AHandyman Connection - Metroplex
First appt was rescheduled, but second one went off with out a hitch, he even showed up a little early. The door was removed, the replacement one installed, various difficulties were overcome and the job was well done. Jeff Smith, the handyman who did the work, was courteous, professional and did a great job. Took about 2.5 hours. We were very satisfied.

I researched then called three companies to get a quote to fix a broken pocket door in our guest room. Our home is approximately 60 years old and this was the original door that simply quit working... One company's quote was extremely high (over the phone), another company returned my call a week later, and this company returned my call immediately. The owner came to my home and assessed the problem and gave an estimate with regard to time and cost. The owner and his son work as a team. Their work was excellent and I would highly recommend them. I have hired them to renovate my bathroom as well as replace the facing on cabinet doors and drawers in two other bathrooms in my house. Their pricing is fair (not cheap) but they are professional and they perform quality work.

CThe Personal Touch Cont
We purchased the "$250 for Four Hours of Handyman Service" on August 12 and scheduled an appointment for August 26 at 11:30 a.m.  Around noon, when the handyman failed to show up, I called him and learned that he was working at a home that was to go on the market the next day, that he had forgotten to call me, and that he would not be able to make it to my house that day. Luckily I had scheduled some other work for that day, so I didn't completely waste a day off from work. We rescheduled for September 16 at 10:00 a.m., which was the next day I could fit into my schedule. We sent an email the night before to confirm the time, to which he responded, "confirm." He called at 9:03 a.m. the morning of September 16 to let me know that he would be late due to traffic. He arrived at about 11:15 a.m. and I showed him the top 4 items on our prioritized list: a leaky faucet on one sink, a faulty shut-off valve on another sink, an electric outlet that wasn't working properly, and the pocket door that was sticking. He determined that the copper plumbing under the sinks would need to be replaced. We agreed to replace the plumbing under four sinks and scheduled the plumbing subcontractor for the following Friday at noon. The handyman quickly fixed the electric outlet, then set to work on the pocket door, where he spent the rest of his time. He was able to repair the pocket door so that it works much better than it did. It still rubs/sticks a bit, most likely due to the age of the door and the pocket that the door slides into. He cleaned up everything before he left. I took more time off from work the following Friday to wait for the plumbing subcontractor to arrive at noon. The plumber finally arrived on Friday at about 2:00 p.m. He inspected the plumbing and informed us that there was no need to replace all the pipes. It would cost us a substantial amount of money when all that needed to be done was to turn the water off at the street and replace the gaskets and seals. The plumber called the handyman to inform him of the situation, then left. In summary, we paid $250 to repair a pocket door and an electrical outlet. The handyman was very nice and personable, and we are happy with those repairs that were made, but the wasted time and missed appointments makes me hesitant to rehire this company for future service. And we still can't use the sinks, which was our number one priority in hiring a handyman in the first place.

FExclusive Painting & Remodeling
Pedro was hired for bathroom tile install, door repair, ceiling repair, and painting. The overall look of the bathroom tile is good, but many pieces are uneven and poorly placed giving it a ragged and sloppy look. He stated he would fix this. When the tub spout was reattached it was not flush to the wall. There was a very large gap that he covered with white silicone. When questioned about the possibility of water getting behind the tiles, he stated it was all he could do. I paid a lot of money to install the bathroom tile, and he thinks an inch wide filled with silicone will prevent water damage. He was also hired to repair a pocket door. It was not done adequately and the door fell off the track immediately. He also repaired a ceiling from previous water damage, but failed to reinstall the smoke alarm and complete cleaning of the ceiling water stains as agreed. He stated that he would return to complete the job. I called him several times and left multiple text messages with no response. He finally texts back stating he had phone issues and would return to complete the job. He did not respond to my follow up text. It was disappointing. I trusted him to complete the job as agreed, but once he had the money he disappeared. I would not recommend. Do not be fooled by him.

FFLOORS AND DOORS
The week of 11/15/10 I contacted Floors and Doors and requested an estimate on the installation of three pocket doors. The person I spoke with tentatively scheduled an appointment on Friday, 11/19/10; however, they told me they had an appointment in Plano and may have to reschedule. I was okay with that and expected that if they were unable to come that they would call and reschedule. Unfortunately, they didn't show-up, didn't call, and never resceduled. After waiting a week to be contacted I decided to look for another company. No one likes their time wasted, but I was fortunate that this company showed me how they operate BEFORE I wasted my money!

