RESCUE GARDENER
Recent Review: I wanted to talk with her about one of the shrubs I paid $150 for and I can't reach her. She transplanted some plants and I had questions about watering. I wanted to keep them healthy and had questions about some of the signs the plants were exhibiting (like brown leaves etc). She claims to be a master gardener. She may be a master gardener but I find her totally irresponsible. If you agree to do a job you should keep your word about what you say you are going to do. She said three times that she'd be out and she's never come out.

Landscape Geek
Recent Review: After interviewing 6 other landscapers, it wasn't hard to discover that Christopher's company name "Landscape Geek" was not just the name of his company.  This guy really is a landscape geek!  We had 5 different projects in mind and we gave the same job description to all 6 other companies.  Most of them would have done exactly what we asked for, but we were looking for ideas.  Then Chris came along and bubbled forth with so many wonderful ideas of what could be done with what we had and how it would look, we were amazed.  You can tell that Chris's job is his life passion.  The guy knows the name of every plant, shrub and tree on our property.  He knows how to take care of them and made all kinds of suggestions on how to improve their health.  He even gave lavish compliments about what we were doing right. We decided to give Chris and his crew a chance to work on the first 2 of our 5 projects.  Simply amazing.  Not just simply laying cut stone, but they did it right by pouring a cement foundation first.  They came back 2 days later to lay the stone and it was absolutely better than we could have ever imagined.  They even took the time to make the stone boarder work well with the existing slope and drainage of our yard.  We didn't even think of about the need for that but he did!  We can't wait for him to start on the next 3 projects.  Having a guy like Chris come out and give us all these great ideas of what we could do with our yard, really makes us feel confident that we chose the right company.  He even took us for a ride in our own neighborhood, showing us different ideas from other properties that he didn't have anything to do with.  He took the time with us, and we are grateful that he is the master gardener that he is.  He really is a Landscape Geek.,

After confirming they would do the lawn on the side of our house behind the fence, they failed to do so saying that is not part of our yard. In addition, their aeration was not done in a systematic way. Parts of our lawn were highly aerated, while some parts had no aeration at all. My husband is a Master Gardener and always keep his lawn in tip top condition with very few, if any weeds. After Xtreme Lawn completed the aeration, within weeks weeds were covering our lawn. We assume they did a lawn prior to us and did not sterilize their blades. We are still fighting to rid our lawn of the weeds.

CHeritage Landscape Dallas LLC
Robert Taylor, a master gardener, very professional and educated in landscaping, met with me Nov. 7, 2013. I needed a plan to correct an erosion problem on a slope which varied from steep to very slight. He told me that the landscaping trend is leading toward all natural grasses and plants which grow successfully locally. He took measurements and emailed me later with a general estimate between $3,000. -- $4,000. Extra cost for travel to our home would be a significant amount(because of the distance from his office to our home). Some of this estimate included reseeding a large lawn area, which we were not interested in, so another estimate needed to be made. I clarified the measurement of the area where we wanted the work done, and I asked for pictures of the "wild flowers" he recommended for the area. He sent pictures of the Bush Center landscape in Dallas, which was interesting but showed tall grasses and wildflowers that resembled the 2 non groomed lots on either side of our house. I did not want this look in our yard; and our homeowner association rules are strict on height of grasses and grooming of everything. I sent at least 2 emails expressing my dislike of the tall grass look and requested pictures of exactly what wildflowers, etc. he planned to use on our area of erosion. I did not receive any reply. My final email to Mr. Taylor was dated Jan. 20, 2014, and I have not heard from him. Katherine Collins
