Global Natural Stones LLC
Recent Review: Tile and quartz purchase was satisfacory BUT Poor craftsmanship upon installation of quartz countertop and when questioned I was given the option of correcting the problem or living with it. I was told if they came out to correct the problem I would have to accept their fix no matter how it came out. Also, the person who installed the tile was very specific and sent them precise measurements pertaining to some additional pieces of quartz needed to finish the project but was told by Global Natural Stones that the measurements didn't make sense and his installers knew better. They did not. They did not do a template and therein lie the problem. They also made a mess on my outside patio that was never cleaned up. I had to do it. I was called on 2 occasions for them to come and check out the installation problems but was given virtually no time to get home and meet them. Part of the quartz that shows is/was not polished but the owner never addressed that issue.

Hamilton Parker Co
Recent Review: Let me just start by saying that in today's day and age, quality customer service is a lost artform, and Hamilton Parker (HP) exhibited an amazing 'above and beyond' culture that absolutely impressed. My wife and I were looking to do a fairly substantial master bathroom remodel, as we had some minor water damage from the previous owner, and wanted to spruce up the generic construction-grade room. We visited a couple general hardware stores, one specialty tile shop, and had some bathroom remodel companies come visit all before our first visit to Hamilton Parker. Learning about tiles, design options, and all the intricacies as a complete novice is really overwhelming! This was the first touch point where Hamilton Parker shined above the competition. Whereas other companies were clearly geared towards just selling or providing the materials, HP gave us what felt like a design consultant when we entered the showroom. We showed her pictures and ideas of what we were thinking and she made us feel completely comfortable with all the terminology and all of the options, even suggesting some great design concepts we'd never thought of - what became our final floor tiles were her idea. This input was so helpful and reassuring, it was a simple service that then made us feel good about buying from Hamilton Parker. They gave us a ton of samples to cart around for a couple weeks, and when we came back with more solidified ideas, we worked with two additional associates (none of whom are on commission) who also clearly knew what they were talking about, and guided us through the purchase with all the right accessories (grout, sealer, enhancer, etc.). They even stayed a bit after the showroom closed to answer all our questions, and communicated directly with our contractor to get exact measurements and numbers for the final order. We even had to do some custom tile cuts and additional items after the initial order, and they just took care of it so we didn't have to worry about a thing. What happened next was even more impressive. We had a 'feature wall' that contained some slate tile pieces, which looked fantastic, but unfortunately after the first exposure to water, one of the tiny pieces seemed to have an iron deposit in it that leaked down the wall, staining all the grout and tiles below. I called HP to see if this was normal, and while it was incredibly rare (they'd only heard of it happening once before) and required some rework to the tiles and grout, they didn't skip a beat in offering to provide additional materials and input for free. They even delivered the replacement supplies directly to our door, and called to follow-up multiple times to make sure everything was okay. While this was a frustrating occurance, the 'above and beyond' nature to simply make things right, even though it wasn't necessarily anyone's fault (just a risk of using natural stone), was truly impressive. To top it all off, HP even offered to cover the costs of our contractor's repair work, which I thought was amazing and certainly beyond anything I would expect. I must specifically thank Tanya Krinks for all her assistance in this matter. Overall, our new bathroom looks incredible, and the service of Hamilton Parker to make that a reality played a major part. Pricing was competitive versus other stores, given many materials are 'higher end' than your generic hardware store, and the selection and options there are incredible. We would absolutely do business with HP again and will be referring all of our friends who are impressed with the new bathroom their way. Thanks Hamilton Parker!! - Andrew

Reviews in Cincinnati to Install Natural Stone Tile

ASchul Tile & Stone Company
Dave Schul responded very promptly when I called for an estimate.  He is friendly and extremely knowledgeable.  Once a date was established to do the work, they showed up and continued to show up when promised until the job was finished.  Curt, the installer is young but experienced, focused, polite and clearly cares that his work meets a high quality standard.  Dave stopped in a couple of  times during the process to make sure that all was well.  If there is more tile work in my future, I WILL be contacting them again.

