We wanted to turn an existing porch into a 4th bedroom for our new baby's arrival. PPS made our dream come true! We now have a beautiful bedroom with 7 bright windows, fully insulated, electrical, and built in closet for our twins. This job was completed in less than 2 months! PPS showed up, worked long hard hours, and got the project completed! We also had a flat roof that was pooling water during these wet stormy months. PPS came out and in 2 days made a whole new roof that is perfect! No more flooding issues! Lastly, we needed some more light in our dark old garage. We asked PPS to come out and help us with this situation and they made our garage so much brighter! We can now see everything in there and it is no longer a hazard to walk to our cars.

I met with the owner(Tony) back in October (2011). I was first impressed by his professionalism as he called to confirm our appointment and then to show up (most contractors we called where late or didn't even show up at all). He gave us a real education about our Kitchen and room addition.  He made us think of things we had not really considered. We had gotten estimates (finally) from 2 other contractors.  Of all the estimates we had obtained, Tony's was not the lowest, nor the highest, but hedged on the high side for our remodel.  We paid a bit more in the end, but let me tell you that it was well worth it.  He made our remodel as painless as possible.  My husband and I work all the time, but we could always depend on an email from Tony at the end of our evening explaining what had been accomplished that day, decisions we need to make, and the job progress.  We would gather our thoughts and send a reply, but you can bet he was on it the next morning.  My grandmother lives with us and was present all day long during construction.  She was so alive during this process that she insisted on baking his crews chocolate chip cookies on a daily basis.  He and his crew was not only good with our remodel and working on our home, but IN our home.  Tony is rather matter-of-fact, and tells it like it is.  My husband and I agree that he is truly a contractor with real morals.  He never took money from us upfront, and allowed us to pay as certain parts of the project were complete AND to our satisfaction. Basically, he took time with us, taught us, and went out of his way to do the right thing.  HE will work at our home again! Should we say something negative to be fair to those that read this?  Remodeling our home was expensive, noisey and at times made me frustrated.  However, I am proud of the outcome.  So....in the end I really have nothing negative to say about Tony or His Company.  They did an outstanding job from start to finish.  I will concede that they messed up a bit of yard, with the trailers and trucks that were coming in to deliver material, or the workers who came here.......but even then....he came to me first and admitted the error, and promptly fixed it. I just think they are awesome.  They treated our remodel as a process, and not just an event...in other words they took the time to be responsive to our wants and needs....and most of all took the time to be a part of our "family"

I have used Ray and Legacy now on 3 of my homes.  We have moved throughout NC and several occasions and Ray comes and fixes it for us.  In this last project we didnt know what we had on our hands but it onlt took a phone call to them and they came out and met with us.  Ray feels like part of the family so we trusted his advice.  We were a little shocked by the price and had to carefully weigh the pro's and con's.  We knew it was alot of work but we felt we had the best contractor in town, so we decided to hire them to handle everything for us.  The experience was long (but in the allotted timeframe), but the work was great and we are both very pleased with everything.  There was a minor issue with a few doors after the remodel but it just took a phone call and everything was made right.  Im happy to be able to recommend these guys and look forward to working with them again in the future when things come up

We called Legacy once again after using them in the past.  What great people they are.  We met and covered all the details, and they even offered us advice on how to do a few things we had not thought of and how to do them more economically.  That's what we have always liked about these folks.  They didn't try to sell us on anything.....they educated us and never made us feel like we were dumb.   Even though they had done a great job for us in the past, we did shop around a little and got a few other estimates just to be sure we were going to get what we paid for.  Most of the contractors we called never called us back, and those that did call back could never seem to keep the appointment.  So, in the end we settled (once again) on Legacy.  I can honestly say that the professionalism, honesty, and care they took with our home was first rate. We knew the job we wanted done would not be easy from a structural point of view, but after much research and input Legacy came up with a plan that not only worked, but is stunning.  The views they created for us is breathtaking.  The attention to every design detail was impeccable and the folks that worked on our job are simply artists.   We are honored to write a review for Legacy.  We will call them time and again as our needs change.

He put a new bathroom in our house last summer and did great job so we hired him to build a room addition. The job started in July. It is now the end of November and we have gone for weeks/months  with nothing being done. Ray/Tony Hubbard does not return calls. We have paid him $60,000 and so far have seen only the bare bones of a room.  We have since found out that he goes by many different names, and his company names also keep changing. Do not use Ray/Tony/Gusto Hubbard or as he is also known, Ray Reagan.