AArtisans Home Repair LLC
Justin, the Artisan's contractor sent to the job, was prompt, knowledgeable and professional. He did excellent work and was a pleasure to deal with. The price paid Artisan's was for labor and minimal materials. We had purchased the replacement door separately. The labor cost was a little more than I wanted to pay, but the work was perfect. I would definitely use Artisan's and Justin again.

ARichardson Door & Weatherstrip Inc
The entire experience from setting the appointment to technician arrival, price quote, actual repair and installation through to the follow-up was professionally handled. Everyone with whom I interacted was pleasant, and knowledgeable. The technician arrived on time, got to work and then walked through the finished project with me to make sure I was satisfied. Just a tremendous experience and a good value.

ATolbert's Handyman Solutions
They showed up on time, good communication, and they quickly removed the old door, replaced with the new door, which they picked up and brought from Home Depot.  Was the exact door we'd discused prior to the day of work. They completely replaced door, insulated the gaps with foam, then replaced internal and external casings. Very good work, very detail-oriented on the finishing trims.  Completely satisfied with the work.

AEntry Door Co
Rick arrived on time for the estimate. He performed the work as stated. I had another handyman service out to complete the job, but they were not able to provide what I asked for-they kept talking about how difficult it is to install doors. Rick is a perfectionist and did a great job. He understood what I was asking for (no more gold or mirrors) and it looks wonderful.

Business Description: Let me start off saying this. 99% of my business comes from new home construction. Builders are my main priority. If you call or email me and I do not respond within 24 hours then I am too busy to help you. I'm sorry if it sounds rude but I am unable to help everyone and everyone takes it too personal when I don't drop what I am doing and call/email them back which results in negative reviews on my account. My goal is to fix any problem you may have with your door or window. If you have a door that leaks water or whistles or if you can see daylight between it and the door jamb, I can help. I can also eliminate any draft that may come through. I have a cost-effective easy solution 99.9% of the time. I want to properly weather-strip your doors to save you money on energy costs and to make the overall appearance of your door to look more appealing. I take great pride in resolving any problems that a customer may have with a door. Repair water and air leaks around doors. Threshold replacement Door sweep replacement Door weather-stripping replacement Door hardware installation Threshold caps Seal off media room doors I want to properly weather-strip your doors to save you money on energy costs, eliminate drafts and to make the overall appearance of your door to look more appealing. I solve problems. If you have a door that whistles when the wind blows, you feel air when you walk by a door or water comes into the house around a door, I WILL fix it. I offer many different weather-stripping options to choose from. You can choose between gold, chrome, or oil-rubbed bronze (black) thresholds. The black threshold is the newest and hottest style going. Black thresholds look great and match any style door hardware. This allows every home owner to have a threshold that matches the door hardware on the door and make any door entrance look great. Having a threshold that matches the door hardware gives an exceptionally appealing entry way into the home. There are two types of door thresholds, custom and pre-fab. The pre-fab comes attached to the door jamb when the door is installed. The custom threshold is a threshold that is installed later in the building process. Both styles can fade over time and look unpleasant. Each threshold needs to be caulked thoroughly to prevent moisture from coming inside of the house. This moisture can cause puddles of water in the house when it rains or can cause the paint on the molding around a door to fade or chip away. A door threshold MUST be caulked properly. In addition to the threshold, there is the door sweep and the door weather-stripping around the door. The door sweep can come loose or tear and when this happens the sweep does not make good contact with the threshold and this will allow air, water, and bugs into the home. This is often the easiest to fix. The weather-stripping around the door comes two ways, metal or compression. The metal can be pinched or torn or just be tacky looking. Regardless of which one you have, it must do its job when the door is closed. That job is to prevent anything from coming inside the house when the door is closed. If you can see light around the door then you have a problem. Compression or rubber weather-strip slides into a grove on the door jamb. This can tear or after the home settles the door may not make contact with the compression. There are some easy options to resolve this issue. No matter what you want me to do, whether to fix a problem or make your entry way look better I can do it. We can figure out a solution for you.
