AMerles Water Conditioning
World Class. The water of the city we live in is challenged by contamination from previous generations - to the degree of having made the New York Times in 2012. After talking to a broad range of highly rated water treatment companies - we turned to our World Class Mechanical Contractor - known and trusted for years - a company that specializes in "turnarounds" on large systems - when low bid contractors get in over their heads. When we asked who was best equipped to handle our situation - without hesitation - they replied - "Merle's". So to Merle's we went. Knowing our water situation - Merle's designed - provided - and operationalized the complete system - at an exceptionally fair price. Whole house carbon filtration - redundant water softening - high capacity RO - and last but not least - supplementary filtration tailored to address our extreme water. We now have a system that only requires a bag of salt every few months (~1/10th or our previous system) - simple annual maintenance - softener life expectancy of over 50 years - and World Class local support for the unexpected.

BSurge Water Conditioning
We are happy with the system so far and with overall sales / installation process done by Surge. However, I ranked the company B rather than A because of the following two reasons: 1. We had an agreement with Surge that at the end of the installation, we are going to have two separate spigots in the kitchen think: one for soft treated water and one for hard water. However, when the plumber showed up for the job and I was walking through the steps to be performed, I learned that they planned on using a cheap plastic pipe for the hard water (a tiny pipe - the one they use in reverse osmosis systems). The pipe would give us an inferior flow and, at best, would serve for 5-10 years before eventually breaking up... It is not supposed be used for hard water. When I asked Surge to have a regular pipe installed, they could not accommodate my request. In the end, we decided not to install the plastic pipe with Surge and will be going with another company to complete the plumbing for hard water. Surge decided not to adjust the price even though less amount of work was performed. 2. Surge performed the installation very quickly but they forgot to bring the cap for our salt tank and could not hall our old water softener away at the day of installation. We had to schedule another appointment 2 weeks later to have the job completed.

APeterson Salt & Water Treatment
I thought I might need a new water softener but they simply took afew minutes to tune up and reset the machine the previous owner had messed up.  No sales pitch.  Very impressed. Cheap and prompt.

APeterson Salt & Water Treatment
I was quoted a price for a new water softener, removal of the old softener, and water treatment system over the phone. All these items were $500 less then the last softener I bought from Culligan. Mark arrived early and was very professional. Overall it was an excellent experience.

APeterson Salt & Water Treatment
They were very thorough and clean. The company makes their own water softeners and my husband thinks we were sold more than we were needed, but we are still learning how to operate it. I think they were very responsive and came out quickly. I don't think they tried to over sale and they were priced better than some competitor's.

ATri County Water Conditioning
Tri County Water promptly scheduled an appointment for an estimate. The agent arrived early and was swift in reviewing my needs and preparing an estimate. Greg was very friendly and helpful answering all my questions and reviewing the specifications for the installation. They were able to install the system a week later as requested. The installer arrived promptly and got to work. He had to run a water line from the water heater to the treatment system that resulted in a portion of that line being visible. He did an excellent job of ensuring that the holes in the wall and the pipe location were minimal and discreet. He then cleaned up the work area thoroughly and was done in about an hour. Only after I goofed up on the payment did I go to their Prior Lake office to settle up. One of the owners, Renee, was there and handled my payment. She was just as friendly and helpful as Greg. I am thrilled with my water system and the service. I would not hesitate to recommend Tri County Water or to call them myself.

APeterson Salt & Water Treatment
Delivered Salt for our softener.  Easy - guy brought it in - dumped it in the hopper, left extra bag of salt, took away garbage.  Easy as that.

I'm not sure of the exact date.  I have Peterson come back every year to deliver salt for the really great softener that they installed.  I definitely recommend them.

BPeterson Salt & Water Treatment
The service provided was excellent, and the service tech was very professional.  I was dismayed, though, when I received the invoice and it was more than was quoted to me over the phone.  I paid the entire invoice, but did write the owner of the business a note to tell him about this and my dissatisfaction with the pricing.  I never heard back from.  |They do great work, but make sure you know how much to expect to pay.

Recent Review: Dakota Water Treatment is a family-owned business.  While researching water softeners, I called them, and Paul was very patient with answering many questions and providing a cost estimate over the phone.  He demonstrated detailed knowledge about the products he sells and installs, and he was not pushy at all.  Previously, we owned a Kinetico softener which had recently broken, and the sales staff from that company were very pushy.  We also felt that Dakota Water Treatment's prices were very fair after comparing them with both Culligan and Kinetico.  Finally, only Dakota Water Treatment offered a 5 year warranty that included 5 years of labor.  The competition only included one year of labor in their warranties. Paul came out and installed both a new water softener and whole house water filter in one afternoon.  He is very courteous and professional.  I highly recommend Dakota Water Treatment.
