Recent Review: At the beginning of 2010, I decided to update my kitchen and make it more functional. I needed a contractor to install additional cabinets to match existing ones, crown molding, countertops, sink, faucet, dishwasher, over-the-stove microwave and shelving brackets, all of which I selected and would be purchasing. Of the contractors I interviewed, Marc Devine of Hoosier Handyman impressed me the most. He arrived on time, was polite, and wore shoe protectors to not track snow in my home. His bid was competitive and once we started the project, he made suggestions that enhanced the project. A creative fix was to use a "L" base cabinet that I wanted removed and resize into a smaller cabinet to install in another location. Leftover material was used to close the gap between my stove and base cabinets, which you wouldn't notice unless I pointed it out. I like that he takes a green approach and doesn't waste materials. The electrician he brought in for the dishwasher and microwave installation also impressed me. The appliances arrived on the day the project began, everything went like clockwork, and the project was done in a few days. I do my own painting, and Marc made the drywall smooth and ready to prime. His attention to detail and neatness also played a part in this positive experience. I plan to use Hoosier Handyman for future projects and highly recommend this company.
