Recent Review: From a customer service standpoint, working with Sonny and the Atlas Plumbing company was a pleasure. They were courteous, professional, and most importantly quick (crucial during our short active option period). Most companies seemed hesitant to come out and provide a quote on a prospective house based off of the recommendations of our inspection report, but Sonny was knowledgeable, flexible with our schedule, arrived promptly and worked efficiently. While I did not personally meet him, our real estate agent was pleased with his professionalism. Sonny was upfront that the quote was not free and gave an estimate of how much it would be ($49.50 service fee + $38.00 per quarter hour) and repeatedly made sure we understood the pricing system (which I appreciated and expected based on reviews). He also let us know that despite our inspection report, we did not need a dielectric union placed on our water heater, so we appreciate his integrity and not making needless repairs. His initial price estimate to come out and quote us on our repair estimate was $201.50 but in actuality came out to be $163.50 (which they would refund if we decided to go ahead with the work). Upon inspection, Sonny's estimate covered repair of two gas leaks ($249.65), replacing garbage disposal ($352.26), reconnecting 3 drain stoppers and tightening 2 faucets ($152.00), a total of $753.91 (or $590.41 after $163.50 refund). The seller's of the home decided to get their own estimate done from another popular A reviewed plumbing company on Angie's List. This company diagnosed the kitchen sink leak problem as not caused by the garbage disposal (apparently it was less than 5 years old) but from the cold water shut-off valve directly behind the disposal. The seller's declined our offer of contracting Atlas Plumbing to do the repairs and went with their chosen company which ended up being about $250 cheaper. I cannot comment on the quality of Atlas Plumbing's work since they did not do any repairs, nor comment on/compare whether the other plumbing company's repairs were done correctly since we have yet to move in or have our inspector evaluate the work (they did however offer a parts warranty and satisfaction warranty if the repairs are not to our liking when we move in). I am not a certified plumber so I have no idea what actually was causing the kitchen sink leak but to be honest we felt a little embarrassed when they disputed Atlas plumbing's diagnosis and was able to get the repairs done for cheaper (and for that I had to give a "Fair/C" rating for the quality of the inspection and estimate provided). Price wise they seem slightly more expensive then the flat rate companies but can see how it'd be worth the peace of mind if the quality of their work matches the honesty and integrity I experienced. Unfortunately for us we probably will not be using them again if all is fine with the repairs made since we ended up just spending $163 for what ended up being a useless estimate for us.