His workmanship was very good and he did a good job of keeping us up to date on his progress. He was easy to work with and provided good instructions as to what type of grout and other supplies to purchase. He was also willing to provide some of the supplies himself at a reasonable rate. The work he performed for us consisted of laying ceramic tile in 2 bathrooms and a laundry room. He did a great job on all of these rooms. He also tiled our kitchen back splash with the natural stone tile we purchased. The back splash was laid in a diagonal pattern which he did a great job with as well. We also purchased and he laid some accent tiles in the back splash. Overall, all the work he did for us looks great. His pricing was also very reasonable compared to the other estimates that we got.

FCERAMIC INSTALLERS
HE'D PUT UP HALF THE TILE AND IT LOOKED GOOD EXCEPT THE COLOR. IT WAS TOO GRAY, BUT THE PLACE THAT SOLD IT TO ME SAID NATURAL STONE WILL DARKEN AFTER IT IS SEALED. MIKE SWORE THAT WAS A LIE, THAT SALESMEN DON'T KNOW ABOUT SEALERS, THAT THERE WAS NO PRODUCT THAT DEEPENS THE TILE COLOR. HE EVEN ARGUED WITH MY SALESPERSON. HE INSISTED THAT I WAS SOLD THE WRONG TILE AND THAT HE HAD TO TAKE IT DOWN RIGHT AWAY SO I COULD RETURN IT AND GET THE RIGHT THING. I BELIEVED HIM AND HAD HIM TAKE IT DOWN. TURNED OUT, HE WAS WRONG. MY SALESPERSON SEALED IT IN THE STORE, AND IT CHANGED FROM GRAY TO BROWN, AS PROMISED. HE SAID HE'D RETURN TO PUT IT BACK UP, BUT NEVER SHOWED UP AND WOULDN'T RETURN CALLS. I WAS LEFT WITH CUT AND MESSED-UP TILES BASED ON HIS MISTAKE, AND I HAD TO FIND SOMEONE TO SALVAGE HIS MESS. HIS PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE,CUSTOMER SERVICE AND CHARACTER WERE HIGHLY QUESTIONABLE. HE SHOULD'VE FINISHED THE JOB AS PROMISED.

THE GENTLEMAN WAS VERY CONSCIENTIOUS ABOUT HIS WORK. HE WAS CONCERNED ABOUT MATCHING THE LIMESTONE TILES EXACTLY, AND WAS AS SUCCESSFUL AS COULD BE EXPECTED IN MATCHING A NATURAL STONE. HE RETURNED MY PHONE CALL PROMPTLY, ARRIVED WHEN SCHEDULED, AND CLEANED UP AFTER HIMSELF.

