We met up with Tom and Aaron to go over remodeling our kitchen. Initial impressions are very positive. Right off the bat, we could tell Tom knows what he is talking about. Prior to meeting PHB, we met with multiple contractors who identified a wall we wanted to remove as being load bearing. Tom immediately challenged that call and correctly called the wall out as being a partition. He proved it by getting up in the attic and recorded videos showing the orientation of the ceiling joists… he was right. Tom is very detailed oriented taking note of existing wiring, existing framing, and adjacent room dimensions. 1 hour into our meeting and we haven’t even discussed the proposed layout. Tom places a lot of emphasis into developing a solid game plan so when it comes time to execute the plan, there aren’t as many issues. Working in civil infrastructure construction, I can’t agree more. The next 2 hours of our meeting was going into what we had envisioned for the kitchen. Understanding that this is his bread and butter, we went into this meeting providing 50% input and expected him to collaborate and provide 50% back. He went a little further and helped us refine our initial idea into our dream kitchen. Tom is an honest man, painted a picture of what to expect, and has our vote of confidence thus far. We look forward to our next meeting with him to discuss final plans and specifications. Review to be updated as we progress through the procurement phase of our project.
