Recent Review: The men that were there were very informative and explained things that they found and things that they couldn't really check.  They pointed out things that would need to be done or should be done before moving in for our safety and I really liked that.  I know that they put it in their report but they stressed that it needed attention right away,  They were wonderful group of men.

Recent Review: Our home has no special issues, just the occasional ant and spider.  Cost was for the initial inspection (inside and outside) and spray (outside only).  Subsequent visits (quarterly) as a preventive measure cost $105/visit.  Technician was courteous and professional.  After 30 days, there has been no noticeable difference.  Certainly not more bugs, but not any less either.  Nothing changed.  Update (8/5): Scherzinger service manager followed up with us and is attempting to address the issue.  Review grades adjusted accordingly.  UPDATE (8/27):  After 60 days, there is now a noticeable reduction in insects.  Issue solved.  I appreciate Sherzinger's quick response and their commitment to customer service.  Grades adjusted upward accordingly.

Recent Review: Charlie showed up to give us a quote and was able to see that the fix was just concrete caulking. He fixed it but gave us a quote to totally seal the crawl space. Very, very GOOD company - honest and trustworthy. If we were not moving we would get the crawl space sealed but I will leave the quote for the new owners as I think it should be done. It will protect that space from moisture, bugs, and mold making it much more useful to them.

Recent Review: Rob did a great job, spotted a few things needing attention. What really motivated me to write this is all the attention he's given us since then. Rob has been available to offer advice, make referrals, and help us think through repair issues.

Recent Review: After 15+ years of dealing with the huge temperature variations throughout my house I finally decided to look at insulating/encapsulating our crawl space. I had 3 different companies come out to look at my situation. Healthy Basement Concepts was not only less expensive overall, but explained why I did not need the drain tile the other guys said "was all part of the package" or "as long as were down there it couldn't hurt" (other than the $2k+ it added to the cost). Healthy Basement Concepts ended up approx. 30% cheaper than my other two estimates. Jason (owner) told me that they would be here at 8:00am on a Monday to get started and it would take them 2-2.5 days to complete. They were in the driveway at 7:58am Monday to get started and were finished in 1.5 days. Exceeding my expectations based on dealing with contractors in the past. Jason and his crew were friendly and professional and left the house cleaner than they found it. The end results have made a HUGE difference in my home. Prior to having the work done I used a thermometer to take temperature readings throughout my house for a couple days and did the same after, the results speak for themselves: Prior to Encapsulating: Thermostat set to 71*: 1st Floor (on coffee table) - 71*, 1st Floor (on floor) - 66*, Master Bedroom - 79*, Spare Bedroom - 77* After Encapsulating: Thermostat set to 71*: 1st Floor (on coffee table) - 71*, 1st Floor (on floor) - 70*, Master Bedroom - 72*, Spare Bedroom - 72* The difference has been so drastic that the first evening the project was done I went and checked to make sure I didn't blow a breaker because it was 22* outside and the heat was not running. It was 71* in the house but I simply was not use to the heat not running constantly when the outside temp was below freezing. I could not be happier with the end result and the overall experience working with Healthy Basement Concepts.

Reviews in Cincinnati to Inspect Crawl Space

AGUARDIAN INSPECTIONS
Brian was friendly and professional. He answered all of our questions and explained everything. It was obvious that he is very knowledgeable and experienced at what he does. He gave us a detailed report that was color coded to highlight problems that were either "marginal" or "defective". His inspection was very thorough. He found problems that we would never have noticed on our own. The house had a partially finished basement with an area for storage and some crawl space that was unfinished. Brian climbed back into the crawl space to inspect the whole area. We were surprised because we didn't even know that the crawl space existed. He found water and mold in the crawl space and additional mold under the basement ceiling. He showed us the mold and explained the difference between the different types of mold that exist. He also answered all of our questions and did a humidity reading in the area. As a result, we had him do extra testing to determine how much mold was present . His inspection and report gave us the information we needed to make an informed decision about the house. I am glad we called Brian because I am not sure that every inspector would have crawled back into the crawl space the way he did. If he hadn't, we might not have been aware of the water that was seeping into the area.  We also had a termite inspection and radon testing done. John did the termite inspection and Kathryn did the radon testing. They were both friendly and professional and gave us separate reports of what they found. We will definitely call Guardian Inspections in the future and we highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a home inspector.

