he felt he was not qualified to do a repair he said so. He installed a tool rack in my garage, adjusted my storm windows, insulated my boiler pipes, repaired a stain on my kitchen ceiling, installed a toilet seat, and adjusted cabinet doors. I would use him again in the future.

AHeartland Village Handyman Services
We called Heartland Handyman Services for what we thought was just to paint 2 rooms. Javier showed us there was much more involved. With little to no effort at all, he showed us that the room's window was not seated and secure. The window sill came off with a little tug. Inside the wall were signs of water leaks. In the other room, the floor had been damaged and since it could not bear any weight, we could step through the floor. Heartland had to open up the outside siding, repair the exterior wall, reseal the siding, reseat the windows, insulate the walls, besides the original plan to paint the 2 rooms. He also had to reinforce the outer wall, repair the underflooring and install a new floor.

Workers used my equipment (vacuum, shop-vac, hammers, drop-cloths, saw, screwdrivers and others). The shop-vac and the vacuum were useless after that. There was some heavy dust from work on foundation of home that they cleaned up with my vacuum and shop-vac. I kept coming home to find more and more of my tools being used? Even after telling him no, still going on. He told me he would pay for the shop-vac, but he never did. Instead it was a bartering tool to get someone in to finish the last window (see below). He had to come back three times to finally get last window installed - some 3 months later. And... low and behold that window now doesn't open any more. Crap product, or shoddy work? His initial visit to our home was prolonged by him telling me he did work on Donald Trump's home, long story teller. I should have been flagged right there, but shame on me. HIs initial quote did not give an estimate as to when work would be done. I asked him about that and he said 'you'll have to trust me, I own't screw you.' But he did. The work was verbally quoted to be done in 2-3 weeks. It took over 2 months - 4 months if you invlude that last window. . This was the first time my wife and I hired someone to work on the home. Just like them and others who have given us these same stories... his mother died during construction, his worker got into an auto accident and he himself was rushed to the hospital with a heart problem. I think every construction guy's mother dies on every job; just to extend the work schedule. . He was a professional scammer. . Anyone who would like to come visit my home to see his lousy work is welcome. I wouldn't hire him to cut my rose bush. Not trust worthy and hardly there. Drops the workers off and disappears. . I lived and learned.

CBrooklyn Insulation & Soundproofing, Inc.
I called and left a message stating what I needed and left my contact information. I did not receive a return call for approx. 1 1/2 days. They weren't the right company for a small size window insulation repair job and referred me to another company (can't remember who). I called them and was given the name and number of a third company. At that point, I discontinued. I don't have time to play tag by being given numbers of companies or contractors who "may" or "may not" be able to take care of the job I needed. I wouldn't recommend these people unless you have a large space to insulate. If so, you would be wise to get prices from a few other companies, they seemed very expensive.

Execellent experience every time. Kosta and his crew do great work to near perfection. Always on time and does what he says he is going to do. Never hit me up for unneccesary extras. They work quick and they were clean. He had previously put an 18x18 extension on my house ( about 8 years ago) and the work was fantastic. Summer 2011 he built me a great shed in the back yard. In the fall we decided to finish the 1 st floor of my home. We did two bedrooms, the hall, stairs and living room. All new windows, insulation, sheetrock, paint, molding plus the fireplace was completly redone. They also rebuilt my front stoop becuase it was sinking and falling apart. The total job took about 3 weeks to complete, they were lucky that the weather did not interfere. Kosta set out a fair payment schedule , with payment being made at each pre specifed completion. His price was very resonable for the amount of work he did, and he didn't try to take advantage every time I made a change or addition. Overall I and my wife are very satisifed with his work. We are scheduling a bathroom remodel with him just as soon as we have more money. I would recommend him to anyone who asked.

AJ Morisco Contracting Corp Inc
This was a thinking project. Jim had to figure out how to remove prior contractor's sloppy and inadequate job by removing pieces of trim inside and outside without jeopardizing the large sheet of glass. Not a job that most would take on. Jim did an incredible job. He figured it out, and executed the job in an extremly smart and meticulous manner. His workmanship is impeccable. I plan to hire Jim for future projects and would highly recommend him.