FPROSOURCE WHOLESALE FLOORCOVERING OF CINCINNATI
We had been shopping around looking for the best price for the product desired. We stopped in to Prosource during their once-per-year public sales event. During that meeting, they were helpful and we found exactly what we wanted at a terrific price. However...when our hardwood flooring came in, all of it was "short stock"-meaning pieces 6" to 2' in length. When we called them about it, they were argumentative and told us that they clearly told us that it was short stock and that was why it was such a good price-they had never ONCE mentioned that. Being very persuasive, my husband received a refund and they told us they had another product that was regular premium hardwood flooring. I went to the showroom to discuss with them, and in so doing, told them that we wanted standard hardwood flooring, with regular 4-6' long boards. They told me that the other product was premium flooring, that the lengths would vary but there would be 4-6' boards in each box. One of their associates in the discussion said "the box is 6' long and you'll have pieces as long as the box." Upon arrival of our new wood, it was NOT as they indicated. They are all from 1 to 3' long. I immediately called them, and they were the rudest people I have ever dealt with. They said that they told me the average size piece would be 31", (which they did NOT), and that there would be pieces up to 42" maximum, and in checking 3 boxes there is not The manager was not at all trying to please a customer - he was argumentative, telling me that this wood is installed in upscale new homes, is top of the line, is the same as any product that you would get elsewhere, and he said that they would not give us any kind of refund. When I indicated that one of their associates, involved in the conversation, specifically said that there would be pieces up to 6' long, he said "Well he didn't know what he was talking about and shouldn't have opened his mouth." In the end, after much argument, we have unfortunately given up. Our installer feels that it will look OK once installed, so we are going to go with it, and hope for the best, as we cannot afford to eat $2600 worth of flooring costs to try to find what we want elsewhere. Hopefully we won't have problems with the carpet or tile (they both look fine.) Our installers have indicated that they have had multiple problems with Prosource, and when they went to pick up our order were treated very rudely. Our installers indicate that the product they have installed that is purchased from other companies do have many long boards, and what they sold us is very low-end quality flooring. My price rating is based on VALUE for what we paid. The price was right (but not significantly less than the same product elsewhere)-the quality was poor. This was our first time ever ordering hardwood flooring, and thought we had covered all the bases. Even in the 2nd go around when we DID cover the bases were completely lied to. BUYER BEWARE!!!

AOLIVER TILE OF OHIO
We found Dave Oliver through a co-worker of my wife's who'd used him for a backsplash in her kitchen. My wife was very impressed with his workmanship and called him right away to give us an estimate. Dave came out to the house in a day or so and measured everything up and got us an estimate via email in another day or two. We felt the price of his labor was fair given the scope of the work and he was willing to buy the tile for us to secure a discount over what we could buy it for ourselves. Dave was on time both days (project took one long day (8AM to 6:30PM) and the next morning. The tile he brought was exactly what we had specified. He took great pains to keep all our surfaces and floors clean. He worked steadily throughout both days, stopping only for a quick lunch (in his truck) on the first day. He took the time to install each tile precisely and to compensate of the typical variances in surface quality in new home construction. The final product looks even better than we'd hoped. We'd use Dave again in a minute and highly recommend him to other Angie's List members.

APREMIER GRANITE & STONE LLC
The job looks incredible. We could not have asked for more. They did the work over 3 days. There were there on time or early every time they showed up. This is so unusual for a contractor. The crews were very personable and cleaned up every day. I enjoyed talking to them as they worked. The price was very fair. I would NOT hesitate in recommending Chuck and his crew to anyone looking to have granite or stone work done. I am confident we will use them again in the future.

AThe Grout Medic -Dayton/Cincinnati
Excellent job performed by two workmen.  Kitchen floor is beautiful -- it is impossible to discern the replacement tiles.  Grout color match is perfect.  Bathroom shower stall is fabulous -- mold is gone/cleaned and tile work is great!  Well done!

The work was completed on time, the job was neat and clean and the workers were respectful of our property. The price was really good compared to other contractors we had bid on the job, and Everstone did more work. The quality and workmanship was impeccable.

CMr. Handyman of Greater Cincinnati/NKY
The work was done over 2 days. He was punctual both days. The backsplash tile I chose contained a mixture of glass tiles and natural stone. The work he did was not great. The cuts he made were chipped and uneven. I called the company who sent him back the next day and although he worked on it for awhile, it still looked poorly done. I ended up having a licensed tile installer redo the areas for $115. Also, after the installation of the new light fixture, I had issues with the light tripping the electrical circuit. I had an electrician come out and he said the light had been installed improperly and that was causing the issue. He reinstalled the light. Another $115. The Mr. Handyman technician did a decent job with the pass-thru. The only negative is that when he selected the area of the board to cut, he chose the area with a clear knot in the wood to face out. A more careful carpenter would have inspected the board first and let the knot end up in the waste cut. But it was easily concealed with the trim piece I chose to install after seeing it. I would probably not use Mr. Handyman again.
