Recent Review: Great! Everything was done on time and done very well.  There were some other things we had questions about and he would say he's not an expert in those areas and refer us to another company. We really appreciated that he didn't feign expertise in an area that was not his.

Recent Review: Overall the work was very good, only thing that bothered me was that one of the two workers would disappear for a few hours each day to go do other jobs. As job took three days, they may have been able to finish in two days had the time they spent at the other jobs been spent on ours, but I would use them again.

Recent Review: Everything went great. Cameron was great on the front end and Casey was a great on-site manager. All their employees and sub-contractors did a great job and were very respectful of our time and our home. Everyone at Capmire was aware of my anal side and did their best to educate me on the work they were doing and do the job right, several times redoing tasks to keep us satisfied. Time permitting, I hope to expound upon the services performed and on how well the job went. If I don't get around to that I will certainly make myself available as a reference. And I will absolutely have Capmire bid on my next home improvement project.  I can't say enough about these guys.

Recent Review: We were very happy with the personnel, their work ethic and the quality and cost of their work. Both Sammy and Nelson were very good at answering our questions when issues arose requiring some adjustment to the timing of various phases of the project. We had a couple of issues with suppliers [wood floors in particular] who took about two extra weeks to provide the material but Sammy and Nelson were able to work around the issue and keep the project moving ahead. We also ran into an issue with satin versus flat latex paint in the family room which was solved with a single phone call. Their various crews dealing with sheetrock repair, painting, hardwood flooring, carpentry, electrical work and carpet installation were all hard working and very good at their craft. It is obvious that these teams have been working together well, and all have their 10,000 hours in, as nothing fazed them during the refurbishment. We will happily contact The Peraltas in the future as work on the house continues.... Note that the approximate cost below does not include material costs for carpet, underpad and hardwood flooring all of which was supplied by us. A few pics attached...

Leo and his team were lifesavers.  During my condo renovations we discovered that the 3 small glass block windows in the bedroom were installed completely wrong and were causing rainwater to enter through the wall--and resulting in a whole host of other problems.  I was in a bit of a time crunch because my contractor was waiting on the windows to complete the interior work on the wall.  So, to make it easier (or so I thought), I bought some pre-formed glass block masonry windows from home depot that could be installed directly into the brick wall using mortar instead of having to build a wooden frame.  These windows are usually installed in basements, so the masonry companies I first called to take a look did not seem familiar with them at all.  On top of that, they were not really able to explain how they would be installed, could not give me any idea about when the work could be scheduled, and wanted to charge at least double what Leo ultimately charged.  Leo was completely the opposite.  First, he came out the morning following our phone conversation and said that he would be able complete the work that day. THE SAME DAY!  He was very friendly and professional, completely understood my problem and knew exactly what was needed, and he had no issues with the type of window I had purchased.  Shortly thereafter, Leo's son performed the work with his team.  They worked diligently until the work was complete.  Leo came back out to inspect the work with me.  In the end, the wall and the windows looked great and they were even able to fill a crack on another part of the wall for just $25 more.  I was very pleased with the work and it was very easy to work with Leo.  I would highly recommend him.

A contacted three stone contractors and got quotes from each. Leo was the lowest bid. He came out on the scheduled date with his sons and went right to work. The removal of the brick structure and its foundation was a lot of work but they finished up the same day then proceeded with the brick wall repairs. All together it was about 7 hours of work. They did a great job.

Gary was very professional, he worked hard, and the results are excellent.  He is very organized and detailed so it was easy for my husband and I to go through the huge list of tasks and evaluate what we wanted done.  He was up-front about what needed more work and what he was capable of doing - some things he saw (roof repair, window damage) he let me know needed repair soon even though he was not able to do the repair himself.  I would highly recommend Gary to anyone with a list of house repairs / upgrades and we will definitely use him in the future.