I will keep this short and sweet. This past year, my family and I have so enjoyed our new window, insulation, siding, shutters, gutters and leaders. Major Homes did such a stellar job on our home, we are thrilled every day. We noticed the difference immediately this winter with our new insulation and siding. Drafts were gone and we used less oil this past winter, and it was a cold one. So far this summer, we are also using our central AC less as the house holds the cool air way more efficiently and has no noticable leaks where the cold air can escape. Our old siding was a nightmare, which had no insulation under it in most areas. Also, we enjoy all the compliments we get from our friends and neighbors. we are saving to re-do our master bath next spring and we will absolutley hire Major Homes to help us create our dream bathroom; it is a no-brainer. They are the best.
Recent Review: Excellent. The Magnolia Team is professional, timely, and delivers as promised. My experience with them has been excellent. I would definitely use them for any of my future remodeling/Home needs.
Recent Review: Everything went very well. It was very windy the day they came to do the job. So that the house didn't get too cold, they shut the door to the room that they worked in. They set up their equipment outside, so not to mess up the house. They cleaned up inside and outside before leaving, no mess left behind. I just love my new windows, I was talking so much about how good they were, my son thought I was getting carried away.
Recent Review: Aaron, Bob, and the Thermoseal team were terrific to work with. Aaron, the owner, was friendly and patient as he helped us understand the various siding, insulation, and window options. Bob and the install team did a perfect job, from addressing some unexpected aspects of set-up through to a thorough clean-up job. The acoustical windows are the best home investment we've made yet. A+ work that comes with my highest recommendation,
Recent Review: After delays due to the weather, the work was started and completed in one day. An early start and the immediate removal of debris permitted the new roof to be completed by the end of the day. As with all jobs, unknown situations came up but Ryan immediately handled and solved them. All workers were extremely patient and pleasant. They answered all our questions and concerns as the work progressed. We would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone who wants a job done right.
Recent Review: Gene is professional, a clear communicator, reliable and knowledgeable. He explained everything simply, and gave us clear choices, recommendations, etc. He shows up when he says he’s going to, responds when you reach out, and did a great job on the projects we hired him for. We would definitely use him again, for insulation, renovation and repairs.
Recent Review: One of the most scary things a homeowner has to do is hire a contractor. Every story and fear comes to mind. WORRY NOT with Joseph Ashley and his team. Coming from a family of roofers and contractors ourselves we are knowledgeable in the field and this crew was one of the best we have worked with. Joe is honest and well versed in all levels of construction and will go over every detail with you. The team of men are skilled, professional and polite. If a person gives you a lower bid Don't ask Joe why....ask the other guy how they are doing it for less and you will see that you may not be comparing apples to apples. The materials used were all top notch. All big jobs will run into issues but Joe goes out of his way to correct anything that may come up. Always on time. Always giving you more then you are expecting and honest. No we are not related. Hire Mr. Ashley and you will not have to worry. We will hire ACJ again for any home improvements we may need. If there is a wait do it. All good things come to those who wait. Oh yea... Ice coffee from Dunkin Donuts in the afternoon seems to be a crew favorite. These men work hard for you. Thanks a million to this fine team of men. Our house looks amazing and we are not easy to please.

Recent Review: They did a great job. They came on Wednesday and did most of the work, all that was left was for them to come back on Friday to sand, prime and paint. Very neat, cleaned up after themselves and took all the debris.
Recent Review: Denise came out to perform the measurements and give us the estimate. She was totally knowledgeable, extremely professional, and very efficient. Bob, the installer, was just excellent. Excellent service. He was very efficient in his installation. He did all 11 windows in an hour and a half and everything is just perfect.
Recent Review: These guys are booked out months in advance for good reason, they are very professional and do very good work. They coordinated excavations on the outside of the property and several jobs from different contractors inside the basement and finished everything ahead of schedule and right on budget. The quality of the workmanship was top notch on everything they did. They left the worksite very clean. Overall: we had a warm-weather-only seasonal cottage with a basement that flooded in the spring, and no way to keep our pipes from freezing in the winter, and in three days these guys turned it into a year-round home.
