Charles Stewart and sons did an excellent job putting in a new roof. They were on time and very pleasant to deal with. Will definitely use them again.

ACity Suburb, Inc.
Ravi is professional, responsive, honest and easy to work with- qualities that are hard to find. He took time on-site to inspect the roof to give me an accurate quote. Instead of upselling me a new roof, he walked me through exactly what was necessary vs nice to have and stands by the quality of his work. As a homeowner, this is everything! He and his team arrived on time, were courteous and came with their own masks in this time of COVID-19. Instead of rushing the work, his team returned the next day to tie up loose ends and finish strong. This says a lot about his commitment to good work. Body of work included repairing roof, replacing gutter and downspout using quality material, installed a dryer vent , sealed any cracks/seams and full roof inspection to catch anything we didn't discuss. I chose City Suburb because of their high positive reviews and body of work the company performs outside of just roofing. They made this process easy, I will hire them again and recommend them to others.

ATri-State General Construction INC
I was so pleased with Tri-State General Contractors, and especially with Tony. He was so fair and informative. He was punctual and neat. His professionalism is refreshing. I called a few other contractors for quotes, and either they did not show up or they came and I had to chase them for an actual quote. Tony, on the other hand, was very helpful. He spent a lot of time explaining the job to us. I would use Tri-State again on jobs, big and small!

APrime Home Exteriors
I just purchased a home and within weeks we noticed the roof leaking. We thought we would need a whole new roof but when John can our he found the problem and it was only the flat section of the roof that needed replacing. We were prepared to spend over 10,000 dollars on a whole new roof based on what other contractors told us. Thank god we got a second opinion. John explained that we still had plenty of life left of the regular shingle roof and only the flat roof needed replacing. He saved us so much money and he got the John done within a week of our original phone call. It’s nice to see there are still some honest contractors out there

AERIC'S ROOFING INC
Eric was very knowledgeable and explained job thoroughly. I had 3 other quotes all who recommended for a new roof. Eric said roof look great and just needed some maintenance. Saved me a bundle.

AWilliam & Hugh Roofing
I originally contacted Hugh to do what I thought would be minor maintenance on the roof, but he found a few spots that were leaky, even though the damage wasn't yet apparent inside the house. He presented the options for fixing and had a good warranty. His crew was fast and professional and finished the work the next day. We've had a few big rainstorms since the new roof was installed, and so far, so good! No one likes finding out that they need a new roof when they think they're just due for maintenance, but Hugh made the experience as smooth and reasonable as could be hoped. I would hire again if I had other roofing needs.

ACharles Stewart Roofing
I used services of Charles Steward twice. First he installed new shingle roof in June 2017. And then in 2018 I called him to fix the leak and to coat the flat roof. In both cases they did excellent job. Always on time and very efficient.

Did their work. Very clean in cleaning up debris. Exceptional. Provided everything they said they would. Never would've known they were there. Replaced attic exhaust fan. Replaced roof antennae
Recent Review: Chris was great with the process from start to finish. Old roof was removed and my new roof was put on in one day. Also had a few sheets of decking that needed to be replaced. Great and through job.
Recent Review: In spite of more rot than we expected, AJT did a great job. They were professional and cleaned up after themselves. We're very happy we hired them and would do it again if we needed them.
Recent Review: Original cost was approximately $4,400 to replace roof. Unfortunately, when old roof shingles were removed, most of plywood was rotted and the entire roof needed new plywood which added an additional $2,900 to cost. The tear down was amazing. Tarps were attached to the entire house (rather than using a dumpster for cleanup). The tarps contained all the debris. Then magnets were used to scrub all side of the house for old nails. The lawn, shrubs and all surrounding area of the house were totally clean when they were finished with clean-up. I was happy a dumpster was not used because the weight can cause damage to driveways, in particular indentations, and most contractors don't even make you aware of how they are going to protect your driveway from these marks, including paying for damages caused by them. The new roof was then put on the house. The roof was beautiful when complete, including the pattern made by the shingles. Kovach Roofing is a class act. I got 4 estimates prior to using Kovach, but after sitting and talking with one of the owners, I felt confident, immediately, that the job would be done honestly and professionally. And it was!
Recent Review: Paul went to look at the roof on the unoccupied house the same day I contacted him. He called me afterward with his $1,400 estimate and asked me to send him a 50% deposit. I asked him about the first time customer and senior citizen discounts he advertises and he declared that those discounts were already deducted from his estimate although we hadn't talked about them. Paul was the most forthright of the contractors I had look at the job. I mailed the $700 deposit to the address he emailed to me. Three days before the work was scheduled, Paul called about my deposit check and we discovered that he made an error in the address he told me to send it to. We agreed that I would stop the check and I'd deduct the stop payment fee from the total payment that I'd give him when the job was done. There was some rain the week before the work was to be done and Paul called to delay the job by a day to allow the roof to dry thoroughly. Paul and his helper came on time and finished the work in the three hours he estimated. I asked him if he would put a soffit cover back up for me and he did that without a problem and no additional charge. The only surprise, while the work was under way, was Paul's announcement that the chimney flashing was in poor shape and he hadn't included that repair in his work estimate. He wanted another $500 to do that work and repoint the chimney morter which I balked at so he did some minimal patching to seal the flashing to prevent any leaks around the chimney. I paid him with a personal check and he gave me a receipt with his one year warranty statement on it. I believe the work Paul and his helper did is good and sound but I'll find out for sure when we get some heavy rain and snow.
Recent Review: We give our highest recommendation to C. Johnston and Sons for brownstone exterior and roofing work. Charles and his sons are highly professional, punctual, responsible, and responsive. They made thoughtful suggestions and recommendations, and were very expert in their approach. They did top quality work on our late-1800s brick brownstone, including some difficult façade repair. Just as important, they were pleasant and easy to work with, always on time or early, very responsive to all of our questions and concerns, and actually left their work spaces cleaner than they were to begin with. Their prices also seem quite fair and reasonable. A good experience in every way.
Recent Review: Al and his team did an excellent job. I had a leak in my roof. They inspected the roof to see what the problem was. Once repaired, we waited for the rain. I called Al because there was still an issue, they came the next morning. He was very responsive and they took care of it. No More Leaks!!! Thanks Al!
