Reviews in New York Tristate Area to Install Floating Floor
I didn't have a good experience. The floating floor was installed over an uneven slab floor, which made the floating floor crack. When they came back to fix the floating floor, they re-used pieces of the broken flooring, which did not fix or solve the problem. The polish job on the floors in the upstairs was not to my standard, (there were drip marks, some parts might have been over polished, and it looked uneven). I would not recommend Checkers Flooring to others.

I was told I would get a call the night before, which never happened so I was not sure they would show after arranging for someone to be at my home. The worker did show on time but I never got the opportunity to discuss the project, price, or expectations ahead of time. I then contacted the office and the owner promptly called back and got all the instructions which he passes on to the worker who did a great job. After the job was complete the owner contacted me to say the bill came to an additional $260. which although it seems to be a reasonable price, he could have said much more and the job was already done. The owner was considerate and professional I hope that was just a one time incident because I do plan to use him again for floor sanding. All in all I am very pleased.

ARJO Home Improvements LLC
RJO showed up on the date and time exactly as promised. He helped moving appliances out of the kitchen and then back when the floor was finished. Completed the job all in one day. Worked non stop, cut no corners and did everything right. The job went exactly as one would hope.

Alan did a great job. The mid century cabinet had been on my floor for over five years and I was so happy when Alan finished the job. This was not an easy task as my walls are very difficult to work with. Alan worked diligently and methodically to get the cabinet installed on the wall, paying attention to it being level and symmetrical. I have other jobs I need to get done and will definitely have no hesitation in hiring Alan again.

I recently purchased a new home that needed some updating. I called smart carpet to install a floating hardwood floor on my first level. The representative was awesome and knew exactly what I wanted. He said after the floors went in they would put new quarter round and there would be extra wood pieces incase something needed to be replaced down the line. On install day the two workers were great and explained everything to me. He said he would call me an hour before he was ready to wrap up because it was an all day project. When I arrived everything looked good. He showed me the remaining payment and our numbers were different. It turns out that the representative didn't do his math correctly. They also missed putting quarter round in certain places and left me with NO replacement wood. I mailed the check for the discrepancy and was told he would find out about the extra pieces and quarter round. Obviously my check was cashed and I didn't receive a phone call.... They did a great job and I bought quarter round for $2 at Home Depot (not a big deal). But don't tell me I will have extra pieces and I don't...and don't say you'll call me back to rectify the situation and you don't. I also think the money difference should have been picked up by smart carpet due to the problems and the representative's mistake. I would use them again, but double check everything!!

Cannot say enough of how much of a professional Ishmael is. From the start of the job to the finish he was a consummate professional. The apartment is a co-op and the board required a lot of information in order to approve the work. Ishmael was very responsive to all my request and promptly delivered all the documentation. He was also very responsive to all my questions and could easily be contacted whenever I had a question. His quote to do the job was reasonable and the job he did was excellent. I highly recommend his services and would not hesitate to hire him again for any future flooring needs.

We contracted for a floating wood floor with owner. However, the workers installed a party glued floor. The workers were not on time and very disrespectful. When we stopped payment on the second installment due to incorrect work the owner Victor called us on the phone screaming and cursing at us. We attempted to explain to him that we contracted for a floating floor and we did not approve a half glued floor with big T floor moldings. Victor threatened us, became irate and refused to listen unless we parishes m the second of three installments.

Recent Review: Well, it wasn't just cut the pipe on either side of the leak and replace with a new elbow type of job I imagined. The pipe wasn't copper so the whole thing had to be removed, which involved ripping up my 100 year old powder room floor, which in turn meant a total rehab of the guest bathroom. I know it needs doing but $49.00 worth of plumber wasn't in the cards. Nice enough they checked out two other dripping faucets, one was another nightmare job and the last was a perfect job. It was an old blue stone sink faucet that was make in 1890's and had finally developed a leak. It took some hard work to fix as it was the original faucet but they did it it perfectly and I am so pleased. In fact I am currently waiting for them to fax me over an estimate to relace my 100+ year old furnace and close up my 1000 gallon oil tank. These guys are amazing and you're crazy if you think you can do better than them.I'll let you all know how the next job goes!
Recent Review: The workers were very professional and extremely experienced in flooring. The job, when finished, was left neat and clean. The vinyl flooring was the best idea (thanks to David) that could have happened because of the durability and beauty.

Recent Review: I recently had work done to the front of our house. The remodeling consists of new siding and installing new stone on the lower level. The work was completed in little over a week. Mr. Joseph Santillo was a great find, he's a professional in every way possible. His crew arrived on time every day and did excellent work from start to finish. Find a contractor if difficult at best. Joe, made the process easy. When the job was completed it was exactly as I hoped for. Thank you Joe for a job well done. Hope to see you in the furture on my next project. In closing I, would like to say I, would absolutlely recommend Joseph Ashely to any one.

Recent Review: This is the second time we have had work done on our home by Korkmaz Rugs & Flooring. As always, it was a pleasure working with Deniz. We had some old carpeting removed from our basement (and the stairs) and the floors leveled for new flooring. After discussing what we wanted to accomplish, Deniz gave us several excellent suggestions. We selected a floating vinyl flooring that will stand up to the moisture in the basement but looks like hardwood floors. The floors look amazing and really makes our finished basement look like a nice family room. Korkmaz Flooring was professional, responsive and they did excellent work. Given how much work they did, the pricing was very fair. We will definitely use Korkmaz Flooring in the future.
Recent Review: Mike and Aslam helped reinstall my bathroom floating cabinet with under mount sink/countertop after the entire structure fell off from the wall. Thankfully the only damage was a cracked waste pipe! Mike was extremely responsive throughout the process. Aslam and Mike came to my house to brainstorm a plan to fix the issue and came up with an idea to simply add chrome legs to the existing cabinet. They replaced the waste pipe and recaulked the countertop to the wall with a clear silicone. The photos show the before and after shots. If only I could find the original owners contractor who installed this wrong. Thanks so much Mike & Aslam!
Recent Review: Glen from VZ flooring came to our house looked at the damage from hurricane sandy and gave us an estimate for the work we felt needed to be done. He gave us a fair price for rip up of our old floors, screwing down our floorboards for better support, installation and finishing of the new floors. He told us after the rip up we had to wait for the moisture levels of the sub floor to be right or the new floors would just warp and breeding for mold ground over time. After the rip up we waited about 10 to 14 days. He returned checked the moisture with a meter and determined we were ready to go but we noticed that some of the floorboards of the sub floor were not to secure and simply screwing the down for support was not going to cut it. He recommended Plywood over the subfloor for support. He deducted the price of screwing down the subfloor from the new installation of the plywood. They then went and installed sanded and finished the new floors we had some minor problems along the way but they were always addressed and fixed by the company without a hassle. We are very happy with our new floors and would recommend using VZ flooring to anybody.
Recent Review: Vinnie is simply an exceptional person and a great professional. Showed up on time for the free estimate with very little notice, took accurate measures, gave me a no-BS quote and installed the product earlier than expected. He worked around my and my tenants schedule and overall is a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended!!!
