Once I received the warranty replacement valve from Delta, I called to see if Zell (based on Angies's ratings/reports) would be interested in installing a valve they had not supplied. Amanda said sure and set me up with an appointment for Les (owner) to come out and take care of it. Les called me back that same day, and after I explained the situation, we arranged a service call a day later. Les arrived right on time, and did a wonderful job (even with me watching!). His years as a master plumber showed as he balanced torch, pliers, solder, and cooling rags to keep the copper stubs going into pex tubing from overheating. It was nice to watch a master at work, and all the time not missing a beat while we chatted about and solved most of the world's problems. It was a great experience; or at least 10x better than you'd think a plumbing experience would be.

I used Larry for the 2nd time in 2 years and once again I cannot be more pleased. Both times I was not present since this is a winter residence and what a great feeling knowing that Larry is a stand up trustworthy person. Thanks again and I highly recommend Larry the Plumber. Tim in MN

AJOYCE PLUMBING
In early evening, we encountered a shower valve that would not close and had to shut off our house main water supply. Rob Joyce arrived asap and replaced the valve in no time at all. The cost was exceptionally moderate, even more so, considering the hour and the inconvenience. I'm aware of other work he's done and the experience and results are similar to ours. He is very reliable, easy going and professional and we would call him in a second for any other work.

The plumber gave me the option of cutting out the wall to save me a little of his time and my money, which I appreciated. He was able to take of the job for a reasonable price.

I thought the service was excellent.  I was impressed with the punctuality and professionalism.   Ultimately, the work has held up, so coupled with the other points...  I'm very happy with the service.

WHILE HE CAME QUITE QUICKLY AND THE GUY WHO DID THE WORK (MATTHEW C. ) SEEMED NICE ENOUGH. I REALLY THINK THE CHARGES WERE EXCESSIVE AND THAT I WAS LIKELY OVERBILLED FOR THE WORK THEY DID. HE WAS THERE ONLY A COUPLE OF HOURS. I JUST FEEL UNEASY ABOUT THE EXPENSE FOR WHAT I NEEDED FIXED. ALSO, WHEN HE PUT THE SHOWER VALVE BACK ON HE MIXED UP THE DIRECTION OF THE HOT AND COLD WATER. I FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT, BUT HE SHOULD HAVE DONE IT CORRECTLY.

We were attempting to replace 30 year old shower valve gaskets and the valve broke off of the base due to water deposits. This happened on a Saturday. Other plumbers in the area were unavailable, including the one I normally use. This company came out in the early evening. The technician explained the cost, I said that seems high @ $2,400 just to replace a valve. He said he had to re-plumb the new one. Depending on what guess you pick for Angie's List service (no shower valve replacement), the absolute highest price is $1,700 to replumb a house. While the work was done very well, this company gouges customers - see other reviews. The Service Manager Doug is always "in a meeting" and never returns calls (tried 4 times). This is an unethical company that preys on desperate situations, in my experience. I will never use again.

AWeld & Sons Plumbing
This all started with a dripping shower head.  Needed to replace a couple springs and seats.  However the large brass nut was stuck due because it was 13 years old.  My wrenching on the nut bent the valve a bit.  After replacing the springs and seats and reassembly, the valve now leaked (and was still somewhat bent / twisted). Called Weld and Sons based on Angie's List reviews.  They were very courteous and professional.  Sent out Kevin the following morning.  He showed up EXACTLY on time.  He made sound recommendations, had all the parts and fixed it in a little over an hour.  We ended up having to replace the entire valve because there was danger of future leaking inside the wall.  The end price was well worth it for a professional job and piece of mind.

Recent Review: Overall, the experience was good. Since our drip/leak was slow and seemed to be related to our use of the shower, it wasn't an emergency, but we were still scheduled very quickly. The plumber was on time and we found him to be very pleasant and personable. We related what we had noticed happening. He took a look and we ran the hot and cold water with and without the shower. He offered two options based upon two theories. One option was to cut a hole in the wall adjoining the tub. The other was to replace the shower faucet valve(s). We opted for replacement of the shower valves and are glad we did. Valve replacement seems to have done the trick, since we've had no more leaking or dripping of the original leak. We needed to call back about a month later to have another leak checked since it seemed related to the valve replacement. Once again, we had prompt attention. It turned out that re-caulking of the plate around the new single handle did the trick for that leak. A-OK
