BROWN MASONRY
Recent Review: Someone drove through my block wall Christmas Eve - taking out two walls and a corner. The guys from BM showed up on time, did a good job, and cleaned up the site. I'd hire them again [although hopefully no one else drives through my wall...]

Recent Review: Living with an HOA, we were in need of having our wall attended to. I scoped out the neighborhood and found Daniel working.. I checked out his work and he told me that he had done a lot of the walls in our community. We hired Daniel to attend to both sides of our community wall, his work was superior .. it took several days.. to allow the concrete to set and paint.. Daniel then painted the walls and also filled dirt into the garden abutting the wall. SUPERIOR, SUPERIOR WORK!! We will gladly hire Daniel again if and when the time comes.

Noriega Masonry & Concrete
Recent Review: The weight of a large major limb that had grown over the years was resting on one side of a wall separating the front yard from the back yard.  The tree finally pushed the wall so far back that the arch over the gateway collapsed.  We needed to have the arch replaced and the wall repaired.  Eduardo came out to give us an estimate on the gate wall and, while he was there, I noticed that the outside wall along the side of the house was damaged.  Upon our request, Eduardo included the house wall in the estimate and we were happy with the price. Eduardo came out a day of two later to relaced the gate wall and arch.  He also brought out a crew to repair the house wall.  Even though the house is 35 years old, Eduardo was able to find blocks exactly matching the other side of the gate wall and the arch.  He did an excellent job.  The crew that did the wall repair on the house also did an excellent job, matching the stucco texture and paint perfectly.  We are extremely satisfied with all the work done by Noriega Masonry.

Recent Review: Estimate was written and appeared to be acceptable except for the amount of deposit required.  The total price was $1,053 and they wanted $608.deposit which did not make sense as the materials were only $163 and the labor was $890.  I was told to call the office and speak to them about my concerns.  I did so and it was agreed that no deposit was required up front, but I would have to pay the materials charge before work would begin and then the balance after the work was completed.  I agreed to this arrangement, set up the appointment and when they arrived, I wrote the first check.  There were 2 areas of the work which did not go as planned......Larry did not like the way the exterior stucco repair looked and I agreed that it was not what I had expected and the water line repair was much more difficult that Larry had thought it would be........he was a professional all the way and did not give up.  He worked and worked on the water line repair until he was satisfied that it was complete and did not leak.  He also came back very early the next morning with a different texturing tool for the exterior stucco and worked for over an hour until we were both satisfied with the finish.  Only then did he ask me to sign off on the job completion and write the final check which I did without hesitation.

I selected Brown Masonry because he is licensed and bonded. He missed starting the job twice and did not call to let me know. Then I found out he was giving the job to other laborers that had no license or bond, not even a business name. At that point I fired him. This wasted 2 weeks of my time and I had to start looking for someone again.
