Recent Review: Excellent!!! I had a minor freeze last December in our Jacuzzi J-365 but was able to drain it and keep things warm for the rest of the winter. I opened it up this summer and repaired a leaky hose joint but still had an error code on the display. I had trouble with the local folks we bought it from. They were either not interested or very slow to respond. After 9 months I finally found Spa Squad via Angie's List. Jim asked about the failure and what the current error code was. He was here in maybe 3 days to replace the circulation pump which probably caused the initial failure. It's not easy because we had the deck built around our tub but Jim took it all in stride and had it running in less than an hour. We're excited to maybe be in it tonight!!!

Wildwood Electric Service
Recent Review: Ran the 220V for my hot tub. He was one of the recommended electricians by the hot tub store, and it really helped that he was used to coordinating with them. I got a quote from another well-rated electrician, it was $200 higher.

Recent Review: Rick and Steve were able to fit us in the same day I called. Our hot tub had not had power for a few days.  They quickly diagnosed and discovered it was the circuit breaker. They put everything back together on the hot tub and left it all clean. Very friendly guys willing to let me watch and ask questions. Very professional.  I will use them again for any hot tub needs.

CAL SPAS OF MINNESOTA
Recent Review: High pressure sales. Would not service my spa in time for winter and it froze up. Offered to help me file an insurance claim and told me to say it was due to an electrical storm so State Farm would pay the claim.

MN SPA TECH INC
Recent Review: JOHN CAME TO WINTERIZE OUR HOT TUB THE VERY NEXT DAY AFTER I CALLED HIM. HE EMPTIED THE WATER OUT OF THE TUB, BLEW OUT THE JETS AND PUT IN ANTI-FREEZE. HE WAS FRIENDLY AND WILLING TO EXPLAIN WHAT HE WAS DOING, AND DIDN'T MIND THAT I HUNG AROUND TO WATCH THE PROCESS. HE ALSO GAVE ME SOME TIPS ON HOW TO CLEAN THE CALCIUM BUILD UP WE HAVE ON THE TUB, AND TOLD ME WHAT TO DO IN THE SPRING TO RESTART THE TUB. HE WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND LESS EXPENSIVE THAN OTHER COMPANIES I CONTACTED.

Valley Pools & Spa
Recent Review: The overall sales experience went well with Valley. The delivery was smooth and installation went well. The only potential problem is with their repair service. I called them about a non-functioning ozonator (under warranty) and the service guy came to my house to replace it. While trying to replace the ozonator, he either broke or shorted out the main control panel. After spending some time talking to the manufacturer on his cell phone, he gave up and decided to order a new panel. his resulted in having to wait 1-2 weeks for the replacement part to come in. This was potentially a problem because the outside temperature was below freezing and frozen water lines are not covered by their warranty. Three different service guys later, they finally got it fixed. My impression was that the service guys are not very well trained to work on these hot tubs.

POOL & SPA CONCEPTS
Recent Review: PURCHASED HOT TUB WITH THE VERBAL PROMISE THAT IF WE CHANGED OUR MINDS IN THE FOLLOWING 3 DAYS, THAT WE COULD GET OUR MONEY BACK. AFTER FINDING OUT THAT THE PRICE WAS HIGH, AND THE FILTER WASN'T WHAT WE THOUGHT, WE DECIDED TO CANCEL OUR CONTRACT TWO DAYS LATER. COMPANY WOULD NOT REFUND OUR DEPOSIT, DENIED THAT THEY MADE THE PROMISE AND HAS NOT RETURNED ANY OF THE $3,800 BACK. COMPANY HAS LIED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS IN THIS FIGHT.

Spa Squad did a wonderful job of a thorough cleaning and refill of our hot tub. We had been busy with other priorities and the hot tub maintenance got away from us. By time Jim got done with it, our hot tub/spa was like new again. Jim is a pro. He knows hot tubs. We liked his work so much that we signed up now for his company to maintain our hot tub. Now we know our hot tub is good to go whenever we want to enjoy it. I recommend Jim and Spa Squad to any owner of a hot tub.

