Recent Review: I called Sparrow Electric and got Jon Gross, the owner on the phone on the first try. He was very pleasant on the phone. I told him what I needed done, having 3 light fixtures replaced, and he identified that it was very unusual for 3 to go bad at one time, and suggested it may have been a power surge or lightning strike. Since I recently bought this house, there has been a mystery why most of the light bulbs in the house were burned out, in fact, I replaced 35 bulbs the 1st day we moved in. He felt strongly that a power surge might be the case. He had an opening in his schedule the next day and I grabbed it. He came out at the exact time promised, I showed him the scope of the job and he dug right in and did it. We did talk quite a bit while he was working (which I personally like, but I know some don't), and was very pleased to see that when the job was completed, his bill was the same price as quoted, $99 for 2 hours of work, and he was here about 3+ hours. He did look at my electrical panel and explained the benefits of a whole house surge protector, and had little trouble convincing me, after my unusual situation. Later I talked to some of my neighbors and confirmed that they had the same problem frequently, and in fact one neighbor had 2 trees hit by lighting in 2 different storms. Jon told me the surge protector he was going to install, and gave me the price. I asked if he minded if I shopped it on Amazon for a better price, and indeed I did find a MUCH better price, and he encouraged me to buy it, realizing he would lose his markup. Anyway...I received the protector yesterday, Friday, called Jon and he scheduled me for the following Wednesday morning to come out and do the work. I trusted him enough to find some additional work needed and will have him do that as well. I'm confident he will do a great job. Overall....I was very satisfied with Sparrow Electric, and obviously was happy enough to hire him again.