ACustom Electric & Plumbing Inc
We were and still are very happy with the work Custom Electric of NC did in our Sum Room addition and Kitchen renovation last Fall.  We added multiple lighting fixtures in the kitchen including recessed. pendant, and under the cabinet lights which made it a more enjoyable living area. The winter that followed was quite severe with several storms during which we lost electrical power. Fortunately, we had a generator and Custom Electric designed and installed a new generator panel with the electrical circuits we wanted for emergency use.  Thus, when we lost power, the generator allowed us keep our central  gas furnace, our refrigerator, freezer, and several appliances such as the coffee maker, toaster oven and microwave functioning.  While many Greensboro homes were cold and dark, we stayed warm and comfortable. The generator and the generator setup and panel that Custom Electric installed proved to be a godsend.   We would highly recommend Custom Electric for any electrical work.  Pat and Bill Schwartz.

ASherrill Davis Construction
We moved into a 60 year old home and the kitchen was small and outdated, but was adjacent to a smallish and rarely used den, both of which opened into a family room addition. We knew from when we bought that we wanted to take out some walls and make a big kitchen that flowed directly into the addition, and along the way, we were going to steal a little space from the den to slightly enlarge the 6x6 pink tile master bath.  We got several estimates, and not only did Sherrill Davis quote us the same (or maybe less) to do both the kitchen and the bath than some others quoted us for the kitchen alone, he also took measurements and drew up a layout for the new kitchen on spec. We already had a general idea of what we wanted, but several of his ideas and adjustments were better than what we would have come up with on our own, and the other contractors weren't nearly as forthcoming with ideas.  Sherrill, Ian and their crew knocked out walls, opened up some pretty scary stuff in the walls (improperly installed headers, tricky wiring, weird plumbing decisions, etc.), and rolled with our tweaks and suggestions with ease. They didn't bristle when we wanted to get actively involved or when we changed our minds on the design. They worked with the fact that NOTHING in our house was square or flush before they started and made necessary adjustments to make sure that our new rooms feel like a seamless part of our house while also being far more useful and very attractive to boot. Our kitchen and bathroom are beautiful: worlds ahead of what we had, and we get compliments on both constantly.  In the interest of full disclosure, I should mention that they are a somewhat small outfit, so the job did take a while. Longer than we had hoped, in fact. However, the savings, the attention to detail, and the level of care helped make up for the long timeline. For example, since we have small children, they were very conscious about ensuring that we had access to a stove and washer/dryer for as much of the project as possible. Even with full scale demolition in the kitchen, I think we were MAYBE without a stove for a day or two, total, and I don't know if we ever had trouble getting to our washer and dryer (which have to be accessed through the kitchen). They helped us turn our dining room into a makeshift kitchen, moving the refrigerator in and such.  The work wrapped last July, and even as recently as yesterday, they were willing to come out and make minor repairs to some cabinet drawers that had been giving us trouble.

AAmbassador Construction
I had received several quotes on this job.  I wanted to keep my turned posts and decorative corners on the top of the posts (see pictures).  Many of the contractors I spoke with told me this could not be done. They indicated this would have to be torn out and replaced with square posts.  They also indicated I would have to remove the decorative post tops, which I didn't want either. Justin came out and listened to my requests.  Based on this information, he worked to create exactly what I wanted.  I was able to keep my decorative posts and have a beautiful outside space to enjoy.  I selected the darker screen (Charcoal) so it does a nice job of shading the porch from the sun, helping to keep it cooler in the summer.  From the inside, it looks the same, you can see out very well, from the outside, it appears much darker, this is a benefit to me because you can see out, but others can't see in as well.  You can get the screen in a lighter color if you so desire.  I also had a "test" of the screen on the first day.  My 11 pound cat decided to "climb" up the screen to the top and I was thinking to myself, "there goes that screen", but there is not a visible mark left on the screen. Although cost is important when deciding who you should hire to do a job, cost is not the only factor.  I could tell when I met Justin that he was knowledgeable about his work, from designing the plan through completion.   Justin did an excellent job screening in the porch.  He framed in the doors (even though the area was not flush), and installed lattice along the bottom with screen behind it, he carefully attached the screen, then put more wood over the frame where the screen was attached.  He stained the wood both prior to installation and then again afterwards.  You can't tell the difference where the new wood was added and it looks like the screened porch is original to the house.  He mitered the edges of the wood, which added a professional touch to this job and it looks very good.  He also had to remove one of the gutters and cut off a couple of inches so that would continue to work as intended.  I have not had time to decorate yet, but plan to add some new outdoor furniture elements in the future.  It's like having a new room addition since I now have this beautiful outside space to enjoy. I'm on disability and I'm on a fixed income, and Justin worked with me to save money and made recommendations to reduce costs without sacrificing quality.  Justin has a large variety of carpentry skills and many other remodeling skills (see his bio for more information).  I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants to have quality work done for a very good price. I am sitting on my porch now, writing this review and enjoying the quality of the workmanship and the beautiful outdoor weather without the mosquitos! I should also mention that the screen helps to keep debris from blowing in during a storm so it helps keep the area clean as well!  If you select him to help you with your job, you will not be disappointed.  One thing you should keep in mind however, if someone does a very good job, they are in demand. I waited for him to finish a couple of jobs he was working on at the time and it was really worth the wait!