I sent a schedule request through the Angie's List system 3 days ago and Jim responded within 24 hrs.  Jeff came out to drain and winterize our hot tub today.  He extended the hose far enough out into the backyard for the water to flow away from the house as I had requested.  He was thorough in removing water from all of the inner plumbing and jets, he injected an anti-freeze solution into the lines, spent more time removing any remaining water with vacuum suction, and covered the hot tub with a large nylon tarp.  Being a new owner of a hot tub that came with our recent home purchase, I asked quite a few questions about hot tubs and Jeff was patient and knowledgeable in the care, maintenance, and usage of hot tubs.  I enjoyed learning about the hot tub industry and his expertise definitely showed.  I also think he did a good job winterizing our hot tub today as he seemed conscientious about what he was doing.  I would be happy to have Jeff return for future services such as spring start-up.

I bought the house with a broken hot tub and I have used McFarland hot tub 2 times now for fixing my hot tub parts. The first time, he had to undo some mistakes from a previous fix that someone else did and at the time he told me my heater was probably going to go within 6 months to a year and 6 months later it went. I like the fact that know so much about hot tubs and only fix what needs to be fixed. This time, he referred back to notes he had taken on the first trip and fixed some other problems with the heater wiring too. He was in and out within an hour which I thought was super quick but within the time he quoted. He told me 6 months ago that it would be $1000 and he was right on so it was nice to be able to plan for that money.

I use Spa Squad for everything I need with my hot tub, including winterization, spring opening, repairs and replacement parts. My hot tub is very old and has had some recent repairs needed, and Spa Squad took care of everything in a timely, responsive, and reasonably priced manner. They provide excellent, responsive service for everything I've needed. When they winterized the hot tub, they tarped it in a manner that ensured there wouldn't be any leakage. I recommended them to a neighbor who also used their services, and they loved them too.

Overall they are an experienced and knowledgeable company. After having used other spa repair companies in the past, they far exceed expectations. Joe was great! He knew the trouble I had with a previous company, came in and fixed my problem and also fixed other issues he saw that he felt he had to fix as well. Would recommend them to anyone that needs repair on their hot tub. Many other companies will come in and "fix" the issue and leave, only to have the problem not fixed. McFarland not only fixes the issue but will double check to make sure it's done properly

Spa Squad was great ? Our outdoor hot tub quit working during a cold snap in Minnesota in January.  I called Spa Squad and Jim told me what I needed to do to keep it warm until they could get there and even followed up to make sure we were able to get a heather in the panel.  When he showed up he was very nice and professional and fixed the problem the first time and followed up the next day to make sure everything was good. Will recommend and we will now always use this company for any spa needs!!

We were leery about the price of service - $148 for 1st hour and $48 per 1/2 hour after that plus parts. However, it was well worth it. Steve was very knowledgeable, gave options and great advice. We had purchased a used hot tub (Hot Springs 6 person spa) off the web. We had looked at it and were able to try it at the home we bought it at and were confident it was in good working order. Shortly after we got it up and running at home, we noticed the patio was always wet under the hot tub in one corner which over a few weeks spread to 2 full sides of the hot tub. We were unable to get the skirting off without wrecking it and could not access the underbody of the hot tub to even know where to begin. Steve was quite familiar with this brand and model and advised us it was most likely leaking from the Moto Massager Jet, and that this tub is solid foam underneath so the leak likely saturated the foam. He told us the areas that generally leak and what to look for as well as things we could try on our own, such as new seals. He carefully removed the skirting which was glued on - no screws, and carved out some foam to expose the jet plumbing which was leaking pretty good. He had the correct parts with him, replaced the joint, and glued it together. He carefully replaced the skirting with screws this time and advised us we may continue to see moisture for several days as the foam was likely saturated. The back corner is dry as a bone now, but still having a small leak at the front. He had advised that we fix the main leak and wait to see if there was still a problem before we tear into the rest of the skirting and foam. He will be coming out this next week to tackle the smaller leak. I have every confidence they will take care of us. Repeat visits for similar connected to 1st visit are billed at $48 per 1/2 hour. He also gave advice on chemical and filter maintenance which was greatly appreciated as new spa owners. He estimated the time to fix it at an hour and a half, it ended up being 2 hours which I fell was reasonable. Parts were reasonable. Thanks Steve!
