TITAN STAIRS INC
Recent Review: The stairs really needed a lot of work after installation. The company was responsive in setting up appointments but not good at keeping up the information. We had at least 3 different workers coming to our house to look at the problems, and none of them were able to follow through with the issues. Finally, we got someone who might be a supervisor to come and look at the problems. The problems were fixed but could have been done better.

Recent Review: Rick was very professional, punctual and communicative on what needed to be done. He went above and beyond, not only on the quality of work but also from customer service standpoint. Not only would I use him again, I already am. I hired him to do another job even before this one was entirely complete. Having worked with other contractors in the past where I always felt I had to keep my guard up because I didn't feel like I could trust them completely, I never once felt that way with Rick. It was overall a very pleasant experience.

Recent Review: They have not quite finished the work yet, however they do beautiful work. They came out to put the railing together, then they took it back to the shop to refine it. They are supposed to be out to install the railing and then they will send out someone to refinish it. It is a big project. They are responsive. They came out to give me an estimate that same day that I called. Workers came out a few days later and got the project started.

Recent Review: I installed baby gates at the top and bottom of my staircase.  Unfortunately, all I have is dry wall and the baby gates had all but come out of the wall.  I also had a toilet paper roll holder that was pulling out of the wall for the same reason (and a toddler who exacerbated the problem).  Two gentlemen came and fixed the baby gates and toilet paper roll in less than an hour and a half.  They did an excellent job, and so far so good!  I told them the issue, and they worked diligently to make sure that the baby gates and toilet paper roll are secure and toddler-proof.  I am more than pleased and will call them for any and all future handyman needs!

Jacques the Cabinet Guy
Recent Review: Crown Moulding: Jacques brought the moulding 3 days prior to installation. This gave me ample time to paint it. He then installed it in 2 days. He had no problems during installation, even though the walls were not square and the corners were not 90 degrees. Kitchen Island: We had a small kitchen island covered by granite. We wanted a larger Island that we could sit at. Jacques reconfigured our existing island and built a pony wall to support the weight of the larger granite slab. He also recommended an installer for the granite which we used. All work was done quickly and according to the estimates provided. The reconfiguration looks great and matches the existing cabinetry. The kitchen is much more functional now due to the pullout shelves that Jacques installed. No more getting on hands and knees to get at a pot at the back of a cabinet. Staircase: Jacques installed a wooden staircase. The wood was prestained to match the hardwood floor. The work was done in 2 days. The stair case looks beautiful and the work done was excellent.

Recent Review: Warren is awesome. I have nothing but praise for him. He's a total professional and extremely skilled in what he does. He doesn't do anything halfway. I hired him recently to perform a number of tasks around a house I recently purchased, including building a closet into an upstairs bedroom that lacked one. I was very impressed at how meticulous he was in performing every aspect of the job. The closet he built was so well built that when it was finished it looked like it was a part of the original house! While he was building the closet he was constantly having to go up and down the stairs back and forth down to the garage to measure and cut things. That must have been exhausting for him, but he never complained and got the job done very quickly. He was also very conscientious about making sure he kept everything very clean while he worked, from putting towels on the floor to wipe his feet on each time he went in and out of the house to vacuuming up debris around his work area while he worked. I also had him change several exterior door locks. While he was changing the side door lock that leads from the backyard into the garage Warren had a great idea. He said if someone wanted to break into the house, most likely they'd try to break in through that door. His idea was to add a simple bracket on the interior side of the door that would enable me to place a wooden 2x4 across the door and door frame to provide extra security, preventing anyone from being able to force open the door from the outside even if they were to somehow defeat the deadbolt lock. It probably took him 10 minutes to install that and it works really great! I had him fix several other items around my new home, including tightening a loose stair railing upstairs, removing some large heavy window valences, and fixing a broken wooden strip on the exterior door frame that leads from the master bedroom to the second-story balcony. That wooden strip looked like it was there to provide weather protection and half of it was broken off. Warren said he'd never seen anything like that piece before and wasn't sure where he'd be able to find a replacement part, but he came back a couple of days later and fabricated a custom replacement part there on the spot. In the end, I was extremely happy with all of the work Warren did for me. He always showed up on time (if not early), worked very fast, and was extremely good at everything he did for me. He is a very honest man and provided me with all of the receipts for the materials he used. He only charged me only his hourly rate and didn't jack up the pricing on any of the materials he used. The price Warren charged me for all that work (building the closet, installing several exterior locks, removing the valences, fabricating that custom weather strip on the balcony door, etc.) came out to be about the same as I would have paid if I had gone to IKEA and bought one of their self-standing, non-assembled closet pieces. Instead of getting a cheap quality IKEA closet that I would have had to put together myself, for the same price, Warren built me a permanent built-in bedroom closet that looks like it's part of the original house, as well as doing all those other tasks! In my opinion, the quality of Warren's work is higher than the prices he charges. I told him he should raise his prices because the quality of his work is worth it, but I don't think he will. Warren is truly a gem and is someone I would highly recommend to anyone. He'll be my go-to guy anytime I need anything built or repaired around my home in the future!

Recent Review:    Jung showed up on time to give me a price estimate. His fee was reasonable to me and he said he could do the work that day. He made various trips to Home Depot to get supplies and to accuratley match paint color. He carried out the work in a neat and professional manner. Yes, this is his job, and yes he's getting paid but he genuinly seems to care and that it was a pleasure for him to help. I am a recently widowed mother with two young children, and it is so refreshing to be able to hire a handyman who is not going to take financial advantage of a woman alone.  He's friendly, efficient and even made time to pet my dog. Most importantly however I am very satisfied with the quality of his work and I will definitly hire him again.

Recent Review: Jeff returned my call quickly, stopped by to give me an estimate on the work the next day, and actually did the work three days later. Installing the blinds was a nightmare. The windows are 20 feet up, over a staircase, and the lack of privacy was just awful. Jeff climbed that ladder and had them installed perfectly in no time. I installed the under cabinet lights, but had all this extra wire taped to the bottom of the cabinets and it looked awful. Juan shortened the wires and neatly fastened them to the bottoms of the cabinets and they look great! I needed the drapery rod on my patio for privacy, but was afraid I'd ruin the patio cover if I tried to install it myself. Jeff and Juan did a great job putting up the rod exactly where I wanted it. Jeff even offered to hang my drapes, but I needed to wash them first. They were wonderful. I highly recommend them and will be calling them again soon for more projects around the house.

AJacques the Cabinet Guy
I chose Jacques based on the excellent reviews from previous customers. He and his wife came to meet me and my husband in the evening even looking tired after working all day at his current project. He was very busy during the Thanksgiving holidays but he said he might be able to do our project before Christmas. He emailed me pictures and quotes for different chair rails and mouldings to enable me to make a good decision to hire him or not. He even gave me his supplier's location, if I wanted to see a bigger selection. I thought that was very honest of him, knowing that the prices of his materials will be displayed there. Jacques finished our project before Christmas, arriving very early in the morning. He did a great job! His wife Line always made sure they kept their working area clean. They even put adhesive plastic covers on the carpet up the staircase, on the floor all the way to the bathroom (we have a tri-level home). Line had made these Christmas wine-bottle covers of Mr and Mrs Santa and gave them to us as a gift. I will be displaying those every Christmas. Thanks to Angie's list, I made an excellent choice!