DJQ Brick Repair & Restoration Services LLC
1) Instead of properly repointing the brickwork on my house as stated in the quote, the workers with JQ Brick just filled in large cracks between bricks with mortar and then painted the mortar to make it *look* like it had been repointed. The paint obviously doesn't last as it rubs off on your fingers just by brushing against it. I was shocked at the ridiculous results. The quote specifically stated they would repoint the brick and they did not do anything of the such. 2) The garage wall that was rebuilt using two different colors of mortar. On the first day, the first half of the garage wall was rebuilt with one mortar color. The next day the rest of the garage wall was build ... with a distinctly different shade of mortar color. They installed all new mortar, but they used *two* different colors of mortar half way through the job. A light color mortar was used on the top half and a darker color mortar on the bottom half.  3) On the garage wall, there were two window sills that were rebuilt with that same wall and would you guess that they were the same? Nope. The lower window sill just out a full 1-2 inches further than the upper window sill.  4) The sides of the wall? Did they match? Not at all. There are two wings on the top corners of the wall. These wings are very simple graduated step edges and they were to match the exact same corner mirrored on the back wall. Each brick is supposed to overhang the brick below in an even constant offset just like the original wall, just like the rear garage wall that was not being rebuilt. Not only did the stepped wings on the rebuilt wall not match the original rear wall, but the two stepped wings on rebuilt front wall didn't match either. The left top corner stepped wing doesn't even match the opposing stepped wing on the right top corner. They built two stepped wings on the same wall and didn't bother to make them match. I couldn't believe the sloppy workmanship. 5) When I pointed out these very obvious flaws to the owner, Jose Quintero, he defended his guys for several days. It was really uncomfortable and awkward. He was very argumentative about it all and constantly claimed that I was just being picky and difficult. I refused to pay the balance remaining of over $2,000 until the problems were rectified. He went through various phases of anger with me. In the end I had to ask him straight out if he was proud enough of his work at my house to bring prospective customers to show them his "quality" workmanship. To that question he *finally* admitted that he would never want to show his work at my house to any prospective customers. He finally admitted that the work was absolutely not representative of a job well done. It was clearly not a job to be proud of. He admitted that they installed two very different mortar colors on the rebuilt wall. He admitted that the stepped wing on the top left didn't match the stepped wing on the top right let alone the original stepped wings on the rear wall. He finally agreed to take half off the balance because of all the errors in workmanship. These problems are indicative of work farmed out to poorly supervised cheap hourly labor. If anyone would like to view the work left by JQ Brick, feel free to drop by and I would be happy to help you avoid the same problems. I've slowly been having the work done by JQ Brick ripped out and rebuilt properly by master bricklayers. However, there are still some areas left to fix, so there are still some clear examples of the poor workmanship that I am still working to replace by proper repointing work.

FGUERRERO O CONSTRUCTION LLC
Do not hire this company - save yourself the trouble of a potential lawsuit against a bad contractor with illegal practices. O. Guerro Construction, LLC  team began working on my home with a qualified and licensed crew to  tear out the walls, floors, roofing materials ect. Once done, the crew disappereared for a couple weeks with no call / no show status or with various excuses.  It turns out that the owner (who was present to give the initial quote and start order) took the first payment to get materials and later we learned that the crew left our home to work on other jobs. This company's professional scam is to start the contracted work immediately to get the business, then leave the customer in a desperate situation with their home in an exposed uninhabitable state of repair, while they keep asking for more money claiming to have under estimated the project materials. My family couldn't use the kitchen or bathrooms while this went on for several weeks. Next, the owner wouldn't return calls and sent over an illegal crew of day laborers whom drank beer on the job site, dropped paint on new furniture and painted the house incorrectly. Ultimately, the contractor did a horible job, and had the audacity to put a lien against my home for payment related to work he had not completed. Once the work was completed, the owner (Oscar Guerrero) was paid in full and released the property lien BUT REFUSED to issue the final invoice detailing his fees for my roof and fence replacement work completed. It became a problem with my insurance company as they constantly requested the final invoice which 3 years later he STILL refuses to provide. This company's has given multiple differnt business adresses, some are no longer current.  Here are 3 address I was given via the owner's correspondence: Address 1:O. Guerrero Construction, LLC4101 San Jacinto St, Ste 223Houston TX 77004ph 281-960-6729 (no longer the business number for O. Guerrero Construction LLC) Address 2:O. Guerrero Construction, LLC5555 W. Loop South, Ste 300Bellaire TX 77401 (Business address listed envelopes containing invoices with the 1st address listed) Address 3:19635 River Bottom StreetKaty TX 77449 (address on correspondence recieved from O. Guerrero Construction LLC staff)Ph: 281-960-6729 (cell number on owner's business card - which he only answers to received new jobs but once you're a customer he disappears - you may only leave messages that go unanswered) This contractor gets an "F" for customer service, job performance, and warranty of work. My roof replacement work has to be re-done only 3 years later.