AHOME BUYERS TECHNICAL CONSULTANTS
THIS WAS OUR THIRD WHOLE HOUSE INSPECTION EXPERIENCE (THREE DIFFERENT HOMES OVER PAST 17 YEARS). MR. MCMAHON DID THE MOST THOROUGH AND PROFESSIONAL INSPECTION. UNLIKE MANY INSPECTIONS, HE WENT ON THE ROOF, IN THE ATTIC, INTO THE CRAWL SPACE. HE THOROUGHLY INSPECTED ALL MAJOR MECHANICALS AND PROVIDED MAINTENANCE & SERVICE SUGGESTIONS. GREAT INSPECTOR, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

AInspector C.H.R.I.S.
Working with Chris was a great experience from start to finish.  This house has a tiny crawl space but rather than using a camera, he and another person, suited up and wiggled underneath the house to thoroughly inspect the crawl space. During the inspection we realized that the gas was not turned on at the house so Chris came back 2 days later to complete the inspection at no additional fee.  We also smelled mold and he was available with all the right equipment to perform a mold test to determine the levels of mold on the property. My final report was sent to me in a very nice book form that can be kept for future reference and store nicely.  I would recommend this company to anyone.  He is knowledgeable, friendly and a true expert!

OUTSTANDING. Did a lot of research and consulted four contractors before going with Jason Fry and Healthy Basement Concepts. Jason did an excellent job, when scheduled and was a pleasure to deal with. Pricing was very competitive and the customer service exceeded our expectations. Good customer service and workmanship is hard to fine these days, but Jason Fry and HBC of Cincinnati is the exception. We would highly recommend Jason and HBC for any basement issues and believe you will not be disappointed.

AThe Basement Doctor of Cincinnati
After shopping around, we chose Basement Doctor. On the first visit, they checked out our crawl space and gave an estimate which we accepted. On the next visit, they sealed the crawl space. We are very pleased with the work. The crawl space is dry and the house is free of the musky odor that used to occur after precipitation.

They came with a crew and hand dug a trench inside the perimeter of the crawl space, installed the drain and well, and backfilled with pea gravel. They installed a sump pump and tied it into the existing downspout drain. All the work was accomplished in less than a day. It is very satisfying to see a dry crawl space for a change.

ABasement Restoration Technologies
We had Basement Restoration Technologies come out to give us an estimate for repairs needed in our crawlspace.  We had been been dealing with water coming in for a year and had used a contractor to  "fix" it (which made things worse!)  Mike Robinson with BRT came to do our initital inspection.  He was punctual, polite, and friendly.  He was very knowledgeable and even offered suggestions of things we could address ourselves to save money.  He didn't try to sell us some crazy system or anything we didn't need.  And the price was WAY below the lowest quote we had gotten.  We scheduled with Wade within 2 days.  Prior to the job, I spoke with Wade a few times for questions I had.  He was SO helpful and kind.  I kept thinking this company was too good to be true after dealing with some of the other companies.  Joe and his crew arrived Monday morning on time and ready to work.  The entire job was completed within 3 days.  Joe and his fellow workers were professional, courteous, and punctual each and every day.  Joe even called the 2nd day just to let me know he would be arriving a little late!  We would go WEEKS without hearing from our previous contractor, so this was so wonderful to work with someone so considerate.  Joe frequently asked throughout the 3 days if everything looked ok, if we had any questions or concerns, and gave us updates on their progress. When the job was completed, Joe showed me all that was done and even gave me instructions on how to maintain our sump pump.  Everything was finished down the very smallest detail.  Not only does our crawlspace look and smell fresh and clean, they left the basement cleaner than it was when they arrived.  BRT went out of their way to make sure we were satisified and that the problem was fully resolved, which it is. There were some minor requests we had made throughout the conversation with Mike that I didn't even have to remind Joe about, they had already taken care of them all!  Best of all, after a long year of frustration and wasted money, the project was completed quickly, professionally, and for a GREAT price!  I only wish we would have called them first!

BGEOTECH INDUSTRIES LLC
We only got an estimate. This bid was to put inside drainage and a sump pump, and spray for mold. He pressured us to sign that day but ended up allowing us 3 days to decide. The contract was generic and we didnt like the "do it now" approach.
