Recent Review: I have some mixed opinions on my first direct experience with CJ (well maintenance and water treatment). I decided to use them since the previous owner of my home had them install water treatment equipment, and I was familiar with the name and they had good reviews. I had 2 appointments for water treatment system maintenance and the well clean out. I made an appointment for water treatment at 2PM one day. Nobody mentioned anything about a 2 hour window when I made the appointment until I got an automated text message reminder the morning of. The tech ended up being over 2 hours late. He was a nice guy and went above and beyond answering many questions I asked him about the system. The most disappointing piece of it was cleanliness. It is unusual these days in my experience to have a contractor come to your house who doesn't put booties on. He also left a lot of water drops on my floor that evaporated and left iron stains all over. Lastly, he used a bucket I happened to have in my utility room and never cleaned it out. I found it by chance the next day. I had to spend 30 minutes of my time cleaning up after. As far as the well clean out goes, there were multiple issues. Again there was a indoor cleanliness issue. I had to spend 30-60 minutes of my time cleaning wood floors when they were done due to dirty footprints everywhere they walked. Booties would have prevented this. Upon arrival they started rattling off a litany of items that could end up costing extra above what I was quoted for the service - it could have easily been 2X what I was quoted. Maybe they should train office staff to communicate common issues that can come up to clients ahead of time to minimize surprises. Next, the guys did not strike me as being the most motivated individuals in the world. They had a stereotypical "union" mentality to how they went about their work. The work was done sufficiently, but I never felt like they cared much about what they were doing, cared about my property, or cared about the quality of their work. The well cap is in a mulched area on a slope and I expected some clean-up, but not near the clean-up that was required. If they are skilled at what they do, they should have foreseen what was going to happen and could have warned me. I literally had to spend 3 hours cleaning up my neighbors property and will likely have to invest $100 in grass seed and starter mulch. They could keep sandbags on the truck to manage runoff, or I could have found some salt bags in the basement or any multitude of things in my garage to help divert some runoff if I had been warned. No doubt the truck they use has equipment that costs money, but $1000 for 1.5 hours of lightly-skilled labor is a little steep, especially with all the clean-up required on my part (indoor and outdoor). I had a coupon for 25% off so it wasn't that bad, but if I had paid full price I would feel a little ripped off based on my experience. I will consider using CJ again but I will be keeping my options open and soliciting some more bids next time I have well work done.

Recent Review: Mr Cooper stopped by the house on time and patiently explained everything. I had a few questions and he was accurate and honest with his answers. He gave me options but, based on his opinion of what he thought our water usage would be, recommended the lower priced option for us. He also came thru with the quick installation he promised as well. Great experience and good prices. Very happy with their installer as well - very professional.

FKinetico Quality Water Systems
If I could give “0” stars, I would. These folks sold me a multi-thousand dollar system some years ago, and assured me that it would “last a lifetime”. First, it did not work as well as it should have to begin with, and then when it did not work, they sold me more stuff (chlorine pellet dropper with chlorine tank inside to take it out) which also did not work long term. This last week it stopped running altogether and then they made me wait to have them look at the system, because only they can look at it. They made my family wait all afternoon because they said they would be here between 1-5pm. They did not show up. At 5pm I called, and they were closed already. The next morning I called, and later in the day they said that the team who had come out had come to the wrong house. After all of this, when they finally go to my house, they made me pay them another $139 just to tell me that everything I had been sold was just junk, and tried to sell me on another multi thousand dollar system! They had sent direct to me a “get your system checked for $1 coupon” in the mail, and when I presented that to them, they said “that does not apply here, you still have to pay the $139 because that is only for sales! All of that to tell me what they sold me is junk now! I was previously told by their office when I first called that they had records of what I had purchased and that the “media” could be changed in my system - but when they came out, they said that the person who spoke with me from the office was incorrect and that my media could not be changed. I reminded them that I had been informed that the system was supposed to last “a lifetime”, and they responded (they actually said this to me), “back when you got your system, we had some people who did not tell the customers correct information”!!!!!!!!! Now, after all of this, you would think that they would offer some sort of alternative - like giving me a discount or working to get me a used system which would be longer lasting - but no - the only option was to start over from scratch and spend many thousands of dollars more. My anger is only diminished by the shame I feel at letting these weasels take advantage of me like this. I recommend that nobody get Kinetico systems. I recommend that anyone considering Kinetico systems simply go to another alternative - there are many around. Any of the alternative companies will be better and more truthful in the long run. Do not be fooled by the line that if it is more expensive, it must be the best. Hogwash. I am the prime example of how Kinetico does not take care of their customers. Feel free to contact me if you need further information. I have been in my own business for many years, and this is no way to treat customers.

Only glitch was the technician did not have one part for the water softening system and needed to return to complete the installation. It did not cause any problems for me.
